We had dinner here while in Sarasota. It's a lovely restaurant in a nondescript location on Longboat Key- easy to get to and easy parking. Family owned and run- the decor is lovely! It's a Prix Fixe meal- 3 courses of which you have the option to choose 1app, 1 entree and a dessert, everything is made in house by the chef/owner. The food was great - as if you were dining in France . The service was excellent- Sam was pleasant, personable and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely back! Madison Blanche must one of the only white table cloth restaurants in longboat key, and they don't take that for granted. The elegance of the dining room atmosphere, the wait staff, and presentation of the food was not overlooked and executed to a level where you can tell the staff truly cares about the diner's experience. The pre fixe menu is simple enough to not get lost in, and wide enough to keep you coming back for more. Everything we ordered was delicious, unique, and contained a French twist. The special was tilefish, we ordered several kinds of seafood including lobster, crab, and snapper while I had the lamb saddle. Personally speaking the blue crab avocado appetizer was something I had to order because of all the pictures I had seen, and it did not disappoint. The romulade alongside the dish gave it a fresh, elegant bite which was rich but bright. The Colorado lamb saddle had the texture of a well prepared filet mignon perfectly baked inside of a puff pastry. I was calling it a lamb wellington for fun, but that may have been the most I have ever enjoyed a lamb dish. It was hearty, and perfectly balanced between tender meat, crisp crust, and savory sauce. The pineapple dessert was light, refreshing, and felt like a unique cross between a tangy desert and a sweet airy coconut whipped ice cream. I was however very jealous of the others that ordered the rich chocolate soufflé. 10/10. I would say this is a necessary experience for anyone that lives in the area. read more

As always, food, ambience and service are stellar at this amazing French restaurant. Untouched by the recent storms, closed only due to power & phone shutoff after the hurricane. Our server, Jose Jr, was most excellent and we had time to chat with Madame Victoria and Jose Sr as business was light everywhere on the island. I've eaten in many a Michelin restaurant and this is not one of them. My wife had the lobster appetizer and I had the mushroom ravioli which were delicious. So ended the fine dinning experience. Our short ribs had a sauce that was cloyingly sweet and had an off putting taste, not to mention that the rib was luke warm. My wife had ice cream for desert it was fine (guess it's hard to drop the ball on that) I had the chocolate soufflé which was served in a coffee cup... seriously! Additionally, the interior of the soufflé was watery and when I brought this to the attention of the server he said; "This is how it's prepared here somewhat undercooked." The chef (or more aptly a cook) peeked out from the kitchen but never came to the table. Needless to say we won't be returning. I will also advise the concierge at The St. Regis of this awful dining experience. I'm feeling rather generous tonight so I'll give them two stars. read more

This small and intimate spot in Longboat Key has been on our fine dining list since we moved to the area in 2019. Offering a prix fixe menu at $90 for three courses with some specials and an up charge for some items providing some interesting menu options. The restaurant is located at the front of a resort with good parking. The restaurant is rather small drapes in white with nice plants to break up the space. We were greeted warmly and sat for our 6:45pm reservation. The highlight here is the food which was executed near flawlessly. Every dish was delicious from the amuse-bouche to dessert. Service was efficient and professional, maybe too rigid. They recognized our anniversary with a nice candle, nice not great. Our major issue was the seating, maybe the most uncomfortable seats ever. I'd rather ride in a Humvee for 2 hours than seat in those seats again. Definitely worth a visit for some classic French cuisine with a taste of Florida. Overall rating 4.5. read more

Truly the epitomy of a fine dining experience, and a top choice for any special occasion. So fortunate to have Maison Blanche on Longboat Key. You might never expect to find a michelin star restaurant in such an understated exterior (as its attached to the Four Winds condo complex), but once inside your transported into a most elegant dining room draped in white fabric throughout. We have been there multiple times, and it is always exceptional and an elevated dining experience. It's a Prix fixe menu and I would say offers enough choices to satisfy any palate. Love all the meat and fish entrees. The Dover Sole is a treat and the best I've had anywhere. The appetizers are all a wonderful start to this dining experience, though I keep coming back to the Wild Mushroom Ravioli, so delicate and delicious, and one of these days will see if I can do this as an entree portion. The desserts will keep you lingering. The vacherin meringue (reminded me of Pavlova) was so light and airy, the pineapple with coconut mousse delicious, and the chocolate souffle' brings back my best memories of Paris. We celebrated my moms birthday and I knew this was the place to go. My family had been but it was my first and wow, it was one of the most incredible dining experiences I've had. I called Saturday afternoon and was shocked they had an opening. You would never expect such a profound restaurant to be in this location because it is hidden in a time share resort. Parking was easy and the entrance itself was gorgeous. We walked in and the owner, Victoria immediately greeted us and wished my mom a happy birthday. Our table was perfectly tucked into the corner and I was blown away by the style of the dining room (even the bathroom was beautiful). The tables had white table clothes with brown leather chairs that had rollers on the bottom (this is smart because it makes it easy for people to get in and out of their chair) We started off with a bottle of champagne to celebrate and Victoria helped us pick our which one we would like based on our preferences of flavor. We enjoyed a few glasses as we gazed over the menu. It is a prix fixe menu so you pick an appetizer, entree and dessert. I chose: - Stuffed Wild Mushrooms Ravioli with Foie Gras Sauce & Black Truffle - Filet Mignon - Vacherin with Whipped Cream & Raspberries The waiter brought over a complimentary starter that was delicious. It was Amuse Bouche of Whipped Potato Soup & Truffle. After our champagne we ordered a bottle of red wine. Again, Victoria helped us pick out the best wine based on the dishes we ordered. It was a French red blend and it had a Smokey flavor but super light and paired very well. The mushroom ravioli was one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. I was blown away and couldn't wait to try the next course. The filet was cooked PERFECTLY and again, one of the best steaks I've ever had. I ordered it medium and it just the right amount of pink with a charred crusted outside. For dessert I was feeling strawberry and I had the Vacherin with Whipped Cream & Raspberries. It was so refreshing and unlike any dessert I've had. This was a dining experience of a lifestyle. Although our dinner was $600 for three people, it was a memory I will have forever. I'm very satisfied with the presentation, flavor and quality of the appetizers and entrees especially the fillet mignon we had, beautiful! I'm not very impressed by the dessert menu though. We had chocolate soufflé and apple tart. They were both freshly made and very good but kind of simple comparing to the courses before dessert. I like that their dessert not as sweet as typical American dessert. I hope they can work out a more fancy dessert menu in future then I can come back more often. The service pretty good. I've read numerous "outstanding" reviews of this restaurant but after my first experience there for my birthday just a couple of weeks ago, I truly didn't find anything exceptional about the experience. The decor was bland and average at best. They don't have a liquor license so forget having a cocktail! Although it's located directly on the Gulf of Mexico you couldn't tell that from inside being surrounded by white curtains. The prix fixe meal choices were limited and not that inspiring at $85.00 per person with the most desirable items offered at a ridiculous "up charge". The food was good but not exceptional. The service was also good but our waiter was juggling 4+ tables. In summary, for the $300+ cost per couple for an anticipated "top of the town" dinner...unfortunately Maison Blanche missed the mark for us. read more

What a phenomenal restaurant. This was my first time here (I can't even tell you why I hadn't gone before) and I was so impressed. I have to point out that the initial impression is less than ideal. The restaurant is located in the corner of an older, blah looking hotel on Longboat key. Once you get in the front door, things begin to look up. The decor is understated and somewhat contemporary (not the classic French restaurant appearance I was expecting). It's definitely a boutique restaurant as it only appears to be able to seat 40 - 50 people at a time. The staff is outstanding and are clearly of French origins. The food is magnificent. From the amuse bouche all the way through to the wonderful deserts, each serving is a testament to the chef and the overall quality of the establishment. We had the King salmon with bernaise sauce and the sea bass with an incredible lemon Beurre Blanc sauce. Needless to say, the chocolate souffle was amazing. The wine list is fantastic. Just the right amount of each varietal while still being strong in French wines. I also find that their mark-up on wine is a good deal less than many / most fine restaurants. It seemed to me that they were 50% over store or online retail where most restaurants are at LEAST 100% + over these #'s. For a special day or event, you owe it to yourself or your special person to try Maison Blanche. You won't regret it. read more

I am vegetarian and really loved the three course meal here: the tomato tart was so intricate and delicious, followed by beautifully made mushroom ravioli in a broth, and a generously sized apple tart and sorbet. The service included a surprise treat before and after the three courses as well as very gourmet breads. Wines by the glass were about $13 and also tasty. The ambiance, decor, service, cannot be beat unless you are actually in Paris. We enjoyed the food and the excellent service provided by Valerie. From the $70 fix menu, we selected the steak tartar and wild mushroom raviolis for our appetizers. I enjoyed the finishing touches of my tartar, with a pickled onion petal with mustard grains and a hint of mint leaf. My husband was raving about the foie gras sauce at the bottom of his ravioli plate, and the little baguettes served were excellent to pair. We then selected the tuna with eggplants and the suckling pig as our entrées. I couldn't have enough of the sauce/glaze that I could pour on my raw tuna. It was made with soy sauce, a reduction of beef broth and wasabi. My husband thought the pieces of pork were delicious, lean and layered with some crisp. For dessert, I chose the chocolate soufflé with crème anglaise and my husband had the toasted pineapple with puréed banana and coconut ice cream. While enjoyed the chocolate soufflé, I couldn't have enough of my husband's dessert! His was so flavorful and exotic. Our server, Valerie, was absolutely on point with everything: manners, timing, knowledge of the menu. I had a drop of sauce by my plate, (made by me), and she covered it with a fresh napkin before serving my next dish. The venue, even though not conspicuous and inside a regular looking hotel, was very clean and everything was white (thus la maison blanche). Even though drapping decore felt heavy, the center piece of the dining room was elevated with white and purple orchids with brought elegance and a pop of color. We will return. I had the surcharged foie gras which was absolutely delicious, the tuna served lightly seared, thinly sliced, with delicious eggplant and the wonderful chocolate soufflé with cream anglais. The ambiance and the service is perfect - a low key fancy experience. The wine list is extensive - we had a rose champagne and a Loire Valley Sancerre with dinner. Every element of my mushroom and foie gras ravioli was perfect: the sauce. the pasta, the mushrooms. herbs and farce. My wife tried mine and now likes foie gras. The lamb saddle en croute was tender meaty, with again refined seasoning and flavoring with herbs and lettuce. My banana mouse with fruit and coconut ice cream more than stood up to my wife's excellent chocolate mousqse with Creme englaise. Service excellent. Also brought a little candle and delicious treat to help us celebrate. Our entire meal was delicious. I would return for the sea bass with crispy skin. Just perfect! My husband loved his short ribs and the bread that came with our meal. He devoured several pieces lol. Lemon custard dessert was good. My husband had the octopus appetizer it was "OK" I had the shirt rib he had the Tuna both were good. The Dessert were terrible - we shared the chocolate souffle and the apple tart. Incredibly stuffy, mostly very elderly clientele, horrible elevator music piped in, weird white sheets hanging everywhere. Not a place that feels comfortable at all. Only serves wine, no cocktails.
