We scheduled service for the next day, and they spent hours digging up hard clay soil to replace the backflow preventer. After the new backflow preventer was installed, they proceeded to hydro jet our main sewer line from the ground and through a roof vent until it was completely clean. Quoted them $300 and said I hadn't paid and he was going to file a lien. The home owner is a licensed plumber and electrician. He agreed to pay $150. After several attempts he finally called back, yelling and cussing, threatening to file harassment charges for "bothering" him.
