It's about time I wrote a review for this place, as we've been here so many times over the past 12 years or so, and it really is one of our family's top favorite restaurants! The main reason we keep coming back? The consistently fantastic service! Every single time, we are greeted warmly, with cheerful smiling faces and genuine friendliness, not just politeness. They're not just reciting a script, they seem genuinely pleased to see you and interested in you, and they pay attention to every detail, and time everything just perfectly. We've gotten to know Kaitlyn now - she always recognizes and greets us warmly, and is so enthusiastic and fun. Even though she wasn't our server last night, she waved at us and said "hi" as she went by! :) Last night, we had Luca (Luka?) - not sure of the spelling. Such a wonderful friendly young man. We asked him for recommendations from the menu, and he really knew all the dishes well, and could describe to us in detail exactly what to expect. (At some restaurants, the wait staff don't seem to know their own menus that well!) Just like all the other servers, he was very attentive and friendly. At the end of the meal, when I ordered a latte, he apologized that their espresso machine wasn't working, and offered a regular coffee instead. But then, he went above and beyond and came back with something that he had hand made himself! (As he used to be a barista). It was the most delicious latte I think I've ever had! Such a nice gesture! The other main reason we keep coming back? The consistently excellent food! There's something for everyone it seems - even picky eaters. We feel confident bringing any friend or family member here, as we know we won't be disappointed. Last night was another fantastic evening here. My daughter and I both had one of the "Entree Specials" - the Blackened Salmon, served over a bed of fettuccine pasta with an amazing cheese sauce. (I don't remember the exact description from the menu, but it was absolutely delicious!) The salmon was juicy and tender, the blackened seasoning was so tasty, and it went so well with the cheesy, garlicky pasta sauce, and the pasta itself was very fresh and had a perfect texture. My daughter and I were "mmmm-ing" and "ahhhh-ing" the whole time! My son had the Scampi Mary, from the seafood section, and was very happy with it. My husband had the Veal Parmigiana and was very pleased with his choice. (I had a taste of his, and it was delicious too!) Two of our friends (more picky eaters!) simply had pepperoni pizzas, but they were very happy with them too. The soup of the day was tomato-basil - one of my favorite soups, and it was every bit as tasty as I'd hoped! At the end, we had 3 desserts, the carrot cake, the chocolate tartufo and the lemon sorbet - all very different but all very yummy. Also, we were glad we happened to be there on a Monday this time, so we took advantage of their "half price wine" Monday deal! We ordered a bottle of one of the most expensive red wines on the list (that we wouldn't normally get) - the Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon - and it really was delicious! We also always enjoy the fresh crusty bread and bruschetta sauce, olive oil, etc, that they serve at the beginning too. And the jugs of water are regularly refilled. We've been here for many birthdays, anniversaries & other special occasions, and we often bring out-of-town guests here, when they're staying with us. The combination of the great service, delicious food and warm atmosphere has always been so lovely and satisfying. We sometimes say, "oh let's try somewhere else for a change" but then often end up coming back here, knowing we can rely on this place to be just what we want! :) read more

WHAT HAPPENED HERE??? Seems there has been a change in cooks, because it's not good anymore. My family has been coming here for over 30 years. We were a party of 5 on a Friday night. Except for a few tables outside of the bar area, the place was empty! On a Friday!? We ordered a linguini dish that had a puddle of water on it! One of burgers was overcooked and dried out... The calamari was soggy and smelled extremely fishy! I don't even remember what the other dishes were. We were just disappointed. And what is with the waitress running back and forth to a banquet and then to our table?? Over $200 for food we couldn't eat.... Get your shit together! read more

I am writing this email to let you know how unsatisfied we were with the outcome of it. Some of the things I had asked my aunt to communicate with you when she came, were not met. I requested open bar, and not to have those dividers set up. My family was grieving the loss of our 24 year old daughter and wanted to come together for a celebration. When my aunt got there, the woman who was left in charge was terribly mean and talked over her as if she was incorrect. The service was not adequate. People had to serve themselves. Some tables didn't even get enough food, and no gravy was served. My family had to leave the room to go to another bar where there was 3 people were working. Had dinner tonight and ordered the African Lobster tail with filet medallions. Includes salad or soup veggies and choice of potatoes. Lobster was sweet firm cooked to perfection. Price was on point. Our server was Kaitlyn and she was very efficient and a gem. Totally enjoyed our early Valentines dinner. Kaitlin was very engaging. Grilled calamari on a bed of crisp spinach was excellent. Fresh crisp bread with dipping garnish was yummy. Tomato basil soup was served piping hot. We split the tallest lasagna portion made with all ricotta I've ever seen! Split the spumoni! We'll be back. read more

Horrible venue with tons of inconsistencies amongst the staff. We booked the venue for appx 115 people. There is a partition that blocks off one area from the other (in the middle of the dance floor). Because of the size of our party, the manager Irma informed us that the partition would be open to include both areas. This was important as we would've never booked if we were only limited to one of the areas. I've visited and called multiple times weeks, days, prior to the event to measure walls for decorating purposes etc. The day of, an elderly lady informed me that the partition would not be opened and we are only in the larger area. I expressed my disappointment and told them that this had already been approved by Irma to have both areas include. Once that was settled, it seemed they no longer wanted to work with us. 1. They would not move serving trays because the servers needed the trays when serving, (not once were these items used by the staff throughout the party). I was planning to put the backdrop along that wall. I was able to pivot and put elsewhere. 2. I asked them to put 2 tables along the east wall. They said they couldn't because the band was set up along the wall and the servers needed space to serve. Understood, however this same lady was trying to cram 115 individuals (11 round tables) in this same area. The band winded up moving to the dance floor and MY party winded up moving the tables we needed. No help from the staff. 3. The food was horrible! Multiple invitees; including myself, winded up getting sick from the food. Additionally, when my husband asked the server for water refill, she responded and said "yes but first I'm going to finish cleaning". What in the world?! Y did she feel the need to express that? 4. In our package, we had open bar with top shelf liquor. That was absolutely not top shelf! Very much a well-liquor. 5. They did extend our time and gave us an extra hour for free (thank u Dominic). However, my guests heard the staff complaining about that extra hour given to us, and they stated they would clean up at 11:30 regardless. They weee not being discreet in there conversation. And yep; they began cleaning at 11:30. 6. Total for 115, and "top shelf liquor" was $6300. Absolutely not worth it! read more

First of all the service was amazing! I believe her name was Katelyn. The bread is so good, oil and cheese and bruschetta sooo good . Stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer got mixed reviews I was not a fan. Stuffed shells outstanding! Pork chop and veggies delicious and huge. Popped in here after flying in from Ohio. Our friend and bus dad used to work here when he was younger. He wanted us to try it. We got a great private room with a big round table for our whole group. We sat down to some amazing bruschetta sauce and really yummy crunchy bread. Then I got a delicious peach sangria. Actually got two of them haha. For dinner I ordered this interesting item called Mamas Sunday Gravy. Omg it was amazing. The pasta was HUGE. Highest paste I've ever seen. And it was homemade and you could tell. I only ate half cuz it was SO filling. But I ate the rest the next day as a snack. My husband got the lasagna and said it was really good as well. Huge portions!! read more

This is my parents go to spot and every time we visit we make a stop with them! Their bruschetta is to die for, so garlicky and delicious! Also, you should start with the mamas sangria as well, refreshing with a punch :) My parents always get the lasagna, which we did too on our most recent visit. It did not disappoint, the meat sauce is delicious but the marinara sauce makes the dish very fresh tasting, can't go wrong with either. The Bolognese was the other dish we ordered. It was very tasty, the meat was tender and plentiful and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The staff here is so kind as well, make a stop and you won't regret it! read more

Sunday Dinner? Not We ordered Lasagna, Penne with Meat sauce and spaghetti with meat sauce to enjoy at home on Aug 13, 2023. We got it home and at the soups and salads first. Side salad was just that, nothing spectacular but not horrible. Minestrone - this was on point and delicious. (The main reason I gave two stars instead of one) Cream of Chicken - bland, ironically plenty of chicken but no chicken flavor. Both the Penne and spaghetti with meat sauce were flavorless. Like someone cooked ground beef then threw a can of tomato purée on it. The meatballs were the same, season-less. I put garlic powder and Italian seasoning on it at home just to eat it. My wife had been craving Lasagna and got that. Again, lacking any flavor at all. Had this been the first time I'd been the Mama Luigi's, I'd never go back. I Midon't know if the chef was off this particular Sunday or someone forgot to add garlic, onion and seasoning to sauce but it was no where worth the $80 it cost us. We may give them a chance again but it will be a very, very long time. What a waste of money this dinner was. read more

Came here on the suggestion of a coworker whose opinion I really should know better than to trust. Anyway.... Bland, watery, expensive food! Think Stouffers or Banquet at Oak Brook prices. Depressing atmosphere. Seemed like everyone except us just came from a funeral. Entrees come with soup or salad, and me and my mom both had the salad... huge and tasty.
