Back when I lived here, 20 years ago, Mama Noi's was my go to place for a meatball sub. These things were HUGH and one of the reason's I left here being big as the side of a barn. My buddy and I were riding around town on my recent visit back home and I decided I wanted to eat here since it had been so long. My buddy got excited too because he loves the steak and cheese subs which is essentially a Philly cheesesteak . Off the top, my sandwich was decent but unless I'm misremembering it, the sandwich contents are a lot smaller than they used to be. The meatballs used to be so big that the sandwich was basically an open face with two giant meatballs and a large slab of cheese melted over it. The sandwich today had wall smaller meatballs which were consumed by the bread. The majority of it was bread with hardly any meat and the cheese was melted across the top. Still, it did what it was supposed to do; filled me up. This place does great business and I'm sure they have other good sandwiches but I doubt I'll be back. If I was gonna recommend ne thing from mama nois it would be the pizza sub without any onions or peppers. At least that's how I get mine but if you prefer 2 get them as well, I would recommend it. Make sure they make it fresh and u can't go wrong. read more

Service at this place is unbelievably terrible. A squirrel with ADHD could pay attention longer than the staff. They don't write it down and ask you repeatedly what you want. They make substitutions with out asking because they run out of what they have. To expensive for what you get. Don't waste your time and money here. read more

This place is definitely super casual, and really isan't that great looking on the inside, but the subs are good and reasonably priced. My favorite (and everyone I have taken here) has been the steak sub! The best part is probably their special sauce which is a bit like "yum yum sauce" at Japanese restaurants. If you get a steak sub, a soda, a delicious egg roll, and an extra cup of special sauce, it'll be about $8-$9! They also have a drive thru window for call-in orders!!! Unfortunately, this is about the fifth time they have failed to make my cheese steak correctly. They put fucking mustard on it, ignored my request to have extra cheese, and when i asked for spicy peppers I got tiny little mild pepper interspersed in the giant mountain of meat and grease. Cheese steak sub's are the very best. Egg rolls are wonderful. Fried cheese sticks are the best in town.

I will admit that I am biased on this one, since I used to come here as a teenager and get their subs-- the philly cheesesteak is the best! Their selection is unique and the service is always super nice. It might not be the most upscale or nicest restaurant in town but the food is damn good, with great seasoning. We are at the location in Ellerbe. We were driving thru on the interstate and needed to stop for lunch. This place fit the bill perfectly. Quick service. Enough choices on the menu. Cheap eats that were tasty. Their special sauce is tasty and the rolls were excellent.
