Must have caught them on a bad day. My roast beef never received rabe and the fry's were horrible, they must have been all the tiny ones left at the bottom of the fry bag

Hidden gem in Washington Township!!! I honestly think it's the best hot sandwich spot in the area. We've tried lots of items there. They have fresh cut fries, my son loves their cheeseburger. My faves are the Leo and chicken cutlet hoagie! The staff is wonderful and friendly. I recommend ordering online ahead of time.

Recently moved back to NJ from TX and we're getting caught up on the new sandwich shops that have opened up near us. This place being one of the top on our list and it was AMAZING! The inside had bar-top seating where you could watch the cooks as well as a simple indoor dining experience with clean plating, nostalgic signs, paintings, and posters. My significant other ordered the cheesesteak and I ordered the House Beef Roast Sandwich and it was AMAZING. This was my first time trying a roast beef sandwich and the flavorful aioli they added to the sandwich helped lighten up the flavor while not taking away from the yummy staples of roast beef and aus jus. Will definitely be adding this place to our weekly rotation and am excited to try their buffalo chicken Caesar salad sandwich next!

I knew as soon as I walker into Johnny Di's that I made a good decision. Reminded me of an old school philly mom and pop type of joint - and I mean that in a very good way. A bunch of people eating around the counters, smelled great inside with the chefs working, and there was legit an Italian looking guy in an Adidas track suit. I knew at that moment these sandwiches were gonna be off the hook. Roast pork with broccoli rabe was amazing. Pork was super tender, broccoli rabe was nice and garlicky, but that roll though. That seeded perfectly crunchy on the outside but airy on the inside roll? You could put a sock on bread that good and it would still be a great sandwich. Not sure if they make them in house or not...but wow. Chicken cutlet sandwich also had great flavor and held it's own. I will 100% be back when I'm in the area. Very impressed. PS - there's a surcharge to pay with card

Great sandwich place in Sewell. My favorite was the roast beef sandwich with fried onions. Excellent sandwich! I was not a big fan of broccoli rabe with the pork sandwich next time I will not order it with the rabe. Pork was tasty. Fries were fresh and tasty. There are some stool sittings at the counter many people order for takeout. Good and friendly service. Will definitely be back!

I've had several sandwiches from here, and still haven't had a cheesesteak yet!…read moreThere's nothing to dislike about this business. They greet you upon entering and are very accommodating. Everything is housemade here. That's what drew me in for a meatball parm, which was very good. The hot roast pork is delicious. The Italian hoagie had me taking an afternoon nap and smiling through it after eating it... But their hot roast beef is melt in your mouth amazingly good. I have never had a roast beef sandwich this good before... Do not choose what to have in the order I did. I could kick myself for not having the roast beef a long time ago.

We got a roast beef and cooper sharp cheese , roast beef with fried onions & cooper sharp , chicken cheesesteak with cooper sharp and broccoli rabe and a large order of potato wedges. The family that owns this is awesome. My daughter in law picked up the food and they gave her an Italian hoagie for free that someone didn't pick up and threw in some free red velvet cookies which were delicious! I asked my DIL to get dessert and she got a walnut Brownie, and a huge chocolate chip cookie. So yummy! Washington township location. Highly recommend great food great service. You won't be disappointed at either location as both great food and family run.

Having moved from PA to Jersey last year, I've been told by many that Pal Joey's is THE spot. This…read moreis the spot locals grew up going to, and still frequent for a classic nostalgic hoagie. My girlfriend loves their Italian, but I opted for a turkey and cheese hoagie, and a chicken cutlet hoagie (suprimo). Listen, I get it now. These were great sandwiches. They had so much flavor for the simplicity of the ingredients on each. The cutlet had great, homemade taste and the sweet roasted peppers were the chefs kiss. The turkey and cheese had the right amount of everything on it. The only thing I've noticed both times I've been there is that the seeded rolls are significantly harder than the non seeded. I'm not sure if they just sat out a while, but regardless it didn't take away from my experience, just something I noticed. Service is always quick and kind, and the inside has that old deli feel to it with some booths to sit in. Good quality flavor is always going to have people coming back!

We ordered 2 hoagies from Pal Joey's and they were just okay. A standard Italian hoagie consists of…read moremeat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Not at Pal Joey's. It's just meat and cheese. Since when do you have to tell a deli that you also want lettuce, tomato and onion? Or, if it's not automatically included, ask the customer if they want it on their sandwich. I will continue to get their macaroni salad as that is elite. Other than that, I'm done with them.
