Really, really great food! We had the strawberry salad, Mac and cheese, and blackened shrimp carbonara! All were excellent, fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced. Wine suggestions were also great! We ate on the patio, which has a brilliant and beautiful view of the mountains and gulf course! The service was probably the best part of this restaurant experience! A young waiter from our hometown from Livermore, CA was very nice, helpful, attentive, and respectful! All in all, great restaurant! read more

The outside setting is nice....and that's the only positive. Absolutely terrible customer service. Waited for 10 min to even get acknowledged, then were asked to wait until an open table is cleaned. Another 15 min of waiting and were told that actually some other gentleman asked for the table before us (no sign-up sheet, just a statement.) The said gentleman, who came after us, had a more "refined" look than my little family, so he was given preference... No attempt was made to remedy the awkward situation, no interest from the servers at all. They must be very underpaid and unmotivated. read more

Amazing food. I ordered the bison bacon meatloaf, which happened to just come out of the oven as I ordered and would be another hour or more before it was cool enough to cut. It was one of the only dishes that didn't have grains with it. I asked if they did room service and said they didn't, but in this case they would. It was almost 2 hours before I got the meal, but it was totally worth the wait and the staff was incredible. They got an extra tip for taking customer service to another level. No napkins, appetizers come out after the main meal, only after reminder after reminder, alcohol is we don't have that or that, booooo never ever going there ever again! This is such a torn review and I hate to have to do this, but I'm frustrated that things NEVER get better at one of my favorite places on earth. If you ever get a chance to stay at the Resort at the Mtn...DO. It's amazing. I enjoy my time there so much. It's truly heaven and a home away from home for golfing, swimming, tennis, the SPA is fantastic and one of the best I've been too all over the Pac NW and even Arizona. Mallards...this adorable, gorgeously set café with outside seating overlooking a valley that encompasses part of the golf course...truly one of the most breathtaking places I've ever been to, has the worst, and I mean WORST, service I've ever experienced and it happens again and again and again. The food is decent, but we go for the ambience and the outdoor seating. You won't get what you ordered. You will barely get a smile. The servers seem to be "put out" by your presence. Nothing will be correct. It will take over an hour to have a simple salad...but again, the scenery is to die for. So give it a go, just have zero expectations for a delightful, competent and helpful staff. read more

I agree with JDT.and all the others. The resort is great, and I love to stay there but you will get much better service almost anywhere else than Mallard's. Its true that the food is good but its hard to enjoy because the wait staff seems to be poorly trained. Customer service is sadly lacking.The waiters do seem 'put out' and appear to be inconvenienced by their customers, and the service is slow and inattentive, expect a long wait to get your meal. When I asked the hostess whether they served Sunday Brunch, she said she didn't know.... Disappointing experience for such a beautiful resort. I will still stay at the resort but will eat somewhere else in town when I do. read more

I am giving The Mallard ZERO stars. I would actually like to give it a negative rating, it is that bad. They should pay people to eat there. My in laws live within walking distance so we went there for my birthday. They ranted and raved about this place. I think they need to get out more. The ambiance can only be compared to a dining room in the Portland Rescue Mission. Except I would bet the food at the mission is better. It took 20 minutes after we were seated for anybody to show up. When we finally got to order dinner, it took another 20 minutes to get it. By the time it got to our table, it was cold. My fish and chips were terrible. The batter was soggy and tasted like rancid oil. The fries were just as bad. Then to celebrate my birthday my mother in law wanted to buy me a piece of cheese cake for $7.95. I didn't want to stay there any longer so I got it to go. They brought it in a clam shell container about 8" x 8". The container was so light I thought they had forgotten the cheesecake. When I opened the container the piece was tiny. Less than an inch across the back. They must have had a former diamond cutter working in the kitchen to cut it so small. My wife and I decided to eat it a little later. It was worse than the fish! Have you ever tasted something stale that has been been in the refrigerator a long time? That is the wonderful flavor they recreated. My wife and I each took a small bite this rubbery disgusting blob and we both spit it out. When my mother in law wasn't looking we dropped it in the garbage disposal. read more

Live band was really good. Server came over immediately and took our drink order. The drinks came immediately that's about where the good turned to bad. I ordered the pan fried oysters with fries, garlic bread and clam chowder. The oysters were fishy and mushy and without flavor. I asked for a side of ranch which never came. She never brought our clam chowder and never came back for 30 minutes to see if we wanted more drinks. Terrible service and to top it off it was 18$ a plate! read more

Sunday, we went to a fantastic wedding catered and located at the Resort at the Mountain! The food was excellent at the reception. The following day, a group of us decided to meet up with the bride and groom for breakfast at 10:30am. It was a disaster! The option for breakfast ended at 11am and we were waiting for the remainder of our group to arrive so they extended breakfast for us. The cafe seemed to be very understaffed! Our waitress was the manager, she was waiting on us while tending the bar--needlessly to say, not very attentive. For simple menu items, such as an order of egg whites, shouldn't take over an hour to be made. Food arrival was very inconsistent to the time ordered. They forgot a person's order of waffle and everyone else was almost done eating. The people that joined us an hour later, had food arrive shortly after the waffle finally did (5-10 minutes)! Mediocre food at best. The bride and groom requested their leftover cake to be delivered, not only did it take a substantial amount of time...they brought over the wrong couples' cake. Splitting the check and paying took a long time and many had to leave to get to the airport on time. read more

The one star I am giving this bar is in no way an endorsement, apparently I can't give anything lower? I actually created a yelp account and downloaded an app just to write this review. So it's 7pm on a Saturday and my group has four people in it. It took well over twenty minutes for someone to come take our order. We didn't even end up getting our drinks for another twenty minutes though. My wife ordered a Spanish coffee and it was cold and stale... I get that it can be difficult to deal with people all day, but seriously just do it right the first time and you won't have to listen to me complain! read more

well, this is my first experience yelping as i had not ever felt the need before. However there is no time like th present. My stay at the resort on a whole was not the greatest experience. When we were told there was a Pub open for lunch we were excited since tho only other option was the fine dining restaurant, which we did think was good but were also interested in spending a bit less money for food. We went all the way over there and took a look at the menu. In short it was simply terrible. Basically all seafood, only soup option was clam chowder, and nearly everything was fried. There was no appetizer options except stuffed mushrooms which not surprisingly contained SEAFOOD (oysters to be exact), gross. We settled for a burger and a pear salad. Decent but nothing that would bring you back in for a second time. Highly disappointed. The only reason I give this 2 stars rather than zero is taht the bartender was really great. She was very personable and helped direct us to some great hiking trails and was well informed. We also noticed that the waitstaff seemed very friendly. so if youre looking for drink, this is a good place for that. If you are looking for food, look elsewhere. read more
