I was initially turned off because the pricing is on the high side for casual food; however, the portions are gigantic. Larry and I split the Greek platter and the salmon burger. The Greek platter had what looked like an entire container of hummus, a metric ton of pita wedges, grape leaves, pepperoncini, baba ghanoush and black olives. The salmon burger came on toast, not a bun, and was delicious! Friends had the $8 egg special; good to note that they have one pre-inflation item on the menu! The food was great and we took most of it home to enjoy later as the portion was huge. The restaurant itself is super tiny which can make it a little loud; as we were wrapping up, a table with very poorly behaved children was seated right next to us. Also, the parking can be a challenge; we had to park several blocks away at midday during the week. All in all, this is a nice spot for mostly healthy bites!

The owner, Kriztina, is a pastry chef from Belarus who recently opened the shop. With their cozy inside space and outside tables facing NE 183 Street in Aventura, it's a great place to enjoy pastries and casual brunch staples. For me personally, I also had the opportunity to practice my Russian! I started by enjoying a regular Americano coffee no sugar, perfect after the gym. Next up, served with two pieces of baguette, I enjoyed their spinach shakshuka. In case you're not familiar this was a delicious bowl of melted Parmesan cheese, two eggs and spinach. Equal parts tasty and a source of protein! I can't finish a meal without dessert, I enjoyed their "svirniky". This traditional Eastern European dessert is essentially a cheese pancake served with sour cream and spoonfuls of a cherry compote. I would definitely recommend; it's satisfied my sweet tooth without being overly sweet! Since the best way to learn a language is not just repeat the phrases on Duolingo, I mentioned to Kriztina that I'm learning Russian. She was kind enough to let me order and even practiced conversation with me. This was very much appreciated!

We like the low salt Bagel Bar uses in dishes that other restaurants typically make way too salty. Just good food without needing to hide behind salt. On nice days, the patio gets filled up, but it's often too hot and we're more comfortable inside, either at one of the tables or bar seating. We've also stopped here a few times to grab a matzoh ball soup or baked goods like a fresh baked black & white cookie to go. I will say that I was a little confused when I arrived because I wasn't expecting it to be a food truck. turns out they used to have another brick-and-mortar location, but the building got bought and they had to vacate head, so they're currently one of the food trucks in a little food truck park. The owner actually took my order that day, and we chatted while my food was being made since there was nobody else in line at the time. She told me her story and her dreams and her love for sharing her food with people...
