Caramel Hazelnut Latte and vegan gluten free chocolate donut
    Angel F.

Visited Crema today and ordered a 12 oz Caramel Hazelnut Latte, a 16 oz pour over coffee, and a vegan gluten free chocolate donut. Service was great, ladies inside were friendly and ordering was easy. I enjoy the use of a train car as a coffee car and the interior and exterior are clean, and offer a good atmosphere. Caramel Hazelnut Latte with oat milk was delicious, no notes. Pour over coffee seemed like maybe the machine is too hot and it's pulling a bit of a sour notes but still a better than an average coffee shop pour over. Chocolate donut was delicious!! Dense like a chocolate cake (which is what the employee described it as being) 10/10 get the donut. PROS: Quick service Vibey atmosphere Good drinks and coffee

Everything about this sweet little trolley is delightful. Let's start with the service and the people. Many thanks Grae and Nanea - who bring the bright energy and kindness to every customer. The vibe is warm and kind and the people visiting the cafe are lovely - what a feeling of community. Thank you so much for no charge on non-dairy milk. You are total winners. They also have vegan and gluten-free pastries. There's some other food available for those who want eggs or salmon. Sweet little plants, places to sit in the shade or the sun and just a nice place to pause and take beautiful Mother Maui. Sustainable off grid solar. Wohooo They even have a rewards program.

Cute little coffee trolley. They have a few small wobbly tables outside for seating but it's pretty limited. On a regular day I think it's fine, but on weekends they have the farmer's market nearby and it can get pretty busy. The menu is listed outside the trolley, which I like. Then you go inside to order and wait for your drink. There was one person working all the stations when we went a few times so just be patient. Drinks were made with care and you can taste it. Sometimes you just want a good regular latte and that can be hard to find. Crema is great for regular drinks but they also offer their specialty drinks. I'm more of the regular latte and my friend prefers the specialty options. We ordered and tasted both and neither of us was disappointed. This was probably one of my favorite coffee spots in the area. The coffee is great, service is nice, and they have a few pastry options available as well.

Stopped by Crema on a Saturday when we visited the upcountry Farmers Market (amazing too). Probably the best mocha I've had. The breakfast sandwich was also delicious. Such a cute setting with a few tables under a shade sail. Staff was super friendly. Definitely returning!

Beautiful spot with nice view of the mountain. I tried the rose cacao latte and it was slightly floral and sweet, "recommend". Coffee beans are on the medium to light roast side . Enjoy the delicious waffles.

If you love delicious espresso, friendly service, and good vibes, this is the spot for you! Every time I decide to spoil myself with a morning beverage, I head to Crema. They always take care of me with a smile and beautiful care for their craft. The time and attention to detail in each beverage is not something you often see in today's "quick coffee" world. If you're seeking a well balanced and lovingly-poured coffee drink, you can't go wrong with Crema. (Their chai and matcha drink are amazing, too!) It's also a great place to find gifts for the coffee and tea drinkers in your life. So grateful to have this hangout in the neighborhood. Keep up the awesome work!

Crema is my favorite stop for delicious espresso drinks, rose cacao is my absolute fav. Served in a retrofitted troller car, the vibe is so quaint- little splash of Parisian vibe! They always have sweet ladies to serve with great stye as well. Mahalo for being here, Crema !!

    Americano

This adorable trolley car cafe boasts friendly baristas, a charming atmosphere, and a bold Americano. I selected to go for a double shot of their classic espresso in my Americano, and wandered over to the tables outside. A few minutes later, butterflies danced as they fluttered by and a barista warmly greeted me and handed off this lovely beverage. I then wandered over to the nearby Wednesday farmer's market and sipped my Crema Maui specialty, as I took in the local delights.

I absolutely love the dirty chai! It is to die for! I dislike when the coffee overpowers the chai which most shops do, but crema nailed it with the spicy chai with that subtle espresso kick! If I am in the mood for a coffee-free treat: I also always love the blue moon (especially with matcha ). Highly reccomend the cruffins as well! Can't go wrong with the sourdough pastries! Perfect atmosphere for a slow quiet morning or for a quick drink on the go. Friendliest and caring staff and amazing customer service always!

She was so very sweet, describing the flavors of the coffee. My family friend is careful about her sugar and she was so good with her. What we had was so delicious. I got the Americano with oat milk and hazelnut sweetener. They even have Haupia. Every taste of our coffee made our trip in Makawao of her favorites. I brought my cousin Tony and his friend Shannon in March, say on the 21st. And I can't remember who helped us but she told us about Peg and knew exactly who I was referring to. Another wonderful experience. They offered me a stamp card this time. Shannon got something iced with the Haupia. Looked delicious and beautiful. Tony got something latte with something vegan and he liked it. I tried the the latte this time with oatmilk, Splenda and cinnamon flavoring. Please check them out! Support local. I love the idea. And I have been a frequent customer when there is time for me to get a cup of coffee on my way to work or just out of haiku. But because of that, timing and efficiency are even more important. They open at 6am , there were two cars in front of me, One of them have just pulled out when I pulled in , I waited 15 minutes for the one only car that was in front of me , they paid, but still they haven't gotten their coffee ,I ended up needing to leave without being served. 15 minutes standing in line, with only one car ahead of me, and two other customers driving off as well, is just too long...especially during the early morning rush when people are tired, in a hurry, and honestly not at their nicest. Most of us just need our coffee and need to get going. I say this as someone who used to be a barista: the morning workflow can absolutely be tightened up. With a few adjustments to speed and organization, this drive-through could be unbeatable, especially since it's the only one in the area. I hope the team can improve their morning timing, because the location and concept are genuinely great. That is my only constructive complaint everything else in this place is amazing , coffee, pastry, and sandwiches. It's so nice. I always recommended it to people , a lot of them don't even know they exist. Which makes me sad because I want to keep having business so I can keep having my drive-through coffee.

I was a little disappointed to see the pump bottles of syrup by the bar, as I would've loved to try a house made syrup. But nonetheless, I ordered a cortado with coconut milk and Mac nut flavoring. It was much smaller than I was used to from ordering cortados at other shops, but it was perfect. I wish I took a photo. Since I stopped by before returning my rental car in the afternoon, there wasn't that much of a wide variety of pastries left. However I was able to snag an Ube croissant. I saved it on my flight and ate it at home the following day. It remained super soft and fresh. The ube filling was light yet flavorful without being too sweet. The color was gorgeous. I'm not sure if you'll understand, but the croissant was flakey but not dry. It was airy, but still bready and full. It was hugeeee!! I'd compare it to half the size of my forearm lol. I only waited about 10 mins from entry to exit. After trying this shop, I would gladly wait outside on the steps if I had to. Can't wait to return and try some new items!!

For my coffee on this morning I went with a large Surf's Up cold brew, which the menu described as coconut mac nut with a sweet foam topper. Since I had run 17 miles earlier in the day, I was also hungry and their jalapeño cheddar bagel caught my eye, so I ordered one of those as well. It did not take long before I had both my drink and food and was headed back to my car. As soon as I got in, I dug in. When I first opened the bagel it looked a little overdone, but there was no bitterness from the darker parts and it actually ended up being cooked perfectly. As for the coffee, I could not get enough of it. The coconut mac nut cold brew was strong with a bit of earthiness from the mac nut and some sweetness from the coconut. The sweet foam was the real standout though as I loved both the texture and the added sweetness. Paired with the bold coffee, it worked really well and I finished it quickly. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my bagel and coffee were good and I would also be interested in trying their shave ice next time.

This visit felt really different. Today we brought family visiting from off-island after a walk on Thompson Road. We decided to stay and dine in instead of taking it to go. Looking back... maybe takeout would've been the better option. Ugh. I honestly hate writing this. The only reason I am is because I'm hoping someone from the Grandmas team reads this and actually cares enough to make some changes. If you don't know, you can't grow. Today our experience looked like this: * Watching several people get served after us even though we ordered first. Waiting for almost 30 minutes. * Our order getting mixed up and handed to the wrong person * Confusion about what muffins were available... okay fine, I'll take a blueberry muffin. Then halfway through eating it, I found a hair baked into it * Ordering potatoes without onions because of an allergy, having it made wrong twice, and needing it redone * Noticing the restaurant itself looked like it could use a deep cleaning, including ceiling fans with layers of dust And maybe this was just an off day, but the staff vibe felt... off too. Disconnected. Kind of cliquey. Like everyone seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving guests. The warm, welcoming feeling Grandmas always had just didn't feel like it was there today. As a customer, I honestly felt like I was intruding or inconveniencing the staff just by being there, and that's a really strange feeling in a place we've loved for so long. That's honestly the part that made me the most disappointed. We've loved Grandmas for years, which is why this was tough. After reading several other reviews, it seems others may have had similar experiences too. I really hope things improve and staff morale lifts, because as customers, we feel it. Mahalo for reading. I truly hope this helps and leads to positive changes.
