Great Tex-Mex spot near the Lakeline mall in Cedar Park. There is a bar area, indoor dining and an outdoor patio. Lots of seating. The crew is almost always friendly and attentive (there's been a few that were not the best, but all good). The bar is always hoppin (yes, there is a HH) and they have a great margarita flight - so good and not weak at all! Anytime I need a real good Tex-Mex fix, this is my spot! The decor event invokes an instant Tex-Mex vibe. The menu is vast, so there is something for everyone! Meat, no meat - spice, no spice, Tex-Mex or American. Oh y'all, I love the chips and salsa!!!! Still complimentary! Anywho, give them a try - you won't be dissappointed.

We decided to try this place again, we had a much better time, our server was fast, friendly, and checked in with us. They were not gone for long periods of time, nor did they follow up every 2 minuties. The food was pretty good, the drinks were well made and the decor was fun. The place was pretty full but we never felt like we waited on anything for too long. Glad we gave it another shot, my fajitas were good, as is the case with most single orders anywhere I wish it had 2 to 3 more chicken pieces but still it worked well. The queso was solid, not the best but still pretty good. We will be back I think but not sure when.

Texican Café Lakeline is located off Pecan Park Blvd and Research Blvd. The restaurant offers a "El Paso Style Mexican Food" ...not sure what means as the food was traditional Mexican to me. However, the name implies that it is Mexican with some type of Texan twist. OMG Texican Café is an enigma. Normally, when I go to a Mexican restaurant there usually a few tried and true interior themes: Traditional - Colorful Saltillo tiles, Papel picado, mariachi, cultural murals. Fiesta/Cantina - Bold colors, tequila & margarita focus. Rustic Hacienda - Warm earth tones, wood, wrought iron. Modern - Sleek, minimalist, artistic, trendy vibe. Street-Style Taqueria - Casual, graffiti/chalkboard menus. Cultural - Day of the Dead, regional Mexican crafts. Texican was none of these. I felt like I had walked into a sci-fi movie with colorful abstract fixtures, bold in your face colors, 3-D dimensions of wall art...it was an artistic haven. With this somewhat jolting and simultaneously welcoming interior, I absolutely did not know what to expect. While I was at business lunch, my sensory glands were on alert and working overtime. We ordered enchiladas, and hard-shell taco plates (chicken and beef), which came with refried beans (not my favorite in general...prefer charro beans) and Spanish rice. The food taste was traditional in nature and not greasy at all. The meal came with chips and salsa. Surprisingly, the chips were the standout with a Frito and tortilla chip combined texture...these fresh and crunchy chips were quite addicting. Our chip bowls emptied fast. The salsa also had a kick to it. Our servers were extremely attentive first bringing our drink orders - tea and water in large 32-ounce glasses and replacing those glasses a second time before the end of the meal. I met my daily water intake requirement at lunch...for sure! Texican has indoor seating and outdoor seating with a covered patio, where you can smoke outside. I had not seen a sign on the door promoting smoking in quite in some time. Also, there is ample parking as the restaurant as it is in a strip mall area.'' This solid Tex-Mex eatery would satisfy a Mexican food craving.

Came here for the first time! Finding a good Mexican restaurant is always a mission for me and I can say that I found a good one in this area!! They had good vegetarian options and the staffs are friendly and ready to support! I asked all vegetarian options and got some veggie furita and spinach enchiladas! Twas enough for two of us! Enjoyed the crispy tortillas chips as well! Will be back! Cheers

I came to this space on my lunch break. The lady at the front a Hispanic lady gave attitude told me it would be 5 minutes I sit here and wait as I sit . I see that other people are walking up and getting sat. After I noticed I walked up and spoke to the manager to advise that hey I have been sitting here waiting to get a table as and other are being seated. I just wanted to walk out but let him be aware he advised that I do apologize but please allow me to make it up . I stated I don't even feel comfortable because I know now that I have complained I won't be give the best service. He sat me down and took my order . But darn mam why are we still being profiled when I'm still spending my money I didn't come in here with attitude. I was actually in great mood. Bobby did come over and apologize again. And discounted my order . Thanks again Bobby for being Polite and correcting the issue at hand originally I was going ok a 1 star but due to Bobby correcting immediately 5 stars it is

Your Yelper Girl checking in! The Texican consistently has yummy food and great service. We were a bit disappointed last night when we decided to sit on the patio since it was a beautiful evening and soon smelled cigarette smoke. Two ladies had lit up and the smell of course wafted through the patio. We were surprised smoking is still even allowed in restaurants. Was not the best experience due to this. All patrons should be able to enjoy the outside patio without being exposed to second hand smoke! People with respiratory problems or sensitivity to smells should be able to eat in a smoke free environment.

"I don't know the secret to happiness, but I've never been sad at a Mexican restaraunt." This quote sums up the good vibes and awesome food at the Texican. Eating here was the perfect end to a day of shopping at the nearby mall. The waitress was super friendly and a delightful person in general. The tortilla chips were hot & fresh and the salsa was nice and spicy. I ordered the Gollo Pollo, which is a large chicken breast smothered in cheese and sautéed veggies (onions, peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes). Very good and I had enough to take home for a midnight snack. The charro beans were some of the best I've ever had- with a generous amount of pork. The atmosphere was nice and lively too.

Homemade delicious chips! Nice and salt and hot and crispy! Salsa is very fresh. Sour cream chicken enchiladas are the BEST. Very tasty and well seasoned chicken and a good amount of creaminess! The rice is nice and seasoned well with chili powder. Best I've ever had.

First visit. Restaurant was empty. Service was excellent. Restaurant is so dark even in the afternoon. Needed phone flashlight to read the menu. Food was just ok. Combo with beef taco, tamale and enchilada and seasoned rice and refried beans. Sauces tasted canned not fresh but pico was fresh tomato and onion. Dollop of guacamole was flavorless. Needs some lime juice. Green chili enchiladas was the other entree with chicken filling. Chicken was flavorful and moist. Sauce was ok. Just ok.

I went to this restaurant for the first time today. It is near the Lakeline mall. We went for lunch. Upon entering the restaurant, it is extremely authentic, Mexican, including the music and bright colors. I could smell the fresh chips as I stood in the lobby. I was greeted promptly and brought to a booth. I was then greeted promptly by a server and served freshly made chips and salsa, which was quite tasty. The menu is extensive. They seem to have just about everything one could want. This restaurant is Mexican not Tex-Mex. It is really really good. I got crunchy tacos with rice and beans. My husband got beef fajitas. Both of us were extremely pleased with our meal. They have a special lunch menu from 1 to 4 during the week and a brunch menu on the weekend. Their prices are quite reasonable even without special menus. The price of my dish was $12.95. I will definitely be back the next time I visit the Lakeline Mall! I highly recommend you visit this restaurant if you want real Mexican food.

Thank you to our Hostess Esmeralda for being so accommodating. We had a party of 12 at 3P on a Saturday with no reservation, and no problem. I waited at the bar while they prepared our table. Ordered a Mexican Martini and he poured it out of a premade container. Not my favorite way to enjoy a cocktail. I had to get up and get my own cocktail napkin. Bartender needs a little pep in his step. He did bring my chips and salsa (chips were still warm). Plenty of parking, easy to find. It's has an authentic vibe. Colorful... our waiter dropped the ball a couple of times, no biggy, he was pleasant enough.

I have loved the Texican for over 27 years! And their queso à la paria is one of my "must haves" when I am in Austin or nearby towns. Surface is always friendly and quick (as long as they are not super busy). The outdoor seating is covered and very pleasant as long as it is not freezing cold in the winter or over 100 in the summer. Their margaritas are also incredibly good. The Friday special is the La Morada, which is her delicious house margarita with a swirl of purple almond liquor - absolutely delicious!

We came on a friday night around 6:45 pm and ordered their garlic parmesan fries, a margarita, and 3 lbs of happy style sauce crawfish mild that came with 1 potato and 1 corn. Total came out to be $65 with tip. There were no tables available, as the restaurant is quite small, so we were offered to sit at the bar. -The parmesan garlic fries came with the garlic on the side in a little container containing mostly oil and garlic crunches on the bottom. The flavor was good, but it was too oily. I wish they poured the garlic onto the fries vs having us dip it in the oil. Not sure how much these were, as the price wasn't on the menu I took snapshots of. -The margarita was on the smaller side, but my husband enjoyed it. $8 -3lbs crawfish was ehhh. It was definitely frozen so it was harder to peel and honestly, nothing special, which was disappointing. It was also kinda mushy?? which is definitely a first.. The only thing I liked was the happy style sauce. We ordered mild, but can definitely go hotter since the mild wasn't spicy at all. Portions were kinda small, tbh and so we left unsatisfied. The crawfish came out to be $41 with tax, which was kinda expensive.. esp being frozen. Thoughts: -very tiny restaurant with only 8 tables, including 1 large table for 6-7 people -you can't order 1 or 2 lbs of crawfish, the minimum is 3 lbs which I feel is a bit odd.. -kinda expensive with the 3lbs crawfish esp it being frozen cuz you can get fresh crawfish for less than what they're charging at other places Honestly, pretty disappointed with what we ordered. Guess we'll have to keep looking for other seafood boils. I saw that they had crawfish etouffee, which I am looking forward to trying next time I come. Also, come earlier if you want to get a table. **It's kinda a weird setup. Although there are tables, you actually order first at the front and then you sit. There are no table service just fyi!
