We ate at Harry's for breakfast before we left Longboat Key for the airport. From the outside, this restaurant doesn't look like much, but it definitely is good eating. We sat on the patio and even though it was on the roadside, it was secluded by lots of plants and had a pergola to shade the tables. Our server was Kianna and she was sweet and provided good service. Right away she bought a basket of mini biscuits and banana bread. Nice touch. My husband had Harry's nogi for breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon crumbles, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, avocado, chipotle sauce and corn tortillas. He loved it. I had the old-fashioned German pancake with lingonberries. I also ordered a side of bacon. The German pancake was light and very good. The bacon was crisp like I like it. Before I left I went inside to use the restroom and was so surprised seeing the dining area. It totally is different than the outside and is so inviting. Decorated in white and blue it's so inviting, and there are plenty of booths and tables inside. Next time I'm in Longboat Key, I will definitely come back for dinner. We looked at the menu and it looked good. Looks are deceiving so don't pass by this place because of the nondescript exterior. read more

We had brunch at Harry's today. My husband and friend ordered different eggs Benedict (one ham, the other crab cake) and shared. Both amazing! And my husband thinks he is an eggs Benedict critic. I Had the tuna tower. It was not exactly what I was expecting but better!! Sliced seared tuna layered between large wontons with a salad of cabbage carrots and mayo sauce. Just delightful!! Oh and the bloody Mary's were so good, not to spicy, with beautiful garnishes that I devoured!! Oh and I forgot to mention the complimentary banana bread!! The service was excellent and they were packed at 1 pm with lots of locals on a Sunday. You can sit in or outdoors. Just a nice atmosphere!! read more

OMG! So disappointing. We recently had brunch outside, among the hundreds, maybe thousands, of little bugs. Horrible. It totally spoiled everything. Bugs got into my water, my drink and even my salad. You just can't eat outside at Harry's when the weather is warm, probably over 65/70 degrees. There are these little bugs EVERYWHERE. What's worse is that Harry's knows this, of course, but does nothing. Something really has got to be done. The manager walked by and didn't even apologize or say a word. As for the food, it was pretty good, definitely not better than that, although based on the prices you should expect and more and get better. Plus, for example, a $7 cappuccino is just too much--and it's served in a rather small cup. All in all, rather disappointing. read more

Service was terrible. After waiting about 1.5 hours, someone in our group of 4 got up and asked about the status of our breakfast (egg) order. When it finally arrived, the food was cold and had appeared to have been sitting on a warming shelf. The restaurant comped us for two of the four entrees but still had a bill of about $70. Seems pricey for eggs that you have to wait an hour and a half for. We will not go back-there are too many great restaurants in the area to choose from. read more

Average food with high prices. We went to Harry's with a large group of 11 people. The reservation was at 6 PM. They were not finished serving us our drinks until seven and we did not place our order for food until 715. The servers were very friendly, but extremely slow. The meal was over four hours long. The food was just OK. We had the cucumber salad special, which was fine. We also had a seared snapper and tuna with tostadas. They recommended splitting salads, but the cucumber salad special we had was small. Everything was very expensive and not that good. That along with the interminably long wait makes it so I can only give it three stars at best. I'm not sure how we get such good reviews. read more

Went to Harry's as I have been wanting to see what all of the good press is all about. We arrived between lunch and dinner and perhaps that was the reason we left hungry and disappointed. We ordered soups, gazpacho and vichyssoise. At $12 a bowl, we were less than completely satisfied. The soups were good, clearly not worth the cost. I know on LBK, we're gonna face a premium. We would have been wise to stop there, but we ordered our 2nd courses with the first. My wife loved her pear salad, it was substantial and she said the dressing was great. $20 without protein. I mistakenly ordered the "Captain's platter". With a label like that and the $33 price tag, I was expecting so much more. The fried "platter" had 3 medium shrimp that were so rubbery that they might have been cooked twice. The 2-3 ounce piece of grouper was well executed and the best thing on the platter. Now, the crab cake. The menu specifically says that these are not Maryland crab cakes. That is a clue. The 2 inch around by inch tall cake was nicely browned, that's all good I can say about it. There was little to no crab contained therein. The only way I knew there was some strands of crab in there was visually. The carb cake had zero crab taste and zero crab texture. It was terrible and the restaurant should be embarrassed to serve it. That was some of the worst seafood I have had in Florida. I live here and eat plenty of it. The dessert was excellent. A brownie ala mode. That meal cost is $133 plus tip. We won't be going back. read more

There's just way too much cheese over my grits and my eggs. My husband got the shrimp and grits, which wasn't dynamic at all. It was very oily and the shrimp seem like they were boiled. And again bland. I loved our server. He was very sweet. Honestly the only thing that I truly enjoyed was the banana bread. Everything else was meh. I probably won't return. read more

Went for Sunday brunch. Glad we had reservations as it was packed. Extremely loud. We were sat in a booth for four, and we all found it quite cramped, not much space between the table and bench on both sides. We had 2 servers, and both ladies were excellent, sweet and attentive despite how busy it was. Major complaint besides the noise and seating was the temperature of the food - I ordered eggs benny and the potatoes and Benedict were not hot. The flavours, presentation and quality etc were on point, just not the temp. The others had omelettes which they liked - father had captains platter and said it was overcooked. Should have known by them having many open dinner reservations for Easter Sunday dinner not to go. It is advertised as a fine dining white linen table restaurant. We reserved a table for 4 arriving at 6:30pm. The restaurant was practically vacant inside; however, they chose to seat us in a booth. Many many tables were open and remained open the entire night for which we could have been seated. Advice 1... do not seat two couples in a booth. While it was a 'white linen" decor it felt more like a glorified diner. We were obviously overdressed by the way the other patrons were wearing tank tops, tshirts and flip flops. Next comes the menu. It was exactly as indicated online however this included the pricing.. wow for this place but we stayed anyhow. The pricing is in line with the H.P. Steakhouse in downtown Sarasota. II must admit. The service and waiters were excellent!!! Top notch. The food was above average however the portion was extremely small. For 66 or 68 dollars... can't remember exactly I could have gotten a 16oz ribeye at H.P. The dishes were very well presented. That was a plus for certain. Great concept. If the decor and experience were better I would give it a better rating. Also be prepared to be blasted with loud music. Nothing presents a better dining experience than having to talk loud to the people in the booth for a conversation. The reviews seem great online... I just don't get it. read more

We dined on June 9, 2025. Each year we explore a few restaurants that participate in Savor Sarasota. This year we hit a winner! One we will return to many times. The staff was upbeat and welcoming. Our waitress Alexa was very attentive and friendly. We loved her. We ordered from the Savor menu and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful and memorable. I loved fresh pear salad appetizer, unique duck sausage dish. My husband had the seared tuna bomb appetizer with the soft shell crab main course. Both were expertly prepared. I got the chicken florentine crepe which was sooo good! I added grilled onions which was a nice touch. My grandpa had the shrimp gazpacho which he loved. My sister enjoyed one of the salads. I probably should have read the reviews before coming. People were generally complimentary of the breakfast--we agree--but not so much the dinner. First the good: the outdoor ambience was really nice, as was our server despite how slowly the food appeared to be coming out of the kitchen. Then an experience we never had in any of the dozen or so nice restaurants we tried in LBK. When we tried to remove an ingredient in a dish, once for allergies and twice for taste like omitting chili peppers, we were told ALL THEIR DISHES ARE PRE-MADE, no changes possible. So we wound up ordering our second choices which significantly dimmed the experience. Even in lesser restaurants they are happy to accommodate guest needs or preferences. In spite of a couple of excellent desserts, I won't be back to sample pre-made dishes. And note to chef: Classic Caesar Salad has parmesan not bleu cheese, and never tomatoes even in Tijuana! read more

Right from arrival the staff was warm, welcoming, and catered to our every need. The pace was just right, never rushed, and always right there when we needed them. Our friends, with whom we are staying, adore Harry's and made a brunch reservation for us today. From the outside, the place looks rather nondescript but once you enter the restaurant, you are pleasantly surprised by the white table cloths and simple but lovely decor. Our server, Elizabeth, was delightful. She took very good care of our group of five. Three of us chose Bloody Marys. OK, they forgot the bacon but it was on the table only minutes after we mentioned it to Elizabeth. Love the pickled green bean and Brussel sprout that accompanied the green olive on the toothpick. Very cool idea and quite tasty! One of the others in our party ordered the Citrus Martini and was just as happy with her beverage. I ordered the Shrimp and Cheese Grits and they were delicious. Someone else had the German Apple Pancake. Two others decided on the Seafood Benedict. All were superb. We were so pleased with our experience that we plan to return tomorrow for lunch as we are meeting a friend from home. read more
