    Scallop roll and Onion Rings
    Kelly D.

Grabbed a late lunch here on the way to the white mountains during Labor Day weekend. I got the scallop roll and was very satisfied. Fried scallops were tender & juicy. They tasted fresh and the scallop flavor was very prominent. They were a good size (about a 2 inch diameter and 3/4 inch thick), not the tiny bay scallops. Batter was thin and crisp. Portion size was generous for this particular dish. Scallops were overflowing in a toasted and buttered New England style hot dog bun. Onion rings were the type with real onions in them, but the rings were cut much thinner than most other places. They were coated with the same crisp thin batter from the scallops. They were a bit plain, but were a good vehicle for tartar sauce and ketchup. Both scallops and onion rings were not oily. Lobster rolls were ok, but understuffed. The Texas Burger was lacking as the party was very thin and most of the width of the sandwich was made up with lettuce. Flounder was used for the fish and chips. The breading again was thin and crisp. Flounder tasted fresh and was light and delicate. It was a contrast to the thicker cod that is usually used in fish and chips. Chips were crinkle fries that were plain tasting. Soft serve has several options for flavor swirl-ins including some unusual ones like blue goo and green apple. I went with a more mainstream butterscotch. The butterscotch ratio to vanilla was on point. Seating was outdoors, but there is a small enclosure if the bugs are too much. Since it was the last weekend of the season they ran out of their popular items such as the fried clams. I even got the last of the soft serve. Would stop by here if passing by here again in the summer.

I stopped here for a late lunch on a hot & sunny afternoon. The Brick House Drive-In offers burgers, hot dogs, grinders, fries, onion rings, fried seafood items, chicken tenders, Coke products, slushes, and ice cream treats (shakes, frappes, floats, sundaes, waffle cones) featuring several flavors of Gifford's Ice Cream. You order and pay at the right window and pick up your food at the left window. Picnic table seating located on the north side of the building. I ordered the Fish & Chips Plate ($5.95) and a large Thick Coffee Shake ($2.35). The 3 pieces of fish were hot & tasty, but very greasy on the outside. The fries were fried golden brown to perfection. The crispy cole slaw was good & sweet. The Thick Shake was very good, refreshing and hit the spot. The service here was friendly.

"When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Welp, my sources informed me that meant "visiting a clam shack during the summah" so of course I had to! Sure they have hotdogs and hamburgers, but I figured that 1) those are so prevalent and 2) I'm not even sure how much longer I'll be living here that I shouldn't even bother unless they are highly-touted. No. It's either the lobster or some sort of friend clam/seafood if you're an out-of-towner. Hence, I opted for the fried clam roll. Fried clams for most of the US refers to slices of large surfer clams, however, this restaurant also sells whole clams (aka clam bellies). For around $8, you get a rather small sandwich so I recommend spending an extra $3.40 to upgrade to a plate with fries and slaw if you are actually hungry. Plot twist, this new england clam shack served honey sriracha fries! I was a bit surprised. You don't get too much honey or sriracha flavor but the fries were crispy and light. I feel like it's common for restaurants to just half-ass fries so this was nice. As for the clams, I enjoyed that light/crispy fried exterior and the bread was soft - perfect for a clam roll. They have local ice cream here and also offer frappes (milkshakes) on the menu. Service was friendly enough. There is a seating area outside as well as a covered shed to keep some flies away. Though I'm not blown away (or even really impressed by their food), I still pleased with their food. Sounds like an A-ok place to me!

Classic wrap job for the chicken tender sandwich

Best Chicken Tender Sandwich in the State? I've been going here for years and love the place. It's your classic New England mom and pop summer clam shack. Food is terrific, service is fast, and nice people working there. The hot dogs are grilled - not steamed, as are the rolls. The onion rings are the best around - made there, not frozen and cooked. Clam strips are great - I'm too cheap to get the whole clams! Haddock is superb. The chicken tender sandwich at only $4.25, is off the charts. Nice fresh, perfectly cooked white meat, on a burger roll with a little mayo - love it. Super deal! I keep telling the owners, Rosanne and Gary, to open year round, but they like going to Key West for the winter. Key West over Hooksett - you kiddin' me???

Banana split with nuts. Just under $8. Very good but i get larger splits at other spots.

Not the best grub but still above average. The fries are crinkle cut. Buffalo tender plate was good but lil pricy for the size. They sell slush puppies which i enjoy too. Lg are $2. Ice cream flavors rotate regularly so if you see an odd flavor you might like then try it ASAP.

Ode to the Brick House, how do I count the ways.... Can you tell I love this place? The chicken tenders are exquisite. They manage to be tender, moist, AND crispy. The lobster roll is not overly creamy, has the right amount seasoning, and a nice warm roll to go with it (I just wish it was bigger). Their ice creams and frappes make us New Englanders proud too. The two things that aren't so great are: there's no restroom (hello porta-potties!); and they're closed in the fall and winter. The staff are uber friendly and courteous. Worth the trip, if you don't live nearby.

I was heart broken but it was my own undoing as I djdnt make a reservation. Just as I was opening yelp to find another place to try she came and got me from outside as a spot opened up! That's service! And I won't forget it. All the staff was very kind and she checked in with me several times during my meal to make sure it was going well. The ambiance is a little noisy but it's a raw bar that has sports on. The food is delicious. I could have eaten the Cippino forever! The broth was a complex delicious and perfectly spiced tomato base. The seafood was plentiful and large sized. I have never seen shrimp so big! I also ate oysters and had an amazing home made peaches and cream cheese cake. Listen I don't really like cheese cake but I could eat that cake everyday for the rest of my life. Everything from start to finish once I sat down. Was delicious and the staff was very kind. This food was fired fresh in the kitchen. I could see if from my bar seat. Staff appeared uninterested and inattentive, and we had to repeatedly ask for basic items. The food did not justify the prices at all. The seafood was overcooked, lacked flavor, and did not taste fresh. Portions were small for what you pay, and the presentation was careless. Overall, this restaurant is overrated and did not live up to expectations. I won't be returning and would not recommend it unless there are serious improvements in both service and food quality.

Wonderful little lunch stop!…read more It was full of locals and regulars and on a wait for lunch. At that moment I knew I had picked a good spot! We chilled with the folks up front for a good bit before getting a table. It seemed we were the only people that had not been here 30-40 times before. Most people didn't even want menus and the sweet server ladies just brought them food without conversation at all. It's kind of old school feeling inside. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. Inside is all wooden and rustic. It reminds me of my grandmas house in Camden TN. Not sure why. It's just really comfortable in here to me. The tile and fireplaces make super cozy. This place has some of the best chili that I have had in a long time. I dig the fact they give tortilla shops automatically with the chili. Win!! Thick and meaty and oh so filled with spice and love!! Cheese on top was a nice touch too. Really liked it! My French dip was fucking killer!! So damn big too! I could only eat half of it because of the the fire ass chili I had already eaten. French fries were battered type. Nothing wrong with that!! I drove around with this sandwich for two days of travel and ate it on the road later. Stupendous French dip!! C had an open faced roast beef sandwich. FIRE!! The green beans were so pretty and fresh too. She could barely get 1/3 down, lol. It was a ton of food. Economical! Hometown feel! Good people working and eating here! I love it!! I'm not even sure I could find the place again. I sure am glad I did the first time! '26 -39

I would give 4.5 stars if I could…read more.. What's stopped me from rating this a 5? Well, the service was a LITTLE off. But I attribute this to the fact that the bartender was training somebody new (and we were sitting at the bar because there were no tables available). The fact that there were no tables available is entirely our fault, the fact that the bartender was busy training somebody new was only slightly off-putting. The ambiance, lakefront dining was incredible. But here again, only SLIGHTLY off-putting, was the fact that the sliding glass doors were not wide open on this beautiful August day. I think the breeze off the lake would've been better than the air conditioning. I'm stretching a little bit for the negatives... the positives were too numerous to mention all of them. Simply put, the food was amazing. Totally unexpected for a small town in Sunapee, New Hampshire. Our dishes, from the appetizers to the main courses were totally unexpected, in a very positive way. I wish I took more pictures. But we were busy enjoying our food. I will come back to this place in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

In our time here, the only person who would need training on customer treatment. But that shouldn't ruin a good evening, and the rest of our time here was superb. The staff, one noted exception, was superb. Smiles, excellent service and great food. Our waitperson was Erin, just a breath of fresh air. I was pleasantly surprised seeing waitpersons assist each other picking up tables and cleaning before the next course. Awesome work. I had the Salmon Poke which was delicious. It is indeed raw but well condimented and delicious. My other half had the chicken kimchi bowl and this too was amazing. We washed it down with two Sauvignon Blancs as dessert was coming.
