I had the Lonestar and the brisket was so incredibly tender . a tiny bit dry but nothing a little sauce didn't solve . The Pier is to die for teriyaki shrimp and pineapple the seasoning nicey spicey exactly how i like it ! I went back for seconds on the Pier . The shrimp was perfect not rubbery or overcooked . Food came out in minutes and had a big selection of sauces for your tacos or burgers. Initially came in for tacos and then realized that one taco for $4-$5 was outrageous so I got a smash burger because I thought the pricing was a bit more sensible. Smash burger is nothing to write home about and is smaller than it seems. Flavor tasted like my dad made something similar on his grill at home. Carne asada fries seems to also lack flavor but is the right amount of flavor for the people of Simi Valley. Thin cut fries with a weird imbalance of fries to sauce. I prefer half and half but they were really heavy on the toppings. Would come again if I really just needed a burger that wasn't in n out but I typically go to Makenna for their coffee. This place was recommended to me by my neighbor. So far I have only tried some of the coffee drinks. I enjoyed the blended drink I ordered. And it was reasonably priced. My neighbors ordered quite a few different tacos that smelled amazing. I will definitely be going back soon to try the food. The menu is so big. It's really hard to choose because there are so many items. Hopefully soon they will have a big menu to view. They were just taped up in the walls so it was hard to view with two people and look at them standing in line. I felt pressured to hurry up and order because of the set up. But the employees were very friendly and helpful. The salsa bar they had sounded awesome. They had quite a few to choose from. The flavors sounded great.
