The menu had a lot of local lobster options. We were traveling through the area on vacation and the restaurant came recommended by a local we asked for recommendations while shopping nearby. Known for their jumbo lobster however there are options for the non-seafood lover as well. The lobster portions varied in size by pound to meet any need. The lobster also had many options for preparations hot, cold, butter, cracked, full, etc. There was plenty of parking and likely a hot spot during prime season. Upon entry to the restaurant the aroma of stale lobster greeted you. The service was good but slow and the reastraunt was not crowded with less than 10 percent of the tables full. We had dinner at the restaurant but took key lime pie to go. The key lime pie tasted like it had been basted in lobster water since it was precut, wrapped in plastic shrink, and stored in a clear glass turntable in the main dinning area. There were signs posted for happy hour specials for the day and time we were there but the server said they did not have a happy hour. We have not eaten here since 2020, it's been a while. Our meals were good. I appreciate the effort the staff put in to have a special mardi gras menu and we enjoyed trying a few items from it. Our server, Lilly, was very good. I'm always impressed when a server does not write down anything and gets it right. I can't do that and she was correct about everything we ordered. It's been 20 years since I was here. Back then this was a upscale yet affordable restaurant to go on date night. So I went there with my family tonight thinking I would relive some of the old days. When we walked in, it was definitely not anywhere near upscale. They had some kind of live music playing in the bar and we were ushered into a back dining room by ourselves. The booth they put us in seem to be about 50 years old and my back is still hurting from its lack of comfort. Our server looked like she was about 19 and absolutely clueless. We ordered our drinks and it took about 10 minutes to get those, two beers and three waters. We ordered some chowder and bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers and a fisherman's platter to share for the table . The appetizers took about 40 minutes to come out. She had come by to tell us that a large table asked her 100 questions and only ended up ordering a salad. Don't know what really happened there. The charter was OK and the bacon wrapped scallops were good. The fisherman's platter was $39 and not even close to being worth it. There was one piece of fish, maybe six whole clams, six scallops, And a few shrimp with onion rings and fries. Always got great pieces of fish, great service, great onion rings and fries. Suddenly the tartar sauce changed from the luxurious (home made?) stuff with onion and other stuff in it, to being a bland cheap mayo dip with a tiny amount of relish in it. I was like OK, fine.. Then next time we went in they changed the bread to some nasty stuff not like the old bread they serve and the portion of fish to way less. We used to have about 5 pieces or nuggets of fish to bring home after eating 3, now we eat two pieces and have 2 left. They also changed the onion rings and fries, my mom likes fries but also likes onion rings like me. I usually order them even though it's an up charge. They changed the rings and the batter now sucks. Mom said the fries changed too and she doesn't like them. We went and they weren't busy but it was V-day and the service was horrible, the waiter was inattentive got our order wrong (burnt fish) and kept forgetting to bring stuff like the extra lemon. We ask for the fish to be lightly fried, which makes it so it's not so dark and burnt looking, it really makes the fish taste better if you never tried this. This usually isn't a problem but someone forgot to check the timer or something that day and burnt our fish. I wanted to complain to management but my mom is a Christian lady and she doesn't believe in complaining. She will NOT complain even when these travesties have been taking place. They are very lucky she goes out with me because I would be talking to management demanding my money back. I still tip though because she forces me to, I didn't want to tip that a-hole. Regardless, they have lost our business thus far in the year. That's 2 Fridays per month times 5 months now they've lost out on a lot of business. We haven't been back since V-day!!!!! My wife and I stopped in for lunch today, been meaning to since we noticed it on our monthly trips to Sam's Club. Pretty empty when we arrived (Wednesday noon). Dining area was nice, with large flatscreens on each wall. Could see a large adjoining bar, have to check it out on a future trip. Server came by immediately and took our drink orders (I will ALWAYS order Maine Lunch draft beer when available!). Returned quickly with our drinks and took our food order. The server (Caitlyn?) was very quick, probably because we were her only table so early. Wife ordered the steak & cheese sub (really prime rib!), and I tried the grilled chicken Caesar wrap. Both were very good, filling, fresh, and they didn't scrimp on the protein. The included fries and pickle were also good. Server was fast with the bill (at my request), and we got out as quickly as we'd hoped. Very good value as well ($42 + tip). We look forward to returning, hopefully for dinner or to see a Pats or Celtics game at the bar.
