Visiting from San Diego we checked the yelp reviews for pokey bowls. Mama pokey came up as a top hit. Unfortunately it was not our experience. We ordered 3 poke bowls. Two with 2 protein and one with 3 protein. We also paid extra for avocado. There was very little fish in our bowls, not enough sauce, two dollars for maybe a third of an avocado. I wish I could say something positive, but unfortunately I can't. My son's bowl even had edamame which he hates! We did not order it like that. The one positive thing I can say was the service. I think she was the only person there. Maybe she is "Mama"? She was cook, cashier, etc. So she would stop making the food to take another order, answer the phone, hand out delivery orders to the drivers which made the process of getting our food a bit longer than if there was one more person to help her out. We also got two Hawaiian drinks and everything was about $60. Considering location and amount of food, I was very pleased! Everything was very delightful. Especially refreshing on a hot day! The owners were very friendly. I really appreciated their great customer service. I had the tuna poke bowl (half spicy, half regular) and everything tasted fresh and all the toppings went very well together. My daughter had the teriyaki pork bowl with rice and edamame. The pork was very tender and flavorful. She really enjoyed it. My husband had the spicy chicken bowl, which he said tasted good but wasn't very spicy. We also really liked their drink selection. The Poke here is pretty decent. But the main reason to head here is the dumplings! They are homemade and made fresh by Mama herself everyday, no frozen stuff here! And they are fabulous. Ask about the bone broth soup on the DL! I'm addition to Poke and dumplings you can find a nice variety of cooked bowls like spicy chicken and pork belly. They might go a little heavy with the sauce on the poke bowls, so I would suggest maybe asking for lighter sauce if you're not a fan of soaked rice. I got the mama special poke bowl (salmon and spicy tuna) $15.99. The flavor of the entire bowl mixed together was pretty tasty. Not sure the portion is enough to keep me full though. Employee was nice. The interior decorations were confusing. Super bright mismatched colors, 4 small floor mats next to each other but 3 of them were different so it looked odd. They could make more effort on the interior decorations to help with the fengshui. I think the portions and flavor at motomaki are much better. For that reason I give this three stars. read more

By far the worst experience I have had with a restaurant here. We were told the food would take 25 mins. Went back in after 25 mins and was told 7 mins. Took 35 mins total. This is absolutely ridiculous. If the food was amazing sure...the buns were awful and not BBQ buns not sure what they were. More than half the "meat" was fat. Inedible. We were given a "sauce" for it tasted like soy sauce and vinegar. The Poke bowl looked ok and tasted just ok...but for the price it was not worth it. We didn't even get a real receipt. Not sure why some reviewers stated this is authentic. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

Dumplings. The common yet not so common bond of those of us within the Asian heritage, done well, with care, or dismissively, with sloppy results and appropriate tastes. The bao zi as well - those wonderful Chinese bbq pork buns savory and sweet. Mama does a great job with both, satisfying the taste buds, giving some of us recollections of home and moments within our youth. She makes them all, carefully hand cutting the interior ingredients, not machine processed and shredded into oblivion. One can certainly make a meal with these delicacies. BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE! The poke is also tasty, with heat if that's what desired. One can get the salmon and tuna bowl - Mama's special - or make your own concoction to which Mama can provide wonderful suggestions. What is up with Poke Bowls in Colorado Springs? I could buy better Poke Bowls at grocery stores in suburban Austin, Texas.

We feel completely misled by all the positive reviews. We love Ramen. We lived in Hawai'i and know what good ramen tastes like. This place was by far the worst ramen we have ever had. Bland. (Even after adding the chile). The ramen was not fresh. It was taken out from a plastic bag. I could've bought the same ramen from the grocery store. The egg was horrible. Horrible. PRICED ARE RIDICULOUS. I FEEL LIKE I WAS JUST ROBBED. It shouldn't cost that much. Dumplings were ok. Nothing special. I wouldn't recommend this place. Maybe they're under new management?? Idk.
