Such a delightful dinner! My husband picked out this restaurant on our first night of vacation in…read moreNaples area. We are both adventurous eaters but I do have some dietary restrictions. It turns out that we were talking to John, the owner, and he gave some great recommendations for me (and did note where an ingredient could or could not be left out for me). We snacked on plantains with black bean dip and an incredible octopus salad while waiting for our dinner. I cannot say enough good things about the octopus salad - the chilled mild octopus was complimented by the briny olives, sweet onion slices and salty bites of potato. I prefer to eat smaller meals throughout the day so I just ordered the beef empanadas small plate for my dinner -- knowing I would also get a bite of my husband's dinner too. He ordered the snapper, which they ran out of and substituted branzino. Very good! The malanga chips were more like fries and were a great surprise - never had them before and we enjoyed them. The branzino was perfectly cooked and the rice was extremely flavorful. My only regret is that we were not in Naples longer to make a return visit to explore the menu further!

We had a server named Alexis this time, and he was incredibly sweet, attentive, and genuinely great with people. He made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for families, but still great for anyone looking to enjoy a good meal. There's truly something on the menu for everyone, whether you're picky or adventurous. You can tell they really care about both the food and the overall experience. Definitely one of my favorite spots, and I'll keep coming back every time I'm in town!

Best restaurant we've tried in Fort Myers so far!…read more AMBIANCE The vibe in here is great - fun lighting and decor, with plenty of seating and great AC. There are some patio seats outside as well. SERVICE The best part of our visit! Our server was awesome - giving us real-time feedback on what to order and what we should try. He gave us awesome recommendations that didn't lead us astray. He was attentive, friendly, and personable. Even though they were slammed and packed, he checked in on us often and food came out in a timely manner. DRINKS Delicious and great variety! My dad got a marg with tajin rim, my brother got a coconut mojito, and I got a fun frozen drink. All delish! They have aguas frescas, mocktails and more too. FOOD This brought me back to Puerto Rico! Such authentic and fun flavors here. We got: Sampler appetizer - highly recommend! Tons of food, great for sharing, and a great way to try things like fried plantains and mofongo balls. Concha meal with gandules side - unreal! I forgot how good concha can be. And our server recommended the gandules - Puerto Rican rice that is the national dish - and it was amazing. I wish we'd had room for dessert - it all looked amazing! We will be back for SURE.

We entered the establishment, we noticed a couple of people eating and the server was walking us to the table with the menus and I noticed she didn't grab the lunch menu, luckily I did grab it and took it to our table. We ordered two lunch specials both with arroz guandules, salad, I got fried chicken chunks, with tostones and my boyfriend got fried pork chunks with sweet plantains. The food arrived promptly. They served us large portions. I especially liked the rice and the fried chicken chunks. The tostones were a little on the hard side. My boyfriend was a little upset with the fried pork chunks. He said the meat was cold and hard. (Ouch) The restaurant was a little empty, but what you expect on a Monday afternoon. The restaurant seems like it could be a vibe on the weekends. I love Puerto Rican food and I see they offer an extensive menu and might give it another try if come through the area again one day.

We decided to go family-style and ordered several different dishes so that we had variety and leftovers to take home. We started with Papas Locas with steak, and they were amazing. The Mofongo with pernil was absolutely delicious and probably my favorite dish of the evening. The arroz mamposteado and maduros amarillos were both so flavorful, as was the shrimp in creamy garlic sauce my friend ordered (shellfish allergy here). We ordered beef, beef and cheese, cheese pizza, and guava and cheese empanadas and all were fantastic. We finished with tres leches and flan for dessert. The flan is made with cheese and some of the best I've ever eaten. Doris is the owner, and she was so warm and inviting and giggled at how much food we ordered. We will absolutely be back.

The service was good especially since I was in a group of 14 in a place that can only hold 31. The food was great. The flavor of the Arroz con gandules reminds me of my mom's rice, for anyone that knows me, is a great compliment. It was a hair dry and just a bit undercooked but the flavor, great. The mofongo was amazing. The Penil (roasted pork) was on point. The food took a little while to come out but I think it's due to do many orders at the same time. The owner was the restaurant was great and reminded of my grandpa, very friendly and outgoing. I will be coming back

The restaurant is located in a small strip shopping center just north of the Greenwood Shopping Center on Congress Ave. in Palm Springs. We arrived at a good time as the inside is rather small. By the time we left, almost every table was full. Many people picked up take out orders throughout our meal. La Cosinita is a very busy restaurant! This was our first time trying Puerto Rican food. My husband ordered Mofongo stuffed with chicken and peppers and was very pleased with his choice. The portion size was quite generous. I ordered the Chicken de Plancha. My chicken was grilled to perfection and accompanied by plantains and black beans and rice. I enjoyed every bite. Our server checked on us several times during our meal. She was also very patient when we ordered as we weren't familiar with some of the menu items. The prices and portion sizes of our meals were a good value. This small but busy restaurant is a neighborhood gem!
