Benjamin Moore is fantastic high quality paint with a great selection of colors and there is a paint store in Lynnwood that carries it - Mallory Paint Store. All the prepping, painting and staining items and accessories you need are right here too. The staff is super helpful and nice. The guys at Mallory's fixed the problem by replacing the ruined top coat paint ( which was a good thing) and charged us the difference on an upgrade ( which sort of added insult to injury ) from Benjamin Moore Sure Seal Primer to Benjamin Moore Fresh Start primer. Unfortunately they where not the ones who had to Re Sheet Rock the job to undo the damage caused by the Crappy and/or defective Sure Seal primer. 30 lost man hours, and $100 worth of replacement sheetrock later, we are pleased with the performance of the Fresh Start primer, but mostly this has been a bad experience I wouldn't wish on anyone......well ...maybe some people.... read more

We had our deck painted in 2007 with some Ben Moore Floor & Patio paint, oil-based. I had some leftover but not quite enough to do the job. They had it here. The salesperson was very helpful and gave me some good advice, including straining the old paint to remove the film and other things that may be in the old paint. So I picked up a strainer and a blank can to do the straining. Worked great. Ben Moore makes great paint and this is an excellent store for your painting needs. And my deck looks great. read more

I purchased a some paint this week and after getting home I realized that there had been some confusion with the paint chip I had been using to choose a color. I took the paint back to see if it could be retinted to the color I wanted.. it could not, but Rita helped me and brainstormed a solution to my problem, I walked out with the color I wanted and was very appreciative that Rita took the time and initiative to make sure I left happy.... read more

I think this is the best paint supply store in the region. I drive all the way down from Mount Vernon ( an hour's drive) because they provide such awesome service. Yesterday Brett helped me select the perfect paint color, exactly matching it to a towel I brought in. He was so helpful, kind, and cheerful throughout the process. In the last couple of weeks, I have been very fortunate to work with Sheila Simonson at Mallory Paint Store in Lynnwood. A year ago, I had gone in, picked up some samples, then, preceded getting too busy to actually paint! Long story short, I was helped with picking out great paint, shown the differences in the color palettes and had a clearer understanding that it was going to be OK, whatever I chose. Sheila is patient, personable and very knowledgable. I was, also, assisted by a coworker when I needed help carrying paint to my car. Very appreciated-we'll see you soon for some more supplies. I was referred to Mallory Paint Store in Lynnwood by a professional painter, seeking help finding just the "right" colors of bluish-gray for our newly sided house and a creamy white for the trim. Rita greeted me the first time I walked in the door and helped me select colors I liked within a short period of time. I took a sample of the colors home and returned the following day to get paint. We'd discussed the different types of paint the day before and I chose to go with the 'Ultraspec Exterior Satin' for the trim, and I purchased 3 gallons at a cost of $44.99 each. On the weekend, near closing time, we needed another gallon, so I opted to go to a store near our home in Everett (Hatloe's) who also sell Benjamin Moore Paints. I got my gallon of paint and was more than surprised when I was charged only $32.49. I inquired if that was a sale price and was told it was the regular price ~ $12.50 less than Mallory Paints per gallon! I returned to Mallory the next day and spoke with the man at the counter. I showed him receipts from both stores and asked why there was such a difference. He told me that "from now on, we would be willing to match Hatloe's price." I asked if he would give me the difference in a refund and he repeated the "willing to match in the future" line. I told him I had yet to purchase at least 5 gallons of paint for the house (a more expensive paint) and it would not be from Mallory unless they would compensate me. He shrugged his shoulders and I walked out. I went back to Hatloe's in Everett for the 5 gallons of paint and was even given a discount for buying the 5 gallon container (which Mallory had said they would not discount). The moral of this story is: DO SOME PRICE-CHECKING before you buy your supplies. Benjamin Moore paint is great stuff and Mallory store has a good reputation for helping their customers, but they do not necessarily have the best prices! Hatloe's may be a smaller store but they were most gracious in working with us and saved us money as well. My hunch is that Mallory caters to the professional painters who have accounts with them, but they aren't so generous when it comes to those of us who are do-it-yourselfers. read more
