    Hand sewn leather crossbody bag.

10 out of 10 would do again- actually already signing up for another class. Love the concept behind Maker's Mess where they offer different art classes with trendy projects that are easy to learn and fun to take. This is a great place to learn or test out a new craft with space, tools and materials supplied. Took the Guest Teacher workshop with Treasure from Nikki&Mallory Handbags where we made a small leather bag. Treasure was a great instructor- easy to follow and very sincere in her work. Both her and Maker's Mess were beyond accommodating with the project and class.

    Such a cute idea!

Makers Mess was such a cute spot! I found out about them when looking into signing up for a calligraphy class. Then found out about the many art classes they hold, there is everything! The website allows you to sign up for the courses you want to attend. Parking: street parking, some only 2 hours. Inside: it is so clean, bright, and pretty inside! The tables are set for you to plop down. For our event, we were served cheeses, grapes, apples, wine, sparkling water! The classes can range in price so be prepared!

    Modern Calligraphy class.

I took my first Modern Calligraphy class taught by Makers Mess. I absolutely loved it! The place is small, but cozy. The instructor was super sweet and helpful throughout the whole experience. Here's a rough run down, Price: The class was only $46! I generally see classes for $150! It's affordable because it's taught by an employee of Makers Mess. On that note, if you do take a modern calligraphy here taught by a Guest instructor (not a Makers Mess employee), the price is $150. Also, if it's your first time, you get a 10% discount! Duration: 2 hrs. It went by so quickly! Materials: They provide all the materials you need! Alcohol?: The class I took was BYOB, do I brought a personal bottle of wine I bought at a nearby liquor store! Parking: Street parking! I came here at 6:45pm and there was a lot of street parking. Conclusion: If you're a beginner like me, I would recommend taking this modern calligraphy class when then offer it again! The instructor provides basic instructions and techniques on how to start writing in modern calligraphy. After 10 mins, we started practicing on our own and the instructor came around and helped if needed. Literally felt like 2 hrs went by like that. When I went back home, I bought all the materials from amazon, recommended by the instructor. Now to start practicing on my own! They have a variety of workshops; however, the other workshops don't really spark my interest. I guess I'll continue to be on a lookout! Support this small shop! :)

Looking for something different to do? Are you crafty? Are you an Etsy fan? Then Makers Mess is for you! I got word of this place through an Elite event which entailed painting on denim. I went with a girlfriend and we had a wonderful time (even though my horrific painting skills, or lack thereof, messed up my jean jacket. Lol. I decided to give myself another chance and took a girlfriend to the wood burning cheese board class. We had a great time! Maggie, our instructor was super sweet, patient and helpful. Not to mention, it's BYOB!!

One of a kind concrete planters
    Jeff B.

Finally booked a class here! In two hours, our instructors got each of us 20 students to produce a hexagonal concrete planter from scratch. Each were noticeably unique, everyone from what I could tell left pretty satisfied with their creations. Bonus points for the snacks and mimosas they had arranged for us to enjoy before class. The types of making activities as well as the class prices seem to vary greatly week to week. Thank you Maker's Mess for teaching me something new today! (Parking is rough around here. Try some of the nearby neighborhoods instead of the actual street it's on.)

    Art show!

I came here for an art event, "Face Off," this past Saturday! This was my first time at this studio. I've taken a class before with Makers Mess but it was at a different location. So it was cool to get to know their studio. Also, I got to meet Rebecca, she was so sweet! There were fruity pebble snacks and wine to munch on while looking at the art. Street parking was available!

    Abstract painting class

I finally did one of those things I've always wanted to do and signed up for an art class! I heard about Makers Mess and selected a class and showed ready to get messy and artsy. The instructor was so gracious and made the material easy to approach (the snacks and wine didn't hurt either) If you're already artsy and crafty or have no artistic ability at all it doesn't matter! You will be welcomed here. I came home a little piece of art work I'm really proud of and I know I will return in the future. Parking is really easy and they also have classes for the kids if you're looking for that.

I took a class (candle making & marble painting) with a couple friends for my birthday. It was by far the best decision I made that day. Our instructor, Sadye, was fabulous. She explained everything clearly and emphasized how we could recreate these projects at home by directing us to websites where we can buy the best supplies. Even my friend who is not at all crafty enjoyed herself. Do not hesitate to book a workshop with Makers Mess!

Do they serve alcohol? Or is it bring your own?

When I went, they served us mimosas! But I'd check with them as it probably varies event to event.

To add to this, we needed to be buzzed in so we could enter the premise. Once we were inside, the ambiance changed completely and there were a couple of IG worthy spots to take pictures while checking in. We opted for the spinning art experience since my daughter is too young to partake in the more elaborate ones. Originally, we booked for 4 people but one person got sick so we asked if we could transfer the funds for that person for another experience since there are no refunds. Luckily, was able to contact them the day before and added the bunny paint pour over experience. Ozzie was our guide and he was super kind and gentle with my daughter. We were instructed to pick 5 colors and then we donned our plastic bootie covers, apron and gloves. We entered our designated art room and was blown away by all the colors on the wall. There was even a tire swing which my daughter was all about. The spinning art experience was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing my daughter embrace the paint. I think her favorite part was when she had free rein to paint all over the walls. Overall, we had a great time. Only down side is that it does go by super quick and is quite an expensive experience for one hour. However, we get to have a treasured memento which is ready for pick up about 5 days afterwards and we did have a great time. That being said, #noragrats!

If you venture past the rainbow quilts all the way to the back you will find a treasure trove of Juki sewing machines, set to host a group of new to advanced sewers along with a large table area in the back for a variety of craft projects. My children are in 1st and 4th grade and enjoyed the 2 part Crochet class. When it was a bit difficult for my younger one, Debbie scaffolded the entire thing and made it possible for her to learn, feel successful, and feel like part of the group. We have also tried the finger knitting blanket class and now my 4th grader can make gorgeous blankets for friends and family. The sewing classes for 8+ are incredible. My eldest has loved going in to learn how to make tote bags, pillow cases, and a variety of other sewing projects. They also have camps, which we are eager to try someday. Most recently we hosted a very special birthday party here and I can share that it was incredible, lovely, and probably the most present I've ever been able to be at one of my kid's birthday parties, considering Debbie took on most of the labor! 11 children made pillows together, along with adorable rainbow keychains and they really had a blast. I was so impressed to see my little one sewing away on the machine with her dad next to her and the older kids jump right in. Many of them made 2-3 little pillows, even though they had never sewn before! Debbie's instruction is clear, easy to follow, and she has a great deal of patience while sharing how to create these masterpieces. It was really nice having mochi ice cream in the middle table area too- Debbie had everything needed for a party in case things were forgotten. The little fridge helped too! It was very reasonably priced and an unforgettable experience for the kids. We hope Meraki will be on this cute corner for many years to come!

The instructor was very helpful, attentive, and fun, engaging us all in conversation as we whittled/carved. All the tools provided were of great quality, and they offer a ton of other classes that also seemed really interesting, with one of the people in the class talking up having taken stain glass earlier. I went solo, as did several other folks at my table, so it was a good mix of individuals, couples, and groups all coming together for spoons!
