Claire is a fantastic owner and the personal French press coffee trays are literally the cutest things I've ever seen. For those of you who prefer to be styled like a wild tiger (stripes and crooked hair), this place is for you. 2) they push their wannabe ouai (same pronunciation but different product) brand on you to buy for outrageous prices. I need a hair cut, not a Sephora ad in my face. 3) the prices are not commensurate with their skills or products and the customer service is tone deaf e.g., why would I want to let them "fix" my hair when they were the one who created the problem? Unfortunately they refused to give me any refund (aside from the money back they charged me for time not spent) and my chase sapphire credit card was no help to recoup any of the costs. I had to shell out an additional $300 to remedy the unfortunate hair situation they created. Save your money and go somewhere with stylists who know what they're doing.

It's located on H street so there's limited street parking but I lucked up and found a spot right outside of the salon. Upon entry, we were greeted right away with a smile. Our stylist was Sophia and she was finishing up with a client. A few minutes later, we were greeted by the stylist and lead upstairs. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She made my daughter's first haircut memorable and she loves the finished product. The process was amazing but it was a bit pricey. Sophia worked really well with natural hair so I plan on going back soon for a trim.

    If you have fine 3B curls, I would be very cautious about booking with Sabrina Elyse…read more I went in for a color and a trim, but she convinced me to let her "give my hair some dimension." Instead, she heavily debulked my already fine hair and cut off several inches that I never asked to lose. I remember her turning me toward the mirror at the end of the appointment and instantly bursting into tears. I was devastated. My hair looked dry, uneven, and nothing like I had just left a salon. I was then ushered to the register and charged full price. Looking back, I still can't believe a stylist would let a client leave with their hair looking the way mine did. The photos speak for themselves: my hair was fuller and healthier before the appointment, and afterward I lost a significant amount of density and shape. I literally couldn't look in the mirror without crying for months. It has taken me a long time to regrow and recover from this haircut. I'm not writing this because I dislike Sabrina personally or because I'm seeking a refund. I'm writing it because I don't want someone else with fine curls to have the same experience I did (especially after spending over $200). This happened a while ago, and I sincerely hope her technique has improved since then. But based on my experience, I can't recommend her for fine curly hair.

Listen, I can make this review absolutely ridiculous; and I intend to. However, I want to get down to the hot points: 1. Why is this the exact salon of my dreams? How yall do that? 2. Is it just me or do you feel love upon entry? 3. I know you ain't just lay a luxurious blanket upon my bodice while also sitting me in a massage chair. Laying special scrub and tea upon my scalp.. this is a sensory overload.. imma let you finish. 4. Why am I floating on cloud 9 after my hair wash? Do you need my money? 5. This salon is hitting on all cylinders and I'm overwhelmed with goodness. Please, don't stop serving me. 6. Now we in this braid down for the install and it's serious. Feels like a geometry class and someone is taking the AP course. Its getting technical. 7. Here we go with the major event.. The hair install and from the conversation, sour sop tea and overall authentic interaction; I'm feeling more cared for by the second. 8. Girl who made this tea and why aren't you selling this? 9. Consulting with me and asking pertinent questions gone make me fall in love... too late.. 10. Baby, you ain't have to cut my sew-in, tussle curl it and send me in my way like that. That was exceptional. Overall: I'm sitting on my couch, in my house, just 1 hr after leaving the salon. Bonnet on just how Ngina (my stylist) told me. There are so many things I can say. I already did above but to add good measure; this is an experience salon. A moment to give great pause and allow a fully staffed beauty team to treat you. The seamless care and consideration I got today made me feel elated to pay my bill. Do you need my money? I shall sleep and bask in these memories. I've already set my appointment for the end of the month. I'm missing you already.. Now, I know I didn't drop photos on you.. just know im serious about protecting my likeness. This place deserves all the acclaim that's coming their way. A full head to toe Beauty Service (hair, body, nails, toes, wax, sauna. I'm missing a few services. I'm sure of it. All that to say, ah yo go get taken care of. Arrive to a sensory, aromatic overload of goodness. Now, imma go to bed, floating on sunshine. Ngina, thank you for restoring so much within me in one hair style. Happy Birthday Sweet Darling and thank you for creating a space fit for me. ;

I received confirmations beforehand and the staff even checked to see if I needed anything else. LOVE. I get there and OMG. It's serene, clean, and a good-smelling machine. It smelled FIRE throughout. Not overwhelming but so pleasant. The decor was stunning. So pretty and luxurious. But really, the service? TUHHHH. INCREÍBLE. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the women at the front desk, onward, every single employee who walked by or guided me from point A to point B was sooo kind. This is big for me: EVERYONE SPOKE. Anyone working here who crossed my line of vision SPOKE TO ME kindly and in a welcoming way. They do nails, hair, massages, all types of things - it's a wholeeee spa and the owner (obviously a Black woman and bosssssss) did her thing here. Now, as for my mani/pedi: also great. Haha. If you were expecting something different, I have nothing for you. Alayna did a fantastic job and took her time. They have Dazzle Dry! She was thorough and even made product recommendations for my feet since I do so much yoga. I can't wait to come back. It's so unsuspecting outside but the inside is incredible.
