Makahoa Pizza Company is a food truck located at Kahuku Sugar Mill in Hawaii's North Shore. There is a fantastic pizza menu along with a build your own option. The employee there was very nice and patient when it took a minute to decide among all the great options. The food truck was clean and had a beachy vibe. There were a few uncovered picnic tables nearby to enjoy your pizza or you can take it with you in its carryout box. We took the city bus and had no problem bringing the pizza with us. If you have a vehicle, the sugar mill has sand parking lots. Everyone at our resort was jealous when we came strolling in with this incredibly fragrant pie. read more

The owner makes the pizza dough fresh from flower and water. When he runs out for the day,there is no more pizza for the day. The pizza is very fresh and the dough is doughy but delicious. The owner is a nice guy who cares about each pizza he makes. There are many food trucks in the little section so you can eat this pizza and go get some dessert afterwards. It was Sunday and there weren't many places open so we decided to try Makahoa. I ordered a slice of the cheese and the slice of the day (margherita). I thought it was just okay. My friends ordered a full size pizza of the Hawaiian and Jefferoni. My friends said they loved both pizzas. However, the crust was dry on theirs and mine. The staff was very sweet. They gave my friend the wrong pizza and were quick to fix it. They only accepted cash or Venmo, which isn't as convenient as square but we made it work! There are few actual restaurant open for dinner on a weekend in Laie, and you'll be most likely going to a food truck. I was quite excited to try this pizza truck after seeing the good reviews online. Ordering was simple--they only take cash or venmo (there's an extra fee for venmo). The pizza is made fresh however it takes about an hour so you'll need to camp out nearby. Leave a phone number and they will text you when it's ready. And every 10 min after. I'm a just stick to dominos pizza. 10 min away from there and you can track your order. Tried to buy support local but then get screwed by local. And the sushi spot next to them was better. Bald guys next to the sushi spot is 1000% ono but they closed at 3. Unless you like thin pizza that's like a cracker with cheese on it, go for it.
