Was in the area visiting a friend and a zoo visit (this place only a mile or so from the Brookfield zoo), doing some shopping, and needed some food for my visit with a friend. Decided to give this Barones a try, I always try to support local establishments. Wow! The pizza and especially the sausage pizza was unexpectedly good. They have a pretty large menu and the service was excellent. I spoke with the owner for a bit, a goofy looking asian guy but somehow I was strangely attracted. X-Thin pizza crust on their takeout menu, which was dropped by my apartment building, got my attention. Villa Nova's in Stickney has my favorite pizza because I love their thin and tasty crust. Ordered a pizza and some wings for delivery. The food arrived very hot and quickly. The pizza was OK - the crust was thin enough, but it just had no flavor. I'm still searching for somewhere that delivers to my area that's on par with Villa Nova and just haven't found it. I'll give the pizza another try though, because otherwise it was good. The wings? Wow, were they great. Very crunchy and pretty large. It will definitely be very difficult to not get wings when ordering from them. And I'll try other stuff on the menu as well. read more

The cashier was incredibly rude, overcharged by $3, and once I questioned the prices she started going off about how I didn't want to support local businesses. Also to note, none of the prices on the chalkboard are correct, despite them being easily modifiable. I wouldn't come here if you're in the area. Go someplace classier and CHEAPER!!! Don't waste your money! Food is horrible & the owner is down right nasty to customers. No customer service skills what so ever, the pizza is blah, you'd be better off throwing a frozen pizza in the oven, the rib tips are all fatty & very greasy & oily. We live in a small town & I've heard several rumors of the younger staff putting things in the pizza such as boogers and other body substances. We were loyal customers for 8+ years, however on my last pick up order, I kindly asked the owner, who answered the phone, to run my credit card while I was parked in front of their establishment to pick up my order, in an effort to avoid leaving my infant child unattended in the car. However as it turns out this would have been to much of an inconvenience to Barones. The owner said, it was an inconvenience to him to do so and that next time I should not bring my child with me to pick up my pizza. Apparently Barone's will not accomodate their loyal customers--especially NOT if you bring kids with you! I will never order from these scumbags ever again. I ordered a pizza at 7:30 at night. I was told 45 minutes to an hour. An hour and 15 minutes later I still hadn't received my pizza so I called and was told he just left. I live five minutes away from this place, so when another 30 minutes went by I knew I wasn't getting my food. I called and asked if I can just cancel and the guy immediately told me no I couldn't and he would make me another one. I informed him I had kids that needed to be fed and I couldn't wait for another pizza so I wanted to just cancel. He proceeded to start swearing at me and tell me it's not my fault that the driver came to my house and tried calling even though he had the wrong phone number. He told me he already charged my card and if I wanted to dispute the charge to call my credit card company and hung up on me. I called back and said all I wanted was my money back since this wasn't my fault and he informed me he didn't give a shit and if I wanted to come pick up the pizza he would have cops waiting for me. I did nothing to be treated this way by these people when all I wanted was my $20 back. I plan I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company and I will never ever do business with them again. This used to be my go to place in Brookfield. For almost 8 years the pizza was great, but it's definitely subpar now. The last 3 times I've ordered the pizza has arrived with raw/undercooked dough in the middle. Even when I ask for it to be a little well done. I keep giving them another try bc it was my favorite in the area, but tonight they lost a customer. The pizza was late and on top of that undercooked and cold when it arrived. How do you take almost an hour and a half and still deliver an undercooked pizza. Then when I call to tell them the young lady on the phone says..."well, what do you want me to do about it?" Really? Not sure I've there's been a change of management but I would stay away from Barones until the fix whatever issues they've had the past few months. read more

We have been a long standing customer of Barones, for over 14 years! November 16, on a Saturday evening I had placed an order for 3 x large pizzas to be delivered on Sunday at 4:15 pm for a birthday/football party. However, on the day of the party, November 17th, there was a terrible storm in the midwest, tornadoes high winds. Most of the people coming to the party had to cancel due to the extreme weather. I had called starting at 11:00 am notifying them that I would like to cancel my pizza order. They hadn't opened up until 3:00 pm, but I thought by calling early, somebody would get the message when they came in. I never got a call back, so i called again after they opened and spoke with the owner/manager. He was so rude to me, when I tried to explain my situation he hung up on me. I called him back and tried to explain again and to tell him that I would still like to place an order, just less pizza's. He told me to go down the street to Paisan's, that he didn't need my business. There was a Bears game that day, so I know that he would have sold those pizza's that i had pre ordered. They weren't cooked yet, just prepared in the frig, one of them was a meat lovers pizza, please....you're gonna tell me that he wouldn't sell that pizza on a Sunday when the Bears were playing. Some of you here in the midwest may recall that day, the Bears game was postponed due to the extreme bad weather! I will say that I have always enjoyed Barones Pizza, but I will never, I mean NEVER give them my business again after the way I was treated. I even called back a third time and he just hung up on me! I have ordered from here more than a few times and every time I order I try to remind myself not to order from there again. Yesterday was the last time I am ever placing an order with them. The lady who takes the orders on the phone always sounds so nice but in reality she is always so ignorant in her sweet little voice. She always rushes when I am on the phone with my order like she is always busy and can't be bothered. I always have to ask for a total, always! I have asked her numerous times while I am on the phone ordering to directly punch my credit card information right into the actual machine because the first time I noticed on my receipt all of my information is on there...credit card number across the top, expiration date in a different section and even the cvc code written in another spot....I have asked her every time to just punch it in because who knows if other workers, cooks or even delivery guys catch on to that and bam they have all my info to do some online shopping. It's not right or professional for her to complain and not do as I ask when I call in with my information....check your receipt next time!! my order was very simple some chicken tenders and a baby 10" pizza and it took them an hour and 20 mins to deliver it! When I called at an hour to ask where it was because I was told 45 she then told me it will be here in 2 mins and then came 20 mins later....NEVER ordering from them again!!! Not only have had those issues but their food really is not that great and there a few other places in Brookfield that are A LOT better tasting!!
