It was a fantastic sandwich, loaded with crispy bacon and creamy avocado! We added the Tsunami Furikake Onion rings, $17, and a "Mother of Dragons" mocktail, $10 and a draft beer. The onion rings were massive and plentiful. We practically took home a full box of leftovers to enjoy later! Yes, if ever back in Paia, we're heading back to Paia Bay Coffee & Bar.

Instead I hit 'Paia Coffee and Bar' , this absolutely did the trick!! Very cool place with an infectious vibe and hip staff. It has a walk up coffee bar area right from the street & outside shaded seating which is difficult to find in this town anywhere. So I once again ordered a 12 ounce double shot whole milk latte and it was excellent.. second best rated cup of coffee I experienced in all of Maui . I can also see why on Google alone this place has 1.2 k reviews, It's really kind of a hybrid location as it serves coffee along with alcohol and food etc.. Give it a whirl, I'm definitely going to go back when I'm in town next.

We ordered the americanos, and they were so good -- smooth, bold, and not overly bitter. Just a clean, rich espresso flavor done right. You can tell they care about the quality of their beans and how they pull their shots. They do have a small, simple menu, which I think adds to the charm of a small town. A handful of espresso drinks, teas, and a few breakfast options like bagels and warm pastries. Not a huge selection, but everything feels intentional and well made -- quality over quantity. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has that laid-back Maui vibe where you can sit, sip, and just enjoy the moment. If you're in Paia and need a solid coffee spot without the big chain feel, Story Maui is definitely worth stopping by.

I was a bit disappointed that I was 15 minutes too early for Happy Hour prices with no leniency, but if it was that important I could have waited outside for a quarter of an hour. We were seated immediately, and our order came out quickly, The smash burger is unique in the flavor provided by their aioli sauce and a bunch of arugula. Other than that taste, the burger was an average size, the bun could use a bit more toasting, though it did hold up well throughout the entire devouration. While the patty did not exhibit any great flavor, it was cooked a perfect medium. It still came out as a non juicy puck, but thankfully not too dry. The toast special was a highlight, simply a wonderful and delicious creation. While I have not yet tried a cocktail here, they looked beautiful. The one bathroom is busy and features a waiting line. Also the toilet seat is broken and a bit hazardous to navigate.

Started with the warmed salad (have to love the delicata squash), followed by the pasta, then the goats milk ice cream with fruit compote, followed by the espresso. Definitely try this place, you won't be disappointed.

The parking lot is a bit tight upon arrival, but you can definitely drive around the back and check for availability there. I was pleased to find the line wasn't outside the door. It was pretty busy inside, for good reason. Their pastries and food options looked spectacular. As I observed seated customers, everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves and their treats. I was a little disappointed to see the pump bottles of syrup by the bar, as I would've loved to try a house made syrup. But nonetheless, I ordered a cortado with coconut milk and Mac nut flavoring. It was much smaller than I was used to from ordering cortados at other shops, but it was perfect. I wish I took a photo. Since I stopped by before returning my rental car in the afternoon, there wasn't that much of a wide variety of pastries left. However I was able to snag an Ube croissant. I saved it on my flight and ate it at home the following day. It remained super soft and fresh. The ube filling was light yet flavorful without being too sweet. The color was gorgeous. I'm not sure if you'll understand, but the croissant was flakey but not dry. It was airy, but still bready and full. It was hugeeee!! I'd compare it to half the size of my forearm lol. I only waited about 10 mins from entry to exit. After trying this shop, I would gladly wait outside on the steps if I had to. Can't wait to return and try some new items!!
