I first discovered this place about 2 years ago. At first it was good - nice place and really friendly staff. But lately it has just gone down hill. First the turn-over in staff makes me question what is going on here. And what staff they do have left is really untrained. Two recent examples: 1) we asked for a glass of Chianti and we get a white wine. 2) we order the bread sticks (I think they call them garlic knots); somehow they screwed up one of the sticks (either they dropped it or burned it, I don't know). But instead of holding the order while they make a new one they serve the incomplete order and then bring out the one bread stick later. Strange. And the kicker, in the restaurant the lock on the bathroom door is broken. Instead of fixing it (it's what, $20 bucks for a new handle at Home Depot) they tape a sign to the door that says "Knock before entering". And then, the staff does not even bother to knock - one barged right in on me! WTF... Another reviewer mentioned the cleanliness (or lack there of) - I've got to agree, place is in dire need of janitorial serve. Quality of the food has suffered. We took the pizza & salad togo (we only ate the bread sticks & wine in the restaurant ). After getting home we ended up throwing away half the salad and three-fourths of the pizza. It was so bad that I opted to eat chips vs the pizza! And the wine in the restaurant - my best guess is it was watered down. I don't know, it was just not right. Won't be back anytime soon. We thought we'd try take out from a favorite Italian restaurant. I was disappointed that No one had masks on, cooks, waits staff, cashier. Disappointing as numbers continue to climb in Florida. read more

We ordered takeout today, Weds, 4/22/20 at 6PM, an XL with mushroom pizza, cheese bread and one Caesar salad. We arrived within 30 minutes and no one was at the front to help us. After a few minutes we hollered to the back to see if anyone was there and the three empoyees, a middle aged blonde women, a young dark haired lady and young man came out from the back. The older lady took something out of the oven that looked very black and burned and then when we looked at our pizza in the box it was very black and burned on the bottom and was not the correct order that we asked for as it was half mushroom and half plain instead of all mushroom. I asked for it to be redone and the older woman said I should have asked for it to be done light if I didn't want it burned. Then when she gave me the second one it was raw and had to be further cooked. They do not know how to cook pizza at this pizzeria, plain and simple, and it will be Lenny's from now on. Also. there was almost no orders there to be picked up so the problems were not caused by high volume and I wouldn't think they would be having that problem anyway with the very poor way they are running that store. The most important thing that I should mention is that they put the burned pizza that I had touched with my hands on several of the slices underneath, back in the display to sell them individually to new customers. At this time of a pandemic crisis that is about as reckless and irresponsible a thing that a food vendor could do and they should be investigated and inspected by the health department. read more

I used to regularly visit here because they had decent Paninis. I ordered both through work and through personal reasons for over 2 years. This place consistently messes orders up or forgets certain ones. Almost every time we would have to return something or go back and get it fixed. They never apologize, they always offer a free drink to go(which is okay when it's their first screw up but after so long that's no longer an acceptable apology after the 90th time). I went during the hurricane recently with the FULL expectation of a wait. They were one of the only places open. I ordered ONE panini. Had three people in front of me waiting for a to go and a full house. I stood for 20 minutes, watched the people in front of me who had ordered pizzas, calzones, etc. walk out with their orders. I made eye contact with someone and heard her ask where my Panini was. To my surprise they hadn't even STARTED the order yet! I watched him go in the back and do what I thought was preparing my panini -he wasnt. Another 25 minutes passed and I saw the panini not in the oven and she told him to throw it in. They forgot my order TWICE! While I was standing in front of them. I had reminded them twice while I was waiting, too. At this point I was hungry, pissed off, and wanted my money back. The woman at the counter(blonde with blue eyes) argues with me saying they're stressed out and busy and that my order is almost up. I argue with her that I've now watched them forget my order twice, I get that they are busy, but that doesn't excuse other people around and after me getting larger orders before they even touch mine, and I order from them all the time so this is NOT new to me. While this conversation at the front is happening, she spews something back in another language(Italian I think)and the guy who made it takes it out of the oven and ignorantly brings it up front, sits it on the counter, announces that it's ready loudly, and looks out into the crowd of people(I'm at the counter, he knows it's my order). I told her I was not taking it, and wanted the refund. She YELLED at me at this point and put her hand in my face. Once I stood my ground and told her I want the refund, she gave me my refund out of her TIP jar cash and change. So unprofessional. I was not out of reason with asking for a refund. I did not insult her, I didn't raise hell, I literally asked for my refund. I'd recommend you check out the many other pizza/pasta/subs joints in the area, as they remember your orders, get them right the first time, and know how to act professionally. read more

I have been going here for years and loved it. I went there this evening and no one in the entire building was wearing a mask. The cooks, servers, cashier, or customers. The floor was very dirty and our feet kept sticking to it. They have been out of the soda I've wanted the last three times I've been there. I used to get the Momma Mia's special for $22 now it's $25. Sorry, but I can't overlook the no masks. After many years being a satisfied customer and ordering once a week, I won't be back. It's very reckless to not take the pandemic seriously at a restaurant. I love this place my new favorite! so the mamas special is the way to go. 18 cheese pie, garlic knots,wings and pop. best deal in town. I used to like a place up the street but I HAVE CONVERTED!!! My pie was amazing it had a 1/4 inch of cheese on it unbelievable! garlic knots are cooked perfect and alot of them. Wings my recomendation would be mild or hot something with sauce i got garlic very good but needed sauce. Im lucky i have buffalo sauce on hand at all times. and the pop, well its sprite you cannot go wrong there. I love the look of the place very comfortable and welcoming.I need to go back there very very soon. There are too many pizza places in town they should all close and bow down to mama mia!!!! First, let me say - excellent pizza! I called in to order 2 slices to go, was asked if I could hold, sure, what was a 20 second order had me on hold for more than 6 minutes. The call is finally picked up again with "how can I help you". I replied I've been holding to place an order. Instead of admitting they forgot I was on hold and offering a simple apology - I get instead "well, I'm very busy here". Maybe so but over 6 minutes on hold? You forgot I was holding, plain and simple. Own it, say you're sorry and move on. Had I not been in my car heading to another business in the same area I would have hung up and gone somewhere else. They were so busy that there was only one table inside and there were no calls or other people coming in to pick up while I was there waiting for my order. Even when places are in full swing the hold time is not that long, so please, it's ok, things happen, just don't be a jerk about it. read more

Not sure what happened to this place, we use to go there a lot. We stopped for lunch on Friday and was told they no longer had lunch specials. It was obvious the waitress was upset the people in the food prep area, seemed to be upsetting her. I could hear them telling her to do this or that, she told them she did not have time, with already running the register, waiting on tables and cleaning them. They seem to think it was funny and laughed. This did not help our valentines day experience. The food was not the same as it used to be, it has change. My husband had a Calzone, which the outside was huge with a lot of ricotta inside, not sure what happened to the Pepperoni he asked for and unfortunately my husband really doesnt care for a lot of Ricotta. I had Spaghetti no cheese, no Parmesan. It came with Parmesan on it, so I sent it back. The next time it came back out could still taste the Parmesan and the meatballs was cold. The sauce that came with the meals tasted burnt. We will not go back! read more

Not very good. My meatball sandwich was over seasoned with something very weird and overpowering. My wife's lasagna was tasty but very dry and lacked sauce. My mother and daughter split a pizza which I tasted. It was very doughy and gooey and very salty. We threw more than half of our food away. We ordered two Expresso which took over 10 minutes to reach our table. It was the worst coffee I've ever had in my life. We left their coffee and walked next door and had coffee there. read more

Got a 10% discount tonight because the water that my dad was served had DEODORANT in it!! We had to ask the waitress several times to refill water and she still didn't bring any. There were only 3 or 4 other groups in the restaurant so my dad was frustrated with having to ask at least 3 times. She finally brought us water and my dad's had deodorant in it. My dad brought it back to the cook and the rest of the staff and they all agreed that it smelled like deodorant, so we got 10% off our check. Absolutely CRAZY!!! We have been ordering from here for years.....last night will be it for us. Issues: Asked for Alfredo on the pasta that came with two meals, told it would be a small upcharge. The small upcharge was an extra $5 per meal, and we didn't find out until we were at the cash register! Meatball sub was not ready until 5:15 Got home and there was no chicken parm in the bags, just pasta with meat sauce. The person who ordered the chicken does not eat red meat. Called the restaurant and was told they would deliver the meal. Gave them our address.....it never came. Therefore we were out the money paid for that dinner, that we had been charged an EXTRA $5 for! $73 for 4 takeout dinners (3 just spaghetti with meat sauce)..... one that was wrong.... is just too much. This place used to be consistent and reasonable. There is too much competition in Ormond with all the Italian restaurants....we will be trying some of the others. read more

I ordered delivery from here from Eat 24. Based off the three star rating I was hesitant to order and I didn't expect much. But holy cow! It was delicious!! The marinara OMG definitely tasted like it was homemade from an old family recipe. Bruschetta with chicken, while also a little different because it was mostly chicken and tomatoes on thick slices of bread, was also delicious. It comes drizzled with a delicious balsamic glaze. The soup of the day, I have no idea what it was, was also fantastic. This place was so good I ordered again on my second trip to Ormond Beach. I've given this place a try a few times. I don't know why. The food can be good, but is extremely inconsistent. Once the pizza they gave me was still had frozen cheese on it. Where to start? Dirty, slow, rude, and gross. Those are the first words that come to mind. Even the server agreed that this place sucks. The cook/manager/owner (guy with the Hitler haircut) took 45 minutes to send out my husband's pasta with no one else in the restaurant. I had finished my salad way before he got his food. Worst breakfast ever!!! We usually get pizza or sandwiches here- which are always great. Today we tried breakfast- huge mistake. The waitress clearly felt we were annoying her by our presence(btw- we were the only table there at 10 am on a Saturday!). She argued with us when my husband ordered sweet tea and was given unsweet tea. She brought me coffee with creamers and no spoon. Served our breakfast piecemeal- without silverware! And brought our toast - untoasted. When I cut into my broccoli, mushroom omelette uncooked egg white ran out onto my plate!! I told the angry waitress and she brought the Cook to our table, to tell me it was cheese- it was not cheese! Then to add insult to injury- we were charged $18.03 for food which was inedible. I'm glad I didn't read all of the recent reviews first, they all seem to be quite negative. My wife and I stopped in for the first time last night (a Monday) and had a very pleasant experience. Our server, Sabrina, was very polite and attentive. When we mentioned that it was our first time, she said "oh, you're in for a treat!" - and she was right. My wife ordered a "medium" ham & spinach Calzone. When they brought it out on a 10-12 inch square plate, both ends were hanging over the sides - this thing was a MONSTER!. She will likely get 4-5 meals out of it. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and angel-hair pasta. Normally priced at $13.95, last night it happened to be one of the many Daily Specials at only $7.99. While not jaw-dropping like the Calzone, the portions were very large and I will get two meals out of it. The meals also came with bread and a large salad. I ordered a draft beer ($2.50) and it was served in a very tall glass (at least 16 oz). With my first sip I noticed that the 'glass' was actually plastic. I asked Sabrina if they had any glass mugs available, and she quickly brought one out - filled to the top! I drank from that and then refilled from my plastic 'glass'. I saw quite a few other reviewers mention the lack of cleanliness. My wife and I are usually pretty quick to spot things like that, and nothing really caught our eye, so maybe they have cleaned up recently. We plan to go back again soon. read more

Placed an order for delivery, was told it would be 45 minutes "at the latest", 1 hour later I call for a status and they say the driver left 10 minutes ago (I am 5 minutes from their store). Another 10 minutes I call back and the "manager" says that the driver is on his way and argues that "Ormond Lakes is far away". I tell her I don't live in Ormond Lakes and give her my address to which she says the driver had to return because the pizza overturned in his car. What a joke, I didn't order pizza. The last two Sundays, we have ordered a White Pizza (my wife's favorite). While ordering the last two visits, we have advised the wait staff that we desire a lite amount of Ricotta cheese on our pizza. This evening we were serve a white pizza with the MOST RICOTTA CHEESE I have ever seen on a single pizza. It appears that Carlos the pizza maker, does not read the order tickets. The table behind us sent their pizza back--upon it's return they ate two pieces and threw the rest in the trash can. While pizza is not relatively expensive, you/we deserve to receive what we ordered. read more

Hit and miss with this place. Waited over 2 hours for delivery. Pizza was cold and crust tasted like the cardboard box it was delivered in. Calamari appetizer was undercooked, doughy, amd not fit to eat. The Penne Pasta was cold and cheese had hardened. Literally tossed the calamari in the garbage, pasta followed along with the pizza. This was very disappointing. We ordered a large pizza at 5:13pm we were told it would take 1 hr. or less. 6:23pm we still had no pizza. I called and asked how much longer they apologized and said it was on the way. 6:54pm it showed up. It was hot, under cooked crust, we ordered 1/2 pepperoni 1/2 mushrooms. The mushroom side was ok on topping but the pepperoni side was extremely light on the pepperoni. The cost was a little over $18.00. Costco makes a better pepperoni pizza with 3 times more pepperoni ( same size) for under $10.00. When someone orders a fresh made pizza they expect it to be better then what they can buy at a big box store. read more

I used their on-line service to order a carry-out pizza at 5:30 pm and it said to arrive in 15-30 min. I arrived 30 min later to just see it go in the oven. Then for 25 minutes they kept lying to me by saying it should only be 5-7 min. I was in a slight hurry but then waiting till 6:30 to walk out the door I was very much in a hurry. The restaurant had only 4 tables occupied so it wasn't because they were busy inside the restaurant. This is my 2nd poor experience in a row. I said with all the other pizza places in Ormond I said I would take my business to another restaurant that appreciated my business. The cashier said I don't care.
