We ate a L'Angole the night after Anna's Trattoria in Daytona. What a difference! L'Angole also has impeccable service and an upscale experience, but it also has the food to match. It's easy to drive by this place, but it's really worth making the reservation or taking a chance to eat there. My Pappardelle was Wow , great! The vodka sauce was so yummy and the pappardelle was obviously house made. I tried some of the other pastas and they were also freshly made. What a difference! The seafood was very fresh. The carpaccio was nicely done and presented, a nice size for 2. The portions ere also generous. I mentioned the service earlier. At this place, they retrieve your used cutlery and plates and replace them after every course. I really like this because I don't like having to lick off my cutlery between courses. Between the white tablecloths, the excellent and attentive service and the freshness of the fare, you really feel welcomed into a bit of Italy. Nice ambiance. The wine list has nice choices at good prices. I had the Chianti at $12. Nice pours too. read more

There are so many mediocre Italian restaurants in Florida. This is not one of them. My husband and I stopped in had an appetizer and ordered food to go. Service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious even though I had mine the following day. Ambiance was very pleasant except that our table was very close to the bathrooms. This is a small restaurant and we were walk ins so couldn't be too picky. My only complaint is that they don't have a bar which feels more comfortable when ordering food to go. Overall, an exceptionally good Italian place. We will definitely return whenever in the Ormond area. read more

I can best describe L'Angolo as outstanding food, stellar service in the most quaint and comfy restaurant in Ormond Beach! For starters I had the Insalat a Di Peri and we had bread with olive oil and pepper. For our main entrees hubby had a snapper that was melt in your mouth delicious accompanied by roasted vegetables and pasta. I had the delicious chicken Marsala with roasted vegetables and pasta as well. To close out our fantastic dinner we shared a warm creme brûlée made perfectly. Our server Andrea was very pleasant and attentive offering the list of specials and recommendations. It was a pleasure to thank the chef and owner Sal in person who greeted us at the end of our meal. If you want a 5 star dining experience visit L'Angolo! Tips: make a reservation in advance. There are 12 tables but you won't regret it! Don't pay attention the $$$$ rating. It's definitely Northern Style Italian Restaurant more dressy and for occasions The restaurant is small fir the amount of tables they have there no high end decor no booths no design to give you privacy The noise got very loud quickly. The specials need to be written down they rattle off 12 plus specials. The waitresses was very short tempered seemed annoyed we were over ordering. All four of us agreed our waitress was very short. The food was from scratch. Truly home made a $31 entree is very light you need to order 2-3 other courses to feel full. So if you are looking to spend $90 P/P then this is your place. Not sure if it will be worth coming back again the restaurant needs raised booths more separation of the tables there's no ambiance. This is a lovely restaurant and clearly beloved by locals! Spectacular food and very friendly service. Will definitely be coming back! We had the stuffed mushrooms, lobster ravioli, and linguini vongole, and all were absolutely delicious! My only suggestion for this restaurant would be to serve bread that is a little more bread than crust. All of the sauces that came with our food were so YUMMY and we wanted to dunk the bread, but it's too small and impermeable. This is the result of love and passion for cooking Italian food. This gem of a restaurant has been here for more than 5 years and I'm just now finding out about it. To think that I've missed on so many great opportunities, well that will just keep me coming back. Tonight I had the veal chop stuff with fontina cheeses and other amazing things, my wife had the marsala. I can say that the flavors were phenomenal. The service was above par for anything in the local area The only thing missing was crumbing between service. As I mentioned before the flavors were unreproachable and exactly as I had hoped they would be when I was ordering. I'm not a person that enjoys wine, so I can't comment on anything other than they have a relatively good list. Everything appeared to be handmade, and that is a great reflection of the passion. I hope that had commented that they would be able to broadcast their daily specials via email or have them posted on their website. I was impressed with the server in the beginning but once the bigger parties came in, she stopped paying attention to us. I had ordered a side Caesar salad, which was a typical size for being a side salad, but cost $11. I had a Stella beer which was a 12oz bottle poured into a fancy glass, which cost $10. Portions of food were generous and the menu offered many Italian choices. The food is traditional Italian with most made on the premises. Anna and Sal, the owners, were welcoming and made us feel as if we we at an Italian family dinner. The food was delicious, authentic, very satisfying serving sizes and reasonably priced. Everything was cooked perfectly! I was transported back to the days of family dinners at home of my Italian relatives. The dining room is large enough to not be too close to the next table, yet small enough to pleasantly converse with your dinner partners. This is now one of our favorite restaurants. read more

Our party of four walked in at 7:00 on a Wednesday evening and were very fortunate they had an open table, since we did not have reservations. The place is fairly small, and not a typical 'fine dining' experience, as people were noisily enjoying the great food and having a good time. We were seated right away and our drink and appetizer orders were taken fairly soon. It did take a little while for our meal orders to be taken, but not too long of a wait for our meals to be served. They were served hot and fresh, and the serving sizes were adequate (we had no take-home leftovers). I had the Chicken Pizzaiola, and I must say the marinara sauce is the best I've ever tasted. I also enjoyed it on the Meatballs appetizer. All four of us enjoyed our meals and we do plan to go back again. The only negative comments I have are that the food is a bit pricey for the serving size. For example, the Meatballs appetizer was $12 for only two normal sized meatballs (I consider them 'normal' because that's how big I make them at home). Larger meatballs, or a $6-$8 price would be more appropriate. But, then again, that marinara sauce was so good it almost makes it worth it. At least one more server would also be nice. Ours was quite busy with larger groups. Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the food very much. read more

Got takeout from here in the middle of a storm one time on my way out of Daytona and it was some of the best Italian I've had since visiting Europe. I had the mussel in white wine, flavorful and tender. I order the Chicken Francese fresh pasta and fresh flavors loved it. My brother had the meatballs and I would never think to order them but I will be getting them as an appetizer next time. I also order the lobster ravioli because I'm greedy by nature and they were perfect. My mother who doesn't like mixing seafood with pasta for some weird reason enjoyed them immensely as well. I live in Jacksonville, but I will be definitely visiting here more often. Can't recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and figure out firsthand, you won't regret it. read more

What an absolute gem. Went here last night with some family and was blown away on several levels. The place is cute, neat, and sleek. The service was super friendly and it was one of those places that the owners touch each table. We actually ended up staying pretty late as the owners joined us for some great conversation. The family and friends of our dear Aunt Marge (98 1/2 yrs young) who passed away last Saturday were getting together after her memorial service to celebrate her Wonderful Life. Besides opening just for our party of 25 they served some of the Freshest, Best Italian food and service you can ask for. Most of us are originally from NY and grew up eating some of the best Italian food found anywhere and we were not disappointed. Everyone loved the food and service. They truly are Special and their Love for what they do shines through in the Dishes Sal & his chefs create to the warm reception, service & smiles that Anna and her staff bestowed upon all of us. This is the third time we visited the restaurant in 2 months, the first two times the food and the staff were wonderful. However this past time things were totally different. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, however the service was terrible. After being ignored for more than 15 minutes, I finally called the server over and asked for coffee and the bill. We were charged for two full meals when we ordered one to split. Questioned the server got a lot of BS but nothing was changed. No tip was left and after that experience, not going back. We had an incredible dining experience on Saturday night at this fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere was intimate and warm, with clean modern decor. The service was professional and attentive but still friendly and relaxed (just the way we like it!). Oh and the food, fantastic!!!!! As an Italian American from New York City I was longing for a fine Italian restaurant for the three years we're living in this area. So happy to say "we found it!" We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary but we'll be coming back often, don't need a special occasion. The menu was incredible with so many interesting dishes plus other specials being offered that evening. We started with Clams Oreganoto with a delicious sauce and used the crisp fresh homemade bread to grab every last bit of sauce. Then we had the homemade gnocchi served with three different sauces (al freddo, pesto and marinara) the gnocchi were light and pillowing , perfect (again that bread was used for dipping). Entrees were equally delicious. Branzino Franchese served with homemade pasta (so light and tasty) and lobster/shrimp/scallop fra diavlo (zesty and spicy). Believe it or not we still had room to taste the homemade tiramisu. From beginning to end , a perfect meal. The wine list had good choices too Chef Salvatore said to let him know if we want anything special for our next meal, just tell him when we make reservations. You have to make reservations walkins are not allowed. Don't let the many $$$ discourage you from trying this place. Disappointed is an understatement... We made reservations for 8pm on Saturday (last night). Looking forward to trying this restaurant for the first time after hearing great reviews... well it was a joke! We walked in was immediately greeted. We told them the name for the reservation which we had made earlier the day. After about 10 minutes of trying to figure out who didn't write our name down for the reservation and only our telephone number. The staff went to the bar where they pointed at us for the next 5 minutes. Feeling completely uncomfortable while we have been there standing at the door for 15 minutes now. We were all there to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday! Other reservations that came in after us were already seated, which is NOT how a restaurant runs. The way the staff handled this situation was just terrible. We left not only upset but furious how this situation was handled! There was so many times they could of made it right, they never did! Shame on you... you lost a valued customer and ruined a night that was supposed to be one to never forget. read more

Have been to this restaurant twice and both times it was a disappointment. The food is only average at best and the dishes are all very salty making the seasoning the primary thing you taste instead of the flavors of the ingredients. The sauces are very heavy and rich, and not at all fresh and light to accent an ingredient. Instead, they overpower any dish they are on. The people are nice but I don't get the impression there are other authentic Italian dining options nearby, because any other restaurant with decent Italian food would really put a dent in their business. Also, the prices are not warranted given the quality of the food and dining experience. You can get a better meal at a more reasonable price at any chain Italian restaurant. read more
