Cheese puffs as a finis
Robert C.

As always, food, ambience and service are stellar at this amazing French restaurant. Untouched by the recent storms, closed only due to power & phone shutoff after the hurricane. Our server, Jose Jr, was most excellent and we had time to chat with Madame Victoria and Jose Sr as business was light everywhere on the island. The wine list is spectacular (no BYO) and the cuisine is impeccable. The setting is as close to fine dining as one gets in our area. If you haven't been here, you are missing out.

Watery souffle

I've eaten in many a Michelin restaurant and this is not one of them. My wife had the lobster appetizer and I had the mushroom ravioli which were delicious. So ended the fine dinning experience. Our short ribs had a sauce that was cloyingly sweet and had an off putting taste, not to mention that the rib was luke warm. My wife had ice cream for desert it was fine (guess it's hard to drop the ball on that) I had the chocolate soufflé which was served in a coffee cup... seriously! Additionally, the interior of the soufflé was watery and when I brought this to the attention of the server he said; "This is how it's prepared here somewhat undercooked." The chef (or more aptly a cook) peeked out from the kitchen but never came to the table. Needless to say we won't be returning. I will also advise the concierge at The St. Regis of this awful dining experience. I'm feeling rather generous tonight so I'll give them two stars.

Tomato torte appetizer

From the time you enter, you know you are in for a special dining experience. We opted for the price fix dinner ($85)which was plentiful and delicious. My tomato torte appetizer was an explosion of flavors. My red snapper entree was excellent with broth and potatoes. My wife's chocolate soufflé was very special. The ambiance is upscale, the waitstaff is professional, the wine list is pretty substantial and the food is the star

Lamb en croute

The restaurant has a very unique and intimate ambience. The walls are covered with light drapery. There was an old fashioned Christmas tree in the middle of the room up in the air. Another one near a table. The food ranks up there with the fine NYC restaurants. I heard the chef has a Michelin star. I had this artichoke dish that was delightful! The Lamb en croute was amazing!! The meal ended with a decadent chocolate souffle. This is the BEST restaurant I have ever been to in many years!

What a delightful experience, and yes, it's an experience! Issac was delightful and the food was amazing! We've celebrated special occasions with Maison n Blanche and tonight was very special . We shared the Dover soul, had the crab and avocado appetizer, the mushroom ravioli, and of course, ended the evening with the chocolate soufflé, which is absolutely amazing! We just love Maison Blanche!

After dessert dessert

This small and intimate spot in Longboat Key has been on our fine dining list since we moved to the area in 2019. Offering a prix fixe menu at $90 for three courses with some specials and an up charge for some items providing some interesting menu options. The restaurant is located at the front of a resort with good parking. The restaurant is rather small drapes in white with nice plants to break up the space. We were greeted warmly and sat for our 6:45pm reservation. The highlight here is the food which was executed near flawlessly. Every dish was delicious from the amuse-bouche to dessert. Service was efficient and professional, maybe too rigid. They recognized our anniversary with a nice candle, nice not great. Our major issue was the seating, maybe the most uncomfortable seats ever. I'd rather ride in a Humvee for 2 hours than seat in those seats again. Definitely worth a visit for some classic French cuisine with a taste of Florida. Overall rating 4.5.

Lump Crab appetizer wrapped in avocado slices

Service, food and ambiance are incredible. My filet was out of this world. The desserts are next level. A wonderful pre fixe menu, never been -- you are missing out.

Few places have left me star struck. This being one of the few. Everything from the ambiance to the warm towels prior to your meal is exquisite. Our server was amazing and of the upmost knowledge. They definitely made my husbands 30th birthday one for the books.

We celebrated my moms birthday and I knew this was the place to go. My family had been but it was my first and wow, it was one of the most incredible dining experiences I've had. I called Saturday afternoon and was shocked they had an opening. You would never expect such a profound restaurant to be in this location because it is hidden in a time share resort. Parking was easy and the entrance itself was gorgeous. We walked in and the owner, Victoria immediately greeted us and wished my mom a happy birthday. Our table was perfectly tucked into the corner and I was blown away by the style of the dining room (even the bathroom was beautiful). The tables had white table clothes with brown leather chairs that had rollers on the bottom (this is smart because it makes it easy for people to get in and out of their chair) We started off with a bottle of champagne to celebrate and Victoria helped us pick our which one we would like based on our preferences of flavor. We enjoyed a few glasses as we gazed over the menu. It is a prix fixe menu so you pick an appetizer, entree and dessert. I chose: - Stuffed Wild Mushrooms Ravioli with Foie Gras Sauce & Black Truffle - Filet Mignon - Vacherin with Whipped Cream & Raspberries The waiter brought over a complimentary starter that was delicious. It was Amuse Bouche of Whipped Potato Soup & Truffle. After our champagne we ordered a bottle of red wine. Again, Victoria helped us pick out the best wine based on the dishes we ordered. It was a French red blend and it had a Smokey flavor but super light and paired very well. The mushroom ravioli was one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. I was blown away and couldn't wait to try the next course. The filet was cooked PERFECTLY and again, one of the best steaks I've ever had. I ordered it medium and it just the right amount of pink with a charred crusted outside. For dessert I was feeling strawberry and I had the Vacherin with Whipped Cream & Raspberries. It was so refreshing and unlike any dessert I've had. This was a dining experience of a lifestyle. Although our dinner was $600 for three people, it was a memory I will have forever. The owner, Victoria is from Paris and we talked with her after our meal. She has successfully brought French cuisine to such a small town in Florida. If you are in the Sarasota/Longboat Key area, you must try Maison Blanche.

This time I decided to try the Ragin' Cajun Flounder Melt ($19) Toasted sourdough bread slices with blackened flounder, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, and Cajun remoulade in between. We got there a little early for our reservation and they were immediately ready to seat us. They even made an effort to place us near the fish tank so our toddler could watch the fish during dinner, which I really appreciated. The restaurant itself felt more intimate than I expected. I've seen reviews mention the awkward layout, but I actually thought it gave the space a cozy feel. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't fully live up to the prices. Our waiter was kind, but we barely saw him during the meal and waited quite a while for drink refills. I'd also mentioned in the reservation notes that it was my husband's birthday dinner and our first time visiting, but neither was acknowledged during dinner. Normally that wouldn't bother me much, but with the pricing and the restaurant's elevated presentation - polished uniforms, fresh seafood options, extensive wine menu - it felt like there should've been a little more attention to the overall experience. My husband did absolutely love the coleslaw that came with his fish and chips, especially the pineapple in it, which he'd never tried before. I ordered the grouper tacos and thought they were okay, but not especially satisfying. They came with a salad, and I found myself wishing I could've swapped it for fries or a heartier side. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or misunderstood the menu options. Most of the crowd during our visit seemed older, and the restaurant definitely feels geared toward that demographic. While I don't think we'd personally rush back, I'm still glad we gave it a try. I also thought it was a nice touch that they offer a 15% discount to the ice cream shop next door if you bring your receipt.

We were impressed with her recommendations. She made us feel very welcome, which added to our fantastic meal. For dinner, we ordered the beet and feta salad and open face lamb and chicken pita. Absolutely delicious! To end our meal, we shared the carrot cake with pecans and cranberries. The combination was out of this world. Looking forward to dining here again. Thank you for the great meal and service.

Cubed yellow fin tuna: Also a very large portion and good flavour but it could have gone without the tomatos (and I love tomato's) And perhaps served with a rice cup or something to scoop it up. Everything is diced up so it makes it kind of messy to eat. We got a burger to split. we didn't order a side but the waiter I guess put them in anyhow. The FF without the poutine are just ok. The burger on the other hand was really good and cooked perfectly. We split everything and took home left overs, as it was a lot of food. We shared the butterscotch gelato and had coffee to go with it. The service is good, The athompshere is pleasant. We will definitely be back to try some of the other items. I'm not a greek fan so I wouldn't touch those but my husband will. :)

The appetizer was really good but I think it could have been elevated a notch if the dip was more of a lemon base dipping sauce. The pizzas were both thin and very tasty, nice tomato base, I liked the little difference of crust (thin & crunchy) compared to your normal softer crust on an Italian wood fired pizza. I like when I'm able to have preferences on pizza crusts on any given day. I would like to go back and try something else next time to see what this little spot has to offer. I love Dry Dock Waterfront Grill and I always visit when I am in the Sarasota area. Dry Dock is always busy so I am also sure to make a reservation in advance using Open Table. Typically we sit inside but I know the back patio is popular too. If your timing and patience is perfect, you can also get a nice a nice window seat in the dining room that has sweeping views of Sarasota Bay. The inside atmosphere is bright and airy and although airy often translates to loud, Dry Dock thoughtfully put noise dampening panels on the ceiling. As far as food, I don't think you can go wrong. I always get something with grouper whether it be an entree, sandwich or tacos. On my most recent visit I got the grouper filet with coconut shrimp because I had originally been eyeing up the coconut shrimp as an appetizer. Ultimately, we decided to get the rock crab claws for an appetizer which were good but more work than I planned even though they were pre-cracked. I felt like a Neanderthal trying to eat those crab claws in such a nice restaurant. No offense to the Neanderthals, of course! I have no idea what my husband had as it disappeared. After entrees, apps and bread, we were too stuffed for dessert. I think our server was Cari and she was awesome! Attentive, friendly, funny and quite possibly a mind reader and magician.
