It's a little pricey, but the portions are huge. It's got Korean food, Korean-style Chinese, and the tip is included. We always get a fried chicken in sauce (Gotta live up to the American stereotype) and another noodle dish, and fried dumplings. It has little trays of Banchan and the owner serves to you if you're eating there. The fried chicken is super crispy, every dish comes with a bowl of rice, and there is free water and tea. Hits the spot for jajjangmyeon and tangsuyuk! Bf and I were feeling hungry on our errands day. We decided to check the food court before wrapping up our grocery haul for the week at H-Mart. The food court has a number of solid choices. We landed on Malri Hyang as noodles are usually a safe bet. The traditional jajjangmyeon was delicious - savory and earthy. A bit sweet for my taste but the bf said it was good, and he's usually even more against sweet than me. I preferred his - he got the yuk (ground pork) jajjangmyeon which had a richer savory taste than mine. The tangsuyuk was good. The pork was fried crispy with a light batter. The sauce was also on the sweeter side but nonetheless hit the spot for this classic k-drama combo. Had the jajjangmyeon sauce been less sweet, the pairing would have been perfect. Just fell a bit flat for me because both were on the sweeter side. Service was quick and both the ahjusshi and ahjumma were really nice! And portions are hefty! My bf and I were still full a good 8 hrs later. The area is clean, and while it is a food court, water and tea cups are available gratis. King Dumplings Perfectly soft and chewy bao with lovely sweet and savory meat filling. None of this stuff is on our diet but it was all a worthy cheat. Fried Dumplings/ 만리향 군만두 Not quite sure if these were house-made. Kind of a king-size, well-done gyoza. Great flavor, nice crunch to the dough. Spicy Garlic Chicken For all I know this could be a very Americanized stir-fry and I picked the dish that the chefs consider silly, but it sure tasted good. Crunchy veg, lots of mushroom, good flavor, plenty of chicken. I added quite a bit of chili flake to this as well. Well let me just say this place objectively served one of the worst Chinese food I had in my life. Until here, the worst Chinese food I had was in middle of nowhere Michigan back in the 1990s over 30 years ago. To make matters even worse, their entrees are $30. You can order 2-3x entrees at adjacent restaurants in this food court and they're orders of magnitude better. Perhaps why the price is not on the menu anywhere. Have heard of Chinese Korean food but never tried till now. I've had Chinese version of Jajang mian and had the instant noodle version of the Korean (Chappagetti) and neither of them are as any good as Malri Hyang's version. Super duper good. I like onions, but this was ridiculous. During the COVID-19 pandemic, every place is "take out". Malri Hyang is a food-court stall in the G-Mart store. I ordered Mongolian Beef which was $18.00 (I thought that was very expensive, but assumed it would be an above-scale meal. It wasn't! I am a Yelp Elite reviewer and an accomplished chef in many ethnic foods including Asian. It's hard to slip anything past me. In fairness, the thin-sliced beef was supple, cooked correctly and swimming in a Mongolian sauce. The rest of the ingredients amounted to Green Onions and White Onions. Seriously, that's it! Sliced green and white onions together give the effect of multiple mixed vegetables. Using a "ricer" to julienne a couple of stokes of carrot and a couple of strokes of squash...really gives the impression of a wholly balanced dish. That's what the chef did...and that's what I got. Onions are the cheapest vegetable in the market. I've neven eaten that much onion in my life...and I love onion. And I paid $18.00 for a "to-go" order of meat and fried onions. The jajangmyeon was mostly onion, barely any meat, and the black bean taste was also pretty light. I don't recommend this. The jjampong on the other hand was actually ok. It had shrimp, squid, clams, and mussels. It was definitely more balanced than the other side. I mean you get what you pay for, the ingredients you can tell isn't very fresh and there's a lot of msg. I had to keep drinking water while eating this. Afterward, my stomach wasn't liking this. I was in pain for the rest of the day.
