We went to a 7:30 show 2 wks ago. The lobby was crowded so my husband waited till after the movie started to go to the snack bar. They had a sign up that they were done serving for the night. It was a weekend night and they had at least 5 employees we saw. This location seems to have just given up to Collierville being superior. The facility needs an overhaul and their service is non existent. Very disappointing. read more

This remains my family's favorite movie theater. It's usually calm and quiet here, which is exactly what we want when watching a film. Our course, the snacks and drinks are very expensive, but my understanding is that's how Malco makes enough money in order to stay in business. read more

Loved everything about it before they hired an annoying manager who kicks people out, and is unpleasant and unwelcoming and there is one employee who was smoking outside and when i ask what movie to see she immediately responds with " if you sneak in, we will kick you out. Don't even try that." it seems those two people's treated us bad for our age. But some of the employees are really nice. read more

Totally biased review here. This is the theatre I grew up with. Twenty years plus starting with the Blair Witch Project or The Waterboy. Anyway, it's been updated, though not to the full on recliner standard. The staff is nice, the ticket purchase/admission process a breeze. Food is slightly above standard movie fare. Crowds are usually East Countian in their disposition; if you're into a rollicking good time sharing every scream and boisterous laugh with your fellow film-goers, try somewhere else. Decided to go to Malco to see a movie for the first time in months. Since when doesn't Malco offer popcorn refills?

This is my favorite of all theatre's around my house. It's just perfect for my needs. Its hardly ever that busy and you won't deal with any riff raff from out of control kids or rude, loud people that seem to visit most other theatre's I've been to. It's got plenty of leg and elbow room in every seat. The seats are fake leather and a really comfy. The aisles are also nice and wide. You don't even have to move for someone to walk by. The people that work here are nice, and competent as well, which is a plus. They speak and understand English also. It's a shame that's even a comment I had to make... The snack bar is way overpriced but they all are. We normally just walk on by. A family of four is already $35 just to get in. My kids are even like what,? $6 for a drink? If you must go to the movies I totally do not recommend you go here. Stay as far away as you can. Paridiso, Olive Branch, Cordova, and even Majestic are much better choices! read more

We love the fact we can buy our tickets online ahead of time. We liked the freshly popped popcorn. The cashier upon entering was very nice. We hit a 4:10 matinee. The seats were very comfortable and were stationed in a slightly reclined position. What worried us was when I went to the bathroom (mid-movie) the lobby was empty. I mean EMPTY, no employee to be found behind the counter or anything. When the movie was over and we were leaving, husband made a pit stop by the restroom. I stayed in the lobby to observe an elder man walking around looking for help. I attempted to help him find an employee by calling to the back behind the register. Nothing. It was eerily odd. I wondered if the employee was hurt somewhere and nobody knew? Needless to say we left and hope that everything was alright. read more

Nice theater, good comfortable seating. Good sound system. Sometimes not good choices in movies but generally something interesting is available. It's getting a poor review due to their reserved seating system. It's a good thing it's not very busy because the system is pretty cumbersome and doesn't work very well. We bought our tickets at home, the clerk took four tries to be able to retrieve them. You have to make sure you bring your phone with you with the receipt on it to get your ticket. The extra fee to purchase the tickets is just a blatant cash grab. Easier to go somewhere else where it's easier to buy a ticket and you don't get hit with extra airline style surcharges. read more

Not too shabby for a small town, homey, little cinema 8 theatre. While I've been in nicer and larger theaters, I've also been in older and yuckier ones too. Overall, it's a small scale theater with clean and updated seating. I'd give this a solid 4 stars for this neighborhood hangout. Parking. Easy, painless and a nice, big lot. Tickets. We had no line, no wait in fact it was so quiet the night we went, the ticket counter was closed and we had to buy them at the concession stand! You can also buy tickets with their free app! $11 for evening ticket. Concessions. Well... It's a small theatre, so don't expect to eat your dinner while catching the latest flick, but as long as it has popcorn and m&m's, I'm happy. Just the normal movie snacks and sodas, nothing crazy. The kid working was pleasant and receptive. Theatre. This wasn't a large space but... Who cares! The seats were amazing! Obviously it's been a while since I've been to a place with nice, cushy, pleather seats...and oh, how I've missed them! There's even a place for my purse and big cupholders too. Of course, Stadium seating! Plus the lower level seating has a ramp for wheel chairs as well. The center isle has 5 seats on each side. Restrooms. Can't report on because I didn't use them! By 9:15pm when our show was over it looked like the theater was nearly closed down! Don't come here expecting to see a show after 7:30p because it's not going to happen...after all, this is the burbs! Hungry for a late dinner or snack? Nope! Inferior in almost every way to their Collierville theatre. But the staff is nice just like the Collierville one. It seems like they're really short staffed. We saw the same woman doing like all the jobs. I like that they're trained to layer the butter for the popcorn here which wasn't the case at Collierville. Seats in this theatre were fine but inferior to Collierville and I'd be willing to pay more for the Collierville ones (it's about a buck cheaper at this theatre for adult prices). Smelled musty and stuffy in our theatre. Maybe because they hadn't run the AC all night? Seemed like the staff got in only 10 minutes before the first show started because the concession stand screens were just booting up when we arrived. There were no ads or trivia running before the movie. Also the reel broke down at the very start of the trailers and we all sat there for about 15 minutes. Finally someone went to tell them and they got it back up and running. Idk. I'd definitely pay the extra cash for a more efficient and better equipped theatre at Collierville. read more

Today was my second visit. Last week my children and I seen Coco which was fantastic. Today we saw Ferdinad. The popcorn was fresh and their hot peppers we so good. The movie was priced cheap I thought and with 2 kids popcorn kits, large popcorn med pop and 2 boxes of can came to almost 40 bucks. The place was clean.. I am impressed with the bathroom. Thank you for having a clean bathroom for me an my chidren. Tgis place s small and feels intimate.It resonates small town with big city equipment. Seating assignments is fairly new here, today someone took my seats c10,9.. so we sat in the very first row.. my neck hurts but my children were happy. When I spoke with the manager and very nice young lady at the ticket boothe, if that should happen again just go to the manager and they will ask them to move. Overall... this place is great.. and when I don't bring the kids ...I plan on getting a glass of wine. read more

I've been here a few times and I enjoy it. You pay two-for-one and get to have some fun. It can be a tad uncomfortable in extreme weather, so pay attention! Also, bring bug-spray! If you're feeling goofy you could always change stations like a friend of mine did and watch your movie with another movie's dialogue. My friend enjoyed it, though with the prices of movies being what they are I'd probably only do so if the movie I was watching sucked really bad. It's a fun experience! read more

It was small and so filthy! My pics don't do it justice. Even my 8 yr old son did not want to sit in his seat. He said it was too dirty and sticky. Floor was covered in food, trash, and stains. This is seriously top notch compared to Cordova or Paradiso theaters. You can casually walk in, get your ticket and food without being run over by rowdy kids/teenagers, and you can peacefully watch your movie without being kicked in the back or smelling sour seats/floors. Is it small and boring? Maybe, but it's clean and you still see the same movie on maybe a slightly smaller screen. I can't tell the difference in screen size. Doesn't matter to me. Having plenty of room to sit, being able to hear my movie that I paid a pretty penny to see, and not feeling grossed out does matter to me. Thankfully there is one Malco theater left that can provide me with that! read more

What a great little cinema. Love the renovation a few years back and definitely love the location relative to my home. Theater always appears clean and seating is spacious and comfortable. Concessions are fresh and they now offer an expanded menu. This is my preferred theater, my only gripe is the new process of reserved seating. I hate it, hence only four stars. 4.5 stars for this updated theater with intelligent and personable staff! It's time to finish the job and redo the restrooms (please)? Each Malco's movies and food are selected with the demographic and the location in mind. Forest Hill doesn't serve wine or fresh food because they serve mostly families. I have been here three times in three weeks, and love that I see fewer cell phones here, fewer chatty teens hangout here. The problems aren't with the moviegoers, usually (though a solo older gentlemen walked into our kids' movie and promptly fell asleep, distracting the whole theater with his snoring). Sometimes the temperature controls are neglected, but they are happy to help with whatever the issue. I'm so happy this theater survived the economic blight that struck the Village Shops of Forest Hill when Shnucks left. I think things are starting to look up for Forest Hill! read more

My preferred choice of Malco Cinemas in the Greater Memphis Area, Forest Hill has undergone some very well planned remodeling in the last couple years. While it is smaller than most modern theaters it excels in service, cleanliness and comfort. The seats are more like big recliners with oversized arm rests and organized so that there is enough space for taller people to cross their legs, as well as keeping the back of your seat from getting kicked by some kid. Not that there are many unsupervised hooligans running around, this is definitely the quietest cinema I've ever been to, mostly small families, and couples. They don't serve beer, wine or liquor, but there are several good restaurants nearby that do! Never had an unpleasant experience here in 5 years! read more

Really like this theater, comfortable seating, friendly customer service, and the option to have a beer or a glass of wine is tops BUT the lack of a handicap accessible door at either entrance is a deal breaker. Just can't believe you would offer handicapped seating and have accessible bathroom facilities but not have the entrance/exits accessible. Thought the ADA made it clear this was nonnegotiable. It might not be important to some people, but to my teenage son, it's very embarrassing and devaluing to have to ask someone to open the door for him. read more

I loved this theater! The seats were VERY comfy and they are so nicely designed. Wide isle walkways. On a Saturday they needed a little help at the snack counter. But even on a Saturday it wasn't super crowded and it felt very at home and not too big like the Paradiso. I would recommend you go here for a very quiet movie experience. read more

This theater is currently mid renovation. It's not gorgeous right now, but it's serviceable. They have added big seats and lots of legroom like at Ridgeway, so that's an upgrade. Hopefully the lobby construction will be done soon. Otherwise, it's a typical Malco with all the new releases. read more

The new seating system is awful. New! When you buy your tickets, you have to select a seat. If you dont like your seat or who you are sitting by...you have to go back to the ticket counter and ask for another seat. No longer can you just move.
