WORST SERVICE CENTER that I have ever dealt with!! I had a appointment after I was contacted and informed the part for my vehicle had arrived. After arriving the dealership and waiting a hour in the customer waiting area I was informed that the part hadn't arrived as I had been told. Can you believe this? " I'm only getting started". I waited a week before contacting the service department to find out if the part had arrived yet and was informed by the servicer writer it would be a few more days. Well I didn't trust his word so I contacted the parts department and was informed that the part had been at the dealership for 5 DAYS! After contacting the service writer once again and informing him that the part had been sitting in the parts dept for five days, he got very defensive but scheduled an appointment for the very next day. I'm assuming to makeup for his dishonesty. . The next day I arrived at the dealership at 8 am I was told that I could wait. After researching the web I was convinced the repair should take about 1 1/2 hours. I was furious when I left 7 hours later because the tech had damage a part trying to remove it and the parts department had to search around to find a replacement!! I was not informed initially about the error until I went to the service manager then the GM . The service writer said NOTHING!! Once again.. lies and excuses. This will be my last visit to this dysfunctional service department and the last time that I purchase a vehicle from this dealership! CHAOS and BSers can only described my experience!! read more

So yesterday 6/17/21 I had an oil change and yearly inspection scheduled at 7:30 AM. When I made the appt. a week earlier via phone I said I would be waiting at the dealership, then repeated this information to Logan Lamb upon arrival. Then something went terribly wrong, after sitting in the waiting room for two hours I went and ask Mr Lamb for the status on my truck, he left to go check and a few minutes later a woman came back to inform me that my paperwork had somehow been mixed up and it would be at least another hour. Needless to say I was ticked off to put it politely. She offered no real apology and said I could leave if I didn't want to wait, but honestly I didn't have the time. So an hour later I had to go check on my truck again, still not ready so I stayed at the registration desk area. Fifteen minutes later the auto technician came with my paperwork and someone ask him what happened to cause such a delay to which he replied, my paper must have gotten shuffled under other papers then finally said "whatever" ,,,don't think he knew I was the customer who had been there for well over 3 hours. Don't even bother with this "business." I scheduled an appointment for warranty repair work on Saturday at 8am. By 3:23, I hadn't heard and followed up. I was told the car was still being worked on. When I arrived at 3:52, the doors were locked and the service adviser had left. I was able to get my keys from a man still there, but it was still unclear if the repair had been done. I followed up on Tuesday, and miraculously they had no record of my car even being there on Saturday. I left my number to get a call-back and didn't hear back. I decided to follow up again Thursday, and still got no clear response if the work had been done. It seems no one in the service department knows anything about a car that was left with them. I have the tags that were placed in my car as well as on my keys, the 3 emails, and 3 text messages reminding me of the appointment. I guess I'm better at documentation than a business. If you value communication, knowledgeable staff, and trust the security of your vehicle, DO NOT take your car here for service. Calling this a business is a joke! Needless to say, I do not trust Malloy Ford of Charlottesville with any service or future car buying. I'd rather drive to another dealership hours away before trusting any property with these individuals. read more

He was both honest and approachable. I am loyal to Ford, I have had Ford cars my whole life, and my parents have had Ford cars their entire lives. I have gone to Kimnach Ford in Norfolk, Cowles Ford in Prince William, Ted Britt in Fairfax, and Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg. I even bought from Steven Toyota in Harrisonburg once because they had a used escape that was excellent. we have owned: Taurus 2006 which I owned for almost 10 years and now running great with my sister-in-law, a F150 which we owned for a solid 13 years just traded in for a new F150 4x4 2015 (my dads), a Ford Escape 2007 manual (loved loved and bought USED) driven for 2 years and gifted to our mother-in-law, a Ford Escape 2013 (moms and she's still driving it), a used Ford Escape hybrid 2009 (bought used and amazing, my husband drives it), and I had a Ford Focus 2014. It was a baby and it was a Beauty to me. It was my first completely brand new car, on my own, and had everything I wanted (modestly)- winter package, excellent tires, sun roof, and a mere 12,000 ish miles on it. I was going to keep this thing until my kids could drive it. We moved and bought a house- so here's the kicker, we are here for AWHILE (no Malloy for me) -- and to my dismay I had to trade in my car because we live in a rural area so I needed 4x4. So we thought, we have to trade in our car. I hate buying a car if mines still running- if you look carefully at our history, ALL our cars ran for 10 years OR is still in the family. But I had to. So imagine my resistance. I am not new at buying cars, not new to Ford, and not new at knowing what I want. We go to Malloy expecting the same great service I get everywhere else- and the same HONESTY and INTEGRITY I got everywhere else for as long as I could remember... We go to Malloy and ask for the new escape 2016 price, and we show them the Internet price. And it is marked up to 30,000!! we asked where did the extra 8,000 come from? And we were talked down to like we didn't know what we were doing. We said fine, we believe all the "extra talk" you're saying that nova is screwing you over with prices... They also did not want to give us more than 9,000 on my Ford Focus after the SALES REP briefly looked at it on the outside for about 20 seconds, checked the miles, and opened two doors to the car for another 10 seconds. We told them our request to not go over 300 monthly- and the same guy throwing car jargon around told us "well we have a great offer for you, when would you like to sign". The paper said 380. My husband started putting on his coat, as this was the second round, and they went up both times. Then they scrambled and tried to get us to purchase, and we said we would look at used cars. Already my heart is sinking and my gut is telling me no. However I felt pressured because I drive on the mountain everyday and my husband told me he worries about me everyday. So, we take a look at their used cars, and we go for the escape 2012. I love escapes and love the older models. The miles were high, but I realized we need it now, and because we bought such a new car recently- we have to take the hit. Ok I'm ok with that. We buy it, and within a week. It shifts weird. If you drive manuals, you know when it's a transmission issue. It feels like I have stalled out, and the car jerks like I'm going to get whiplash. Then we take it to the shop, tell them the tires look rough, and they find the tires are dry rotten, and said they could blow at any minute. The reason we couldn't tell was because they put so much tire shine on it, it didn't seem bad. We knew it was used, but wow. Then the transmission was black. So we spent 1,000 extra bucks on top of that, and I was livid at that point. Now a month later, it's shifting worse now so I have to figure it out. They should have figured this out before putting it on the lot. All they cared about were cosmetics. No care whatsoever. I should feel safer and more loving, but this experience has created stress and I feel deceived. When we received our used Ford Escape 2007 from Steven Toyota, they put new tires, the engine was checked out, and it was clean. And that car was only 6,000. And it is still running and running smoother than my 25,000 Ford Escape 2012 from Malloy ford and still causing me problems. When I called about my disappointment and my problems, they were in no rush to call me back. I spoke in great detail to a sales associate who seemed to place the blame on the sales rep we had, I'm pretty sure he did not place the car on the lot and jack up the prices. Pretty sure that's called management. No one called back I left 2 numbers, and told them to leave a voicemail. -------- Updated: tires were paid back. Transmission was flushed. Waiting to make sure everything is good to go. Would've wished to not go through this but at least they owned up to it and helped us. Not everybody's perfect I get that. Horrible service, and especially Rude service Donielle is very rude and aggressive and she will fabricate any story to extort you for your money. She was caught in several lies and still blamed the customer. And no one accepts responsibility for their lies and bad service. Stay away from this dealership or you will be disappointed. I was bullied into extra finance options like extended service on a new vehicle gap etc. when I clearly stated I didn't want those things. I have taken my vehicle many times to Malloy/Battlefield Ford and been happy with the service. This time I took the vehicle for oil change and inspection. The vehicle failed inspection and it would cost me almost $500 to have rust cleaned from the LF rotor. I was suspicious because the vehicle has not felt any differently driving. Took it to another automotive shop to recheck. Passed this inspection with no problems. Now they won't even talk to me, but left me on hold until I hung up. After purchasing a high end vehicle from Malloy, my experiences have been nothing short of miserable ever since. I will never step foot in their door again. Here are 4 reason for the consumer to stay away: 1.) No spare parts. Their service department told me with great pride the model is to stock parts 1 business day away. That means...if you need a part, guess what, you are coming back and they may need to hold your car (see #2). 2.) No Loaner cars. When my 1 week old, brand new Platimum (highest end) Explorer broke down due to a failed sensor the first week I owned it, I was told I couldn't drive it, Malloy didn't have a loaner and I needed to find my own ride. This was a Saturday mind you and with this great 1-business day parts model, that meant 4 days without a car. 3.) Dirty, dumpy facility. I have owned Chevy's and Honda's - the facilities are nice and make you feel good. This place is a dingy dump with stained seats and carpets, no water for guests, etc. 4.) Disorganized and dishonest service manager (TJ). Lost my paperwork, didn't finish service, insinuated it was my fault for not calling to check status, promised if I brought it back ANY morning he would put me at the front of the line and complete for free. When I returned, he told me they were too busy that day. This was for an Oil Change and Tire Rotation....the last straw for me. read more

No stars. I contacted Malloy after I received a recall notice from Ford about a safety issue. I did not buy my Explorer from a Ford dealership, but the notice stated that any dealership could help me. I called Malloy since they were closest to my residence. They took my name, phone number, and recall number, and said they would order the part and contact me for an appointment when the part come in. I had not heard anything by a month later, so I went on their website to get the phone number again. In the meantime, I received a second recall notice relating to the climate control unit. I noticed a chat box and decided to do that, and chatted with a person who identified themself as "Diana Prince," which at least was amusing. She said they had no record of my first call but would be happy to help. She took my information, the recall numbers, etc., and said that I would be contacted "asap." It's now been another month without any contact. I know they have my info since I got a marketing email. I can only conclude that they just don't want to do this work, or are incompetent. I won't be trying a third time, and certainly won't consider them next time I'm looking for a car. If they can't manage this, they don't deserve my business. They won't let me post this without a star rating, unfortunately. read more

Terrible! I received a recall on my car from Ford. I had my car towed to Malloy after speaking with a service adviser and telling her what was wrong. She told me it had to be brought in to verify the recall and then they could fix it. Once I get it towed there(out of my own pocket), the service adviser/tech goes in to verify the recall. Because of the recall, another part broke because the recall put tension on the cable.While in the EXACT same spot as the recall which was diagnosed. So, because the recall parts are not available, they cant get the parts in until later in the fall. So they cant do anything yet. But I get told that I cant get my vehicle back until I pay a $130 diagnostic fee. Which 1: was never told to me on the phone that either the part that I told her before it came in was broken, nor the fact that if he saw anything else other than what he went in for, that I would be charged a fee. Had nothing else broke, and it was just the recall, I wouldn't be charged this fee. But because something else was also broken(which they are not fixing), I get charged a diagnostic fee! They are cheating us and giving us a hard time because we pushed that they should be required to fix the other part that was broken because of the recall. Oh and I was also told that to fix this part by them, it would be 3.5 hours of labor. I was told by ANOTHER ford dealership that it only calls for .6 hours of labor. BIG difference. It is wrong and Malloy of Charlottesville are crooks! They will never again get my business or the business of my family. Besides their deep pockets, they have terrible customer service and don't care about truly trying to help people. All they care about is getting big money. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. The sales department is the worst. I purchased a F450 on June 8. They didn't bet the papers to the bank until July 11. My temp plates expired on July 7. When I questioned what was going on, the salesman (Will Cahill) cussed me. He dropped "F" bombs and made excuses. The other salesman were no help either. On a good note, the finance (Mike) was very good in helping get resolution and was Debbie in the Title office. I would avoid these guys and shop elsewhere. read more

Being a manager of a business myself I know the importance of customer care and quality service so I am very confused about the approach of this dealership. I witnessed both first hand when my brothers brand new truck broke down on the side of the road. Of course defects are always a possibility in new cars and trucks but the lack of respect for a customer in such circumstances was disappointing to say the least. SEE UPDATE / RESPONSE HALFWAY DOWN If you buy a used car from Malloy, no matter what they say or who says it, expect nothing after the sale. Purchased a car from Malloy Ford in Charlottesville on 7/1/14. That night the car wouldn't start, the used car manager came out with the salesman with a jump box and jumped the car off. I was apprehensive but I thought it was just because it had sat and our test drive wasn't long enough to charge it. They told me that if I had a problem Malloy would take care of it. I pointed out that I lived 2 hours away. They said just take it to my local Ford dealer and call them. On the night of 7/2/14 after pressing and holding the eject button, per the manual to get the CD player to work, the car wouldn't start. On the morning of 7/3/14 I jumped the car and took it to my local dealer and called Malloy. Crickets. Called the salesman's cell phone. He called me back and let me know that he wasn't working but that he would call Malloy and have someone call me. Crickets. I called again and the service department answered. I told him my story and was told he could get to me maybe the following week and nothing he could do right then. He took my name and number and said he would pass it along. Crickets. I then sent an email to both the salesman and the used car manager pointing out the battery and that the CD player doesn't function. Crickets. So Malloy Ford is no different than the shadiest used car dealer you can imagine. I did buy a used car, I did sign the as is form, I did not know that the battery was bad nor did I know that the CD player portion of the Navigation system was not only inoperable but would kill the battery in a matter of minutes. My mistake not checking and my mistake for believing a used car dealer would honor their handshake. I used an OBDII scanner to check the system. Should have used a capacitance tester for the battery, didn't have one with me. I also should have had them demonstrate that the CD performed all the functions (everything else worked, it thinks it's loaded). I try to learn from my mistakes, and hope that those who read this will also learn from my mistake. What was the fix? This car is for my wife, she is a traveling cardiac nurse. The car has to work, not maybe work, has to work. The battery $120, OE navigation system from EBAY $700, learning about Malloy Ford $ priceless. So I must surmise from your comment that this is the venue of choice. The problem has been handled. Over the last 30+ years I have dealt with Skyline Ford (Floyd), Vinton Motors (Ford in Vinton, out of business), Magic City Ford, Berglund Ford (was Farrell Ford), Berglund Chevrolet, Harvest Ford (Now Berglund), Hart Motors (GM / Kia), Shelor (Christiansburg), Friendly Lincoln Mercury (Salem), now Malloy Ford, and several used car dealers. (2) were worthy of praise. Neither are still around (Skyline & Friendly). I once had a battery dropped onto a car while replacing (2 weeks in the body shop, work guaranteed up until the paint fell off, Courtesy of Magic City). Another time I had to argue to get a spare tire for a new F250 (Farrell actually tried "they don't come with spares"), numerous "We're booked for"...fill in time (Battery died within 100 ft of Vinton Motors front door, Skyline had it towed to Magic City). This is why I have 10k in tools and a subscription to AllData. I also have a small garage that I work with. BTW your sales team had me sign the wrong CarFax, I pointed out the mileage problem. I also have a subscription to CarFax, so I printed my own out at home. I have already called and emailed to try to work toward a resolution, crickets. The funny thing is I always assume the best in people and in businesses. The salesman is the only one that has called me back. Since I've already taken care of everything, the only resolution is a reimbursement. Your welcome to call any Advance Auto to verify the cost of the battery (122 + tax). I sat at Berglund Ford for about 30 min. waiting on Malloy and calling Malloy. Then I went to Advance Auto. My nephew let it sit all day and retested it and it had lost about 40% of it's power. It checked "Unstable" on their equipment. As for the CD player error which also locks up the updating of the Nav system. You can get on ebay and search for "07 Lincoln MKZ THX", I personally like the ones with a warranty $1100ish. But when I listed the cost of replacement I wasn't out for blood, so the $700 range was the best choice. But don't worry, you're covered, I accept my mistake. You advertised the premium (THX) sound system. And as I stated before I signed the AS IS statement. I just should have known since you didn't say "Fully Functional" premium sound system. So you're covered. You win, I've moved on. This is just a reference for your future customers. read more

I visited the Mallory Charlottesville dealership on Saturday, July 8th from a recommendation of my sister. She bought a 2017 Ford Escape last August and had a wonderful experience. Well, mine was exactly the opposite. My Salesman, Connor, was knowledge, friendly, most helpful. I drove a 2017 Escape then a 2017 Focus. I had already visited 2 other Ford dealerships in the Lynchburg area and had quotes on both vehicles - apples to apples! Of course, working with numbers and quotes from another dealership, a senior Sales Manager gets involved - well, that's where my experience went to HELL! Let's call this Sales Manager "Mr. Nasty". He came to the desk and explained his position and I explained mine, but then he began raising his voice at me, telling me I did not know what I was talking about. He humiliated me by his domineer and trying to demonstrate his superior attitude. He told me I HAD to get him a paper quote to continue our business. I have NEVER had anyone speak to me in the manner he did. Connor was a witness to "Mr. Nasty's" rude, belligerent, hateful, know-all, superior behavior. When "Mr. Nasty" finished his lecture to me, basically telling me I did not know what I was talking about, he left the cubical. "Mr. Nasty" demanded the quote I had from another dealership in writing. I told Connor I did not appreciate "Mr. Nasty's" attitude, Connor agreed, I thanked Connor for is professionalism and I left the dealership. I had a written quote from both locations, but with "Mr. Nasty's" bullying, I would not produce the document for any amount of money or any vehicle. My family has a LONG history of driving only Ford vehicles. My husband and I have dealt with dealerships in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. And as I stated earlier, I have never been treated as I was by the senior Sales Manager, "Mr. Nasty". I'm not sure if this is a practice of this Charlottesville Ford dealership or just this Sales Manager. I left the dealership in tears because I was so embarrassed and angry. However, I did not tell "Mr. Nasty" about himself, I remained a lady! I know it probably doesn't mean much to this dealership, but I will never recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle and my sister won't either now that she has witnessed how I was treated. Wow. I arrived at the dealership with my husband and my two daughters to test drive a Jeep with cash in hand. They wouldn't allow us test drive without a salesman after 7 o'clock. The employees were very pushy and rude. Seeing as there were only four seats in the car, at least one of us would have had to stay behind while the salesman accompanied us. I would like to mention that I have bought multiple vehicles from this particular dealership and I am a life-long resident of the city. The salesmen implied that I may steal the vehicle despite the fact that I brought my family along. I definitely will not be doing anymore business with this dealership. They are disrespectful, impersonal, and downright slimey salesmen, the sales manager especially. read more

I bought 3 cars when it was Battlefield Ford, now it's Malloy Ford. First, no more free inspection witch is what I took my in for. I thought I would get a fair deal, WRONG !!!!!! I was told I would need to items fixed to pass inspection .....WRONG!!!! And they wanted $48 to replace The windshield wipers such bullshit. So I got pissed and went to auto zone got wipers installed for $30, then off to Merchants. While one item needed to be fixed ( I knew this) it did NOT need to be fixed to pass inspection. I has the wheel bearing fixed for $130 less than Malloy. The other item (power steering hose) was not leaking and did not need to be replaced. Malloy was out to screw a loyal customer. Never again will I go back to these thieving mofo douche bags. This is what I get for buying three car from this dealership. Run, don't walk away from these jerks. read more

Received three automated responses however no one has contacted me to explain why, after two months, the parts to address the safety related recall issue haven't been delivered. I would beware of used car sales team at Malloy Ford. They offered me the "deal of a lifetime" and "only good for today price". That price was over $2,000 above the advertised price online. (They switched prices on 2 vehicles. The hang tags were switched...one a top model, one a base model.) They were trying to sell me the base model at the top model's price. I have gotten several apology phone calls (all saved) saying they had "no idea that their general manager had changed the prices"! And they want to" regain my trust". OH, and this one is good," they hate for me to miss out on this great car!" They thought they were going to make some good money that night. I will never EVER pull on that lot again. And I recommend that anyone that does goes there, beware that they are not honest..and are the epitome of what everyone hates when buying used cars! Happy to report, we bought a car at Car Max. Let me begin by stating that, if possible, this would be a zero star review. I have a 2013 Ford Fusion, Energi model which I took into Malloy on multiple occasions for repair. I probably should have known better since Malloy doesn't seem to have much experience with EV cars, but I didn't want to drive to Richmond if I could help it. On the third trip into the dealership after my car died (still with absolutely no workable theories on their part as to why) they wanted to keep my car but not give me any other car (a rental) to drive while they kept mine. We had to repeatedly request, and then demand, from multiple individuals, until they finally agreed. This, even though the electrical components of my car are under and extended warranty that should ensure my placement in a rental. That trip ended with the technicians concluding that my car battery kept dying because I was leaving the MyFord Mobile app open and it was engaging some elements of the electrical system. This theory, apart from being weak and unconvincing, proved completely untrue as my car died again shortly thereafter without my having used the application. On this fourth trip in I escalated my concern to the national Ford office and was assigned a regional service rep who attempted to contact the dealership, and who instructed them to consult the Ford hotline. By this reps own admission the dealership consistently failed to return his calls, and by his own records they never bothered to actually consult the hotline (even though I was told that they did). They kept my car for a week, all the while apparently doing nothing more than starting it in the morning and then leaving it for the next day. Eventually, the regional rep called me to tell me that he was having difficultly working with the dealership, this call just moments after a call from the dealership (my first contact with them in 3 days) telling me that the car was ready for pickup. At this point I contacted the Richmond dealership, where I bought the car and arranged that they take a look at it. They made immediate arrangements to get the car there and provided me with a car from their lot to drive while they did diagnostic work on mine. Within two days they called me and said, based on their own review of the service records and their diagnostics that it seemed as though the Malloy service group replaced the battery in my car but then failed to complete the necessary recalibrations that are clearly mandated per Ford protocol. Thus, my car continued to die because the technicians failed, not only to actually call the hotline for consultation as requested, but even in the relatively simple task of replacing a battery and then completing the necessary steps to ensure that the new battery will work in the car. In short, a) the technicians there demonstrated gross incompetency in their work b) misled me about the "diagnostic" work they completed c) failed to respond to the regional service rep and to follow his express instructions and d) went days without communicating with me about the status of my car. My experience in conversation with both the district Ford individual and the service and sales folks at Richmond clearly indicated that this is standard operating procedure for Malloy. I will drive to Richmond to get my car repaired from here on and I would suggest that anyone else who values their time and money do the same. read more

Absolutely horrible experience I have bought two cars through you guys my most recent purchase has been a horrible experience I haven't had the car a month and it has been in YOUR shop 3 times since I bought it....When I tried to return it before my 30 days were up I was told I could not and your staff was very rude, I never signed any paperwork saying the car is "as is" nor did I get all of my paperwork from my purchase! Your salesmen are using false advertising .... I understand the "sales" process Since I am a sales person as well...But if you can not stand behind your sale then you are not trustworthy. read more

Proceed with caution!!!! After making a deal, and being led to believe that everything should be completed in no more than an hour, we were told "sorry, we just sold that vehicle". That explains why it took two hours of trying to reach these people, because they were busy selling the vehicle off to a higher bidder, I guess. bought my 2014 ford focus in May 2015. I wanted a nice clean , car. Afte 3rd day i bought it problems appeared. I took it to service : because left front wheel had problem with transmission. Even Sales person confirmed the problem ,but their service said car has no problem. After 10 days problem ocured more and i took it again, they said there is no problem and the car is getting used to driver. which was ridiculous. After i took it 5th time they said my car was recalled by the ford. but car service manager was so rude and he was shouting at me. they were not helpful they tired to rip me off. and they said i have to wait untill september till my car get fixed and they wouldnt give me any vehicle untill then. Or they said they can trade my car and give me new one if i accept to loose $ 3000 . it wasnt even my fault why would i loose money for ? i high dont recommend you to even visit them . terrible terrible service. read more
