The space was open and not too cluttered, which I always appreciate since I can get kind of overwhelmed in vintage/antique shops. Each area was nicely curated and it was easy to tell where each "booth" started and ended. I saw a variety of housewares, clothing, decor, etc. and had fun looking around finding some treasures. The staff are super helpful and happy. They definitely dress in style as well. They were all very sweet and talkative. They were giving us information on different crystals and other items. My sister was asking about the vegan soaps, and they smelled really good. They had some other items as well such as clothing and jewelry. The candles smelled amazing as well. I really love the design of this place. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into it. I did find some super awesome pieces that I have not seen at other shops, which was awesome. They are all very knowledgeable about the healing crystals and stones and the energy is always flowing during the visit. I think it's working because I always leave in a good mood with a "new" vintage treasure for myself. Also, they have a feather bar! Yes, feathers! You can pick your favorite feathers and put them in a vase for decor. Such a cool idea and the feathers are ethically sourced! We've driven by it a few dozen times and it never caught our eye. The first thing I noticed were the jewelry counters! Jacob immediately knew we were in trouble, because I LOVE shiny things. They had a huge selection of vintage brooches, pins and other fine baubles. The floor space isn't very large but it's well-curated. There isn't "junk" here like so many antique shops tend to keep. Retro Image owns all of its items outright, which means more room for haggling! The prices seemed a little high, but again, we were able to negotiate a bit when it came time to check out AND the items were nice. In addition to all sorts of jewelry, they had an entire rack of vintage clothing in great shape, tons of leaded, bevel-edged glass panels, artwork, a basement bar set (!!), wooden furniture and branded memorabilia. The clerk, Chris, was incredibly kind and patient while showing me all different brooches behind the glass. He said their stock rotates constantly, so I'm looking forward to many more visits to Retro Image.

Yesterday, Friday November 8, 2024 I sang songs written by author/musician Heather Buchanan and Tracy Kash for Heather's newest novel titled, VICTORS. It is about Black musicians who went to France to help fight in World War I. Ultimately, they were largely responsible for our victory and when they weren't fighting they were playing music, sharing the new jazz sound which influenced not only Europe but the world. My dress, purse, fan, long strand of pearls and headpiece, all purchased from the Peacock Room in the Park Shelton were a smash hit!
