It was so nice to stay somewhere where it's so intimate, that the valets, front desk and restaurant personnel all knew us by name! We had an oceanfront suite and loved feeling like the ocean was part of our backyard. And my light sleeper husband was very grateful for the primarily adult guests because it was unusually quiet for a vacation hotel. :).

The room keys in the form of waterproof wristbands are a nice touch. It was mostly adults staying here and very few families with children, which is what we wanted for our mini-moon. Cons: The parking is Valet only. The pool is relatively small. The chairs around it fill up fast when it's busy. If a pool chair opens up, you can't get your own fresh towels/chair cover and have to wait for someone to come through with a cart to swap them out. You can't access the beach directly from the resort; on a map it looks like you can access Kiahuna beach, but you actually have to climb down from the boardwalk onto it (I did not want to do this and walked to Poipu Beach instead). The food is expensive and the "happy hour" drinks are $19. Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a beautiful location!

The staff went above and beyond and ensure we had an incredible stay. We used points which definitely made the cost a bit less painful, but I think even the cash price would be worth it to stay here. It was really sad for us to leave, but I hope to come back someday!

Our room location was the last room at the far end of our building, overlooking a parking lot and in a terrible location. Room #6146 We didn't want to question this as we were tired from our plane trip and we didn't want this special occasion to be damped by any negativity. We were highly disappointed in the room and the location. Our room was a bit dated and we were surprized that the Hyatt didn't offer us an upgrade under our circumstances, as we were very specific. We would have paid more if they had explained the room properly, as we were very specific and we would have upgraded. We relied on the Hotel's reservation desk to direct us. They made a huge mistake which effected our trip. All in all, the grounds were beautiful and the service was excellent. We spent alot of money and we were determined to make this a memorable occasion. We were very disappointed.

Very comfortable, large rooms, large bathrooms, large living areas, full kitchens, great lanai and depending on which you're staying in a private grill. The penthouse is amazing for large groups, where every room has its own en suite, the two bedroom villas do as well, the kitchen is stocked with all the cooking ware you need for a good dinner set up if you don't want to go out to eat. For me this is the perfect type of hotel for staying in with your family and utilizing the pools and trips to poipu park or driving to Kōloa town. It's still close enough to the various activities you can book around the island, but if you want to relax, I think it's a great place to do so. Beautiful scenery to walk around and it's relatively quiet. The pools are fantastic, and the restaurant on site is pretty good (although have only been there once) the market on site is great too, they have a great assortment of everything you'd like to snack on. Staff in all my interactions have also been super hospitable. And thank you to them for putting up with all the patrons during hurricane Lowell. Honestly, I would not have come during this time period had I been aware of what was coming, I just was very unprepared and did not look at weather conditions before arriving. We did lose power during our stay which made things difficult. Thank you for still coming to work and providing such a pleasant service to us during this difficult time. Thank you for communicating what was going on and what we should be concerned about during our stay and providing advice on what the next steps were. It really did make the uncertainty of it all a lot more easier to take in. Really do hope everyone remained safe during this all and hoping for the best. Thank you again.

Disappointing experience at the Beach Club. I understand that not every room will be perfect all…read morethe time...but the listing on line that a customer pays for...and flies hours for...should be accurate. "Ocean View" at the club attached...was told by the hotel that customers complain about it every week. Rather than offering free parking as a concession, there is a much easier remedy to this problem...deliver what is advertised/reserved/paid for. Classic vacation club pool experience where guests wake up at 6am and put a towel out on chairs...only to leave them empty until 11. Concierge staff was great and very helpful arranging tours but otherwise would not return or recommend this location. We left the resort half way thru our trip for a different property.

It's okay to get two or three if you want them. The kids enjoyed the activities provided by the property. One thing I was surprised by was that the property didn't mention a time share program to me. We booked the Deluxe Oceanfront Suite so my review pertains primarily to that room. Check-in experience was great - we arrived around 1 PM and the room was ready. Obviously the location is 5 stars, the resort is well maintained and it never felt as crowded as Maui so I would give that 4 stars, the room itself was also 4 stars - decently appointed but not worth $1k+ a night. If the hotel would be willing to solve their parking problem, this would be a 4 star experience. Sadly, they refuse to do that and, particularly their beach lot which happened to be next to our room, was always full during the day (empty at night) simply because they allow everyone to park there (the public lot is insufficient for the non-guests crowds at the beach). This could easily be solved but they simply prefer not to. Overall this is the better Sheraton option on the island - see my other review for the Sheraton Coconut Beach.

The backyard and the pool: beautiful. Sometimes we decided to hang out at the pool the whole day. One day Dan came over and we picked fresh coconuts from the palm tree. For our stay at the beach, they handed out boogie boards and fins. Kila gave us the sports, playing in the garden. But beware, you will never catch her. ^^ Lynettes breakfast is amazing, with home roasted coffee, eggs, pancakes and her famous banana-syrup. She surprised us every morning inclusive a self made chocolate-espresso birthday cake. Wow. Poipu itself is the most beautiful spot on Kauai and Dan, Lynette & Kila gave us an unforgettable stay no hotel can do. Thanks so much guys!

Got some supplies and got here around 1:30 pm. Surprise that they had our room ready for us. The lady who helped us was really nice. Check in was a breeze.thanked us for our loyalty and showed us the resort on the map. I was surprised that we were on the first floor. I usually like the top floor since you don't heard the neighbors as much. Plus when we got to the room it had rails in the bathroom which means handicapped. Which I don't like. The wife said t was fine so I didn't complain. One thing I am not to keen on is the wristband key card. Everyone knows that you are staying at the hotel which is good and bad. It identifies you right away to everyone including the locals. I always get mistaken for a local so this can be bad. So when away from the resort I put it in my pocket. The room was clean but seemed small than my other timeshares in Hawaii. We were here for only a week and just the two of us so I didn't bother. Notes about the room. The shower curtain was weak and didn't really stop the water so always water at the foot of the tub. There is only one mirror in the bathroom and no full length one in the room. The washer and dryer are a combo and take at least 3 hours for a load. You can't do 2 loads at a time. I feel like there isn't enough lighting in the room. Plus no night light to get around at night so you have to turn on a light which wakes up the wife. The resort was ok and the pool was outside our room. Pretty quiet place. No services at this pool. You had to go to the main Sheraton Resort across the street for a larger pool and food and drink service. Plus three restaurants are at that location but none at our villas. I guess they expect most people to cook in their rooms or bbq. They wanted me to do an owners update but I'm done with those. So they gave me some points and a free bag. Talked awhile with Antonio our assigned concierge who was very friendly. The beach area is very clean, not much debris in the sand. It is totally walkable. We had a great vacation and would come here again. I was on the first floor. Next time I am asking for the highest floor. I don't know why I got this floor as i never do. Too much noise from the neighbors and bugs. There was a cockroach in the dishwasher when we used it. Yuck. Plus everyone can see into your room. The higher floors are harder to see in. Much better. You can leave the curtains open and not worry like you do here . Less real light. Still a nice place to stay.

Great experience on a beautiful property…read more There are so many negative reviews but that was not my experience and another group of friends stayed here. We both rented off AirBnB from completely different people and we both had great experiences. I live in Hawaii. Not on Kauai, but I think what people expect is the beauty, which it is, with the aloha, which it has, and to be pampered, which you can have... but you have to give a little too. There will be chickens and roosters. Bugs exist. Everything is slow on Kauai and like 5x slower than island time on Maui and 10x slower than Oahu. Now, bed bugs and that sort of thing, no, you should not have to deal with that! I read those reviews, and that is unfortunate. This location is massive. Each building has three floors, all walkup. (No elevators) some have AC and some do not. Some have carpet and others are renovated with hardwood throughout. Some have surfboards and body boards, some only have sand toys. Some are a couple of hundred per night and others, over $1K U.S. It depends when and how you book. Read as much as you can. I will make sure to write a review for the unit I stayed in on the AirBnB after reading these reviews. The bed was SO comfortable. I crashed out. My only complaint was the unit I was in did not have creamer for the coffee. A lot is probably due to how a store is located across the street or you can grab some at the onsite cafe... but still. Coffee was available, and no sugar or creamer. It was clean. Tons of towels. The kitchen had everything. Dishwasher. Everything to cook with. Extras. A great spice rack. A little set to accompany a mini bar (no mini bar) but you could mix drinks and cork wine. Extra blankets. A huge lanai. Lots of shampoo and conditioner, lotion, soap. . . 2 parking spaces provided. 4 towels cards for the beach. Free chairs at the beach to use (1st come 1st serve). Cafe on property. Two restaurants at the front of the property at other hotels, but very accessible. Across the street, many food options and a market, very easy walk. The pool and hot tub are further down and across the street, walk or short drive. I would request this spot so seek out Unit 315 in Building 39.

Located right on the ocean, we had a remarkable view of Hoai Bay and Prince Kuhio Beach from our living room/dining room as well as our Lanai. We enjoyed relaxing on the lanai, listening to the waves and watching for sea turtles, which was saw many! Locals would come to the beach to fish and even that was fun to watch! There's also a ton of roosters and chickens, and the roosters crow all day, not just in the mornings lol! We also saw thousands of rose ringed parakeets flying into the area in the morning and flying out at night! Showers and foot baths were located in the parking lot to rinse off prior to returning from the beach. We had to take our trash out a couple of times during our stay, and that was located at the end of the parking lot near the BBQ area. The staff was friendly, although our interaction with them was minimal. One kind gentleman on staff offered to take my trash for me and told me to go enjoy my day, that taking out the trash was a horrible thing to have to do on vacation! I only wish the facility had a pool, but based on the fact the backyard of the grounds in literally the ocean, I get why they don't offer that amenity lol!
