Stayed here 4 days & 3 nights and dining here on 3 different occasions. Food is not bad, just hotel food in quality but decent. I had breakfast here once, and dinner twice. It's the understaffed hotel bar and restaurant with mediocre service. It is kind of a free for all for seating with little or no guidance. My recommendation is grab a seat and hope you get waited on my a bartender or the possible the one other server. 3 stars for dinner food 3 for breakfast food (4 for service) 1 for dinner service In summary, Restaurant food is s just ok with poor service and the bartenders and waitress ( aside from the breakfast server) could use an attitude refresher on service and welcome guests. Came here Saturday for lunch after a morning of sleeping in bed. We were able to sit anywhere, so that's what we did. The seating area was really nice, clean, and modern. We were given menus and it didn't take us long to look over the short food list. BUT It take a very long time for a burger, wings, and fries to come out. I'd say at LEAST 30 minutes went by before our food arrived. Not sure why it took so long. Nobody was even there but us. And the food was basic, nothing to brag about. read more

Let me start off saying that the only reason I rated this two stars is because our server Rob was amazing and attentive. This location is located in the hotel, in case there any confusion locating the restaurant. Parking was fair, it's a large lot so I'm sure parking won't be that bad. The ambiance and environment was amazing. Large windows, plants, and couches. They also have a lot machines and televisions near the bar area. The menu was great for meat eaters! I'm pescatarian, and there were options but not tasty at all. We actually sent our Buffalo shrimp back, which was not a hassle and Rob was really understanding of while also asking if we wanted anything else. We also tried the pizza which was so much better. We ordered a bottle of rose wine, the downside of this was that it was more of a champagne, which caught me off guard. Our wine or champagne was served in random glasses. The first one was dirty or had nasty water stains. Unfortunately, I probably would not returning as the menu is pretty small and the food wasn't that great. If you want to pop in and catch up on work, watch a game, slots, or hang at the bar, I recommend it for that. read more

I was looking for a lunch place in Oak Lawn and came across here. I didn't realize it was in the Hilton. My friend and I were literally the only people in there for lunch. Service was super slow. I think the server was also the cook I swear. We ordered club sandwiches and they were huge. We probably could have split them. Pepsi was a little flat. Plus, the manager got an attitude with me because I called out his poor business service & practices. Been here a handful of times and can honestly say, I HAVE NEVER been disappointed! The food is absolutely wonderful, the portions are good for the price but the wine list is beyond great! They have remodeled and it seems that they took this place to another level; I absolutely think that they are on the right track since the remodel. They have this one shrimp (GIGANTIC) in a kind of molasses that is beyond any shrimp I have ever had. The staff there really knows how to serve as well as be courteous and I am really impressed that they know the wine list the way they do. That is a big plus in my book. Went here with my coworkers for brunch and the service was just horrible. We got there and had to ask someone who worked there if we just go up to the buffet to help ourselves or what. The waitress said yes and said someone should be coming to our table. We had been sitting there for 45 minutes and still no one came to our table. We had to flag someone down and ask who our server was. Finally someone came to our table 50 minutes after we arrived. When we finished we got the bill and no one came back to take our payment, I had to go to the front desk to see if I could pay the bill. Horrible service and would not recommend. read more

Do not ever eat from this joke of an establishment. Their whole menu is on DoorDash but when we ordered through DoorDash to pick up food we walked in & they said they do not use DoorDash. Even showed them receipt & they didn't care. Doordash gave us our money back but as someone who works in 2 different restaurants, this place should know that customers have the ability to order food from their establishment & get that figured out. The Eggs Benedict is served traditionally with out any surprises. They serve the dish with hash browns, and asparagus. The buffet is actually quite extensive and you can also have eggs, omelets made to order. Now the sausage is what I expect for Chicago very tasty. The buffet is price reasonably and one trip your on overload Servers are friendly and helpful and it's worth the stop. Especially if your staying in the hotel. read more

I admit this review is based on one visit alone, and that visit was the Christmas Day brunch/buffet. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and thank you for even offering this on Christmas Day. It's not so easy to find anyone who is open that day. I really enjoyed the prime rib, the mashed potatoes, the shrimp (would have been better peeled already though) and the mushroom soup was fantastic as well as the salads and the chocolate fountain. I often go to the breakfast buffet, your best bet is to go on Sundays. Sundays are the only day in the week where they omelets and waffles any other day they do not and costs the same. Also noticed that they don't always have smoke salmon which is one of the main reasons of why I like to go here for breakfast. Service is not that great, it will take forever for you to get a refill. Some of the usually items are eggs, bacon sausage, breads, cold and hot cereals, fruit, yogurt and pastries. 2 visits while staying at the hotel Lunch- our server took 15 min to come to the table despite only having 2 other tables in the restaurant. Sandwiches were delicious but then after asking for our check twice saw our server just hanging out and chatting. Eventually had to approach the kitchen to get it. Dinner- again extremely slow service. Dinner took nearly an hour to arrive. Our 5 yr old was in tears and had only ordered a side salad, so no idea why they didn't just bring that out. When dinner finally arrived the food was wrong and we had to send it back. When the pasta came back the noodles were so overcooked the just turned to mush and the sauce tasted like tomato paste from a can. If not for the polar vortex I'd recommend eating anywhere but here, but if you do go pack snacks and bring a good book because you definitely aren't getting food for hours. read more

Recommended by the front desk as being exceptional food, it ended up being exceptionally bad. Starting with the service: the bartender/waiter never came by to check on me. If I'd try to get her attention she put her head down or went in the other direction. The food was overpriced and sub-par. I ordered a steak medium rare that came out with almost no pink on half of it and then rare on the other half. How is that possible? That takes skill. The asparagus was shriveled and cold and the baked potato was yellowed inside and tasted like it had been cooked for the lunch service and reheated in the microwave (I used to work in food service and I know that look/taste). They thankfully comped the meal (I only ate 1/4 of the steak, 2 pieces of asparagus, and one bite of potato). I am in Chicago once a quarter and will not be back at this hotel or restaurant (the hotel is another story...what a dump)! read more

I suggested this place for brunch with a group of friends. Bottomless mimosas... that alone had me interested. I called and was told I needed to make reservations. Upon arrival, there were many empty tables yet, even with a reservation, we were told we had to wait. We arrived well into brunch service yet we stood for at least 5 minutes. There were several tables needing to be bussed. Once sat, we were asked our drink order. We all wanted the bottomless mimosa. On more than one occasion, we asked the waitress to keep them coming but we always waited with an empty glass. I can understand if they were busy, but the place was half empty so no reason a group should have to wait. We also had to ask for our plates to be cleared which was wrong. Again, they weren't busy so no reason this detail should've gone unnoticed. The food was good and the place was clean. The service without a doubt could've been better, though. This is a cafe in the Hilton at oak lawn hotel. It was convenient for us to go here for breakfast but it was definitely overpriced that we ended up just going to Denny's the next few days, which was just down the street. We ordered the three egg omelette with ham, mozzarella and tomato ($12.50)... the portion and taste was good. It also came with potatoes and ordered the fresh fruit bowl, which the waitress let me pick my own fruit at the buffet breakfast. We also ordered the steak and eggs meal ($16). A little over cooked, dry and needed seasoning. Aside from convenience, we would not come back or eat here again. Everytime I come into Chicago and need a hotel in close proximity to the Beverly area of the South Side, I usually stay at the Hilton hotel on 95th and Cicero. Now, inside that hotel is this little gem of a restaurant and bar. The bar is nice and quiet usually and the restaurant offers great breakfast in the morning and even awesome room service. Ive been eating here for at least 15 years and will continue to do so whenever I visit this hotel! read more

While I am a local I appreciate the great feeling this bar and restaruant have. I am a huge fan of the fish tacos, crab cakes and the brussel sprouts are amazingly delish. They have an excellent selection of bottles of wine but a little lite on the by the glass options. Staff is always friendly, great service and reasonably priced. With a location set inside the Hilton, a grand show kitchen and extra effort in the presentation of the food, I can see how this is one of the "fancier" establishments in Oak Lawn. (Although there was some sort of issue with the A/C the day we visited because it was not as cool as it should have been in the dining room, and the server admitted to it being hot.) For appetizers, we had the shrimp cocktail and crab cakes. Sauce for the cocktail was freshly made and the shrimp were huge. Crab cakes were tender and flaky in texture, but very small and had a bland chipotle mayo on top. The garden salad actually had a gorgeous yet purposeful presentation with the red onion, tomato, cucumber and carrots chopped finely on top of a bed of fresh mixed greens and micro-greens. The cucumber was thinly sliced and wrapped around the whole salad. On the other hand, my friend's Caesar was a bit cumbersome as one whole chunk of romaine leaf sitting on the plate, rather than already sliced and tossed into edible pieces. For entrees, everyone in our group ordered some form of steak - Chicago strip, rib eye, filet Mignon. The servers were helpful and took the time to inform us on how to order each type so that they would taste the best. My Chicago strip was juicy and the herb butter on top made it even better. Although, I felt bad that my friend's rib eye came out a bit tough. (FYI-The chef redid it, and it turned out perfect the second time around.) I liked the use of broccolini over the traditional broccoli, and I appreciated the range of potato options (including sweet potato!). However, the parmigiano-reggiano tomato was a little greasy and a bit unnecessary on the plate. In the end, we shared one extremely decadent chocolate dessert of my husband's choice, the flourless chocolate cake. This is definitely a dessert to split for how incredibly rich it is. The texture was more of a cheesecake in the end - highly addictive. read more
