My husband ordered the shrimp pho w spicy broth and I had the tender beef vermicelli bowl. The pho broth had so much flavor and wasn't overwhelmingly hot/spicy. My vermicelli was hands down the best vermicelli I've ever had. It wasn't dry, the flavor and tenderness of the beef was unbelievably delicious. Wow, if you ever drove by this place and looked inside and out while passing you would definitely judge that this is a hole in the wall establishment. Well you are partially correct in a sense that it is not a new building but however one that has been redone inside to almost match up with the current times and even surpassing the surrounding neighborhood structures. Typical Asian service protocol in the sense that if you walk into an authentic Asian establishment you either get good service and bad if not mediocre food or you get good food but non existent service. Well you get the good food and non existent service here. Parking is pretty tight depending on when you get here. Come here at the wrong time and you might be looking for a parking lot across the street from this stand alone restaurant. The rice with the pork chop had an excellent flavor, It is the "Rice with pork chop, egg cake and the Pho's soup had a good deep flavor. I'll take the taste of the food over service here any day anyways. The egg rolls were nothing to brag about and a little on the "free Kermit"situation. I can't believe there's such a gem hidden in Nederland TX!! My colleague and I came in town for business, and when lunch time approaches, we decided to grab something to eat. So of course, I'll open my Yelp and see what's good around, and Pho Ha showed up as one of the top rated places. Both my colleague and I got the P11, I think? The traditional pho with all the meats. The broth was probably one of the best I've had so far all over the country. They also give you plenty of meat. The only downside is that service is a lil slow. The customer service at Pho Ha is excellent! I felt very welcomed from the moment I walked in. Food service was pretty quick as well too! I ordered the #32 Com Bo Luc Lac ( Rice with beef cubes and sauteed onions). The meal came with a side salad. The waitress was very helpful and explained the process of mixing the sauce and salad. Had a quick lunch break and was really craving pho. I ordered the pho tai, the broth had a lot of dimension, was a little bummed that I didn't receive any basil with my veggie plate. Recently moved to the area and had to try out a local Pho place. Pho Ha is located pretty convenient near the interstate and main road close to my work place. Walked in and it is self seated with the menu already at the table. Off the bat I ordered the Pho Dac Biet XL with a simple water. It came with fresh bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños, and lime. I also requested for chili oil on the side. Service is very quick and friendly, the portion was very filling (but not heavy) and fresh! So good! We're picky with our pho, and this place is def a good spot! The parking is scarce and off a busy road, so keep your safety in mind. It has a large enough driveway to help! Inside has a "hole in the wall" comfortable feel to it. Those are usually indicators of a good meal and this spot lived up to that expectation! The boiled shrimp spring rolls are amazing! The peanut sauce the spring rolls come with could have had more "peanut" to it and less of a watery consistency. The sauce is tasty -- just not your typical "peanut sauce." Now, the pho is amazing! I got mine with chicken. There was a bit of fat and bone pieces we had to pick out, but nothing too bad. (I wish there was a white meat chicken option!) The portion size and price on these items are great! Please keep this up!!! The biggest avoidable note I want to mention are in regards to the pho's toppings. Part of the toppings for the pho were directly thrown into a general plastic bag -- not an individual box or sandwich bag (see pic), which is not the most sanitary decision so it would be smart to correct this.
