Here, I have my options of either going one of their specialty Mac n cheese or build it items or go the route of the grilled cheese sandwich. Depending on the mood you are in, you could go in either direction or do a grilled cheese with Mac n cheese inside it as well, which they call the Best of Both Worlds. I have had many of the options. Being from Boston originally, my money is with the lobster Mac n cheese or grilled cheese with bacon, white cheddar and Parmesan cheese. The short rib Philly Mac n cheese or grilled cheese is also stout and magical. Ultimately, if you know what to seek based on your mood, then you can customize how you want. They have gluten-free pasta and bread if you are celiac or gluten sensitive. My wife appreciate this. Their service works quickly. They have a very organized and well-run system to prepare and cook the items for your meal. I have never had slow service there. They have been spot on.

Hoping for a fun twist on grilled cheese sandwiches, we ordered two "kids' grilled cheese sandwiches meals" for our boys, expecting the mac and cheese noodles to be inside the bread, but instead, we just got plain cheese sandwiches. My boys didn't mind, but my daughter wasn't thrilled with her mac and cheese bowl; she barely ate it. They did serve it in a cute little heart shaped bowl which was the perfect serving for her. Our boys meal came with tater tots on the side with a tomato dip. We had an option of apple juice or fountain drinks. They opted for the fountain drinks which gave them an option to refill as much as they'd like. On a positive note though, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the staff were really friendly and attentive, which was nice. Overall, the vibe was great, but the food didn't quite hit the mark for us. It was okay, but we were hoping for a bit more excitement in the meals.

NEVER AGAIN!!!! This…read moreplace is horrible. I gave it another chance, and somehow this experience was even worse than the last one. Once again, there were no rib tips available, and this time it was only 4:00 PM. That alone was frustrating, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. Today, with some hesitation, I took my uncle to Off the Bone for the first time. He wanted ribs, and he did not realize this place was right down the street from him. I told him I would take him there, but I warned him that this restaurant is very hit-or-miss because they often do not have the food you actually want. Unfortunately, today proved my point. Not only were there still no rib tips, but because of his health, my uncle did not want to travel farther just to find some. So we settled for ribs instead. Trying to stay positive, I ordered 2 rib dinners and 4 slices of cake. I specifically requested sweet barbecue sauce only, because neither my uncle nor I eat mustard. Of course, when the food came out, the ribs had a mix of sweet sauce and mustard sauce on them. I was told it was "some other sauce," but it was absolutely not what I asked for. I immediately asked the young man to take it back because I do not eat mustard and that was not my order. A few minutes later, he brought the food back. In the same container, they had simply poured more red sweet sauce over the food that already had mustard sauce on it. I was shocked. At that point, I immediately asked for my money back. He said, "Give me a minute," walked away, and then came back again, not with a refund, but with the same food in the same container. This time, it looked like they had tried to wipe the sauce off and put new sauce on the same ribs again. Who does that? By then, I told the young man I was getting very upset and that I only wanted my money back. Again, he walked away and came back, but still did not refund me. Instead, he brought out another rib dinner. This time it appeared to be a fresh plate, but with even less meat than before. My uncle looked at me and just shook his head. By then, he had already started eating his ribs with the mustard and sweet sauce mixed together just to keep the peace. Rather than continue arguing in front of him, I accepted the replacement plate and sat down to eat with him. The young man then asked me if I was okay, and I told him plainly: No, I am not okay. I explained to him that I am also a business owner, and this is not how customers should be treated. I also made it clear that I would be posting this review. I paid over $55, and this is how I was handled. To make matters worse, I had forgotten to tip the young man when I first ordered, so afterward I bought 2 bottles of water specifically so I could leave him a $10 tip. Looking back, after the way this situation was handled, keeping that tip felt like an insult. When we walked out, I said, "Never again." My uncle immediately said, "Never again too." Bringing me back the same food three times was completely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about food quality and proper handling. Refusing my refund twice was poor customer service. And after everything that happened, keeping my $10 tip felt like a complete slap in the face. Like I said before: DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

When I checked Howley's on yelp I was surprised that there were so many negative reviews. Howley's is managed by the Sub-Culture Group, and we dine regularly at Kapow in East Boca and Dada in Delray Beach, also managed by Sub-Culture. And while this is an entirely different type of food, I still wanted to take a chance and check them out. And we did and were pleased and more than satisfied. First, the decor is truly funky. I'm not sure if everything is from the 50's when they first opened, but it sure looked like it was. The restaurant was spotless, and the toilet was as well. The AC was strong which was appreciated. Artwork on the walls was not our style but must have been from a local artist. Ceiling fixtures were similar to what my parent's had in the late 60's. Jessica was our server and she was professional and positive in her attitude. Could not have asked for anything more. Decided to order a turkey club on rye bread ($15) with fries which were included and share it. Some of the reviews addressed how large their portions were and photos confirmed it. Jessica brought out the sandwich which was split in the kitchen with an ample amount of fries on each plate. The fries were delicious. Obviously freshly made and not sitting around, they were crisp without being overcooked. The turkey was described as fresh roasted sliced turkey and it sure was. Bacon was plentiful and crispy along with fresh lettuce and tomato. Mayo served on the side as requested. The sandwich was so large that I was only able to eat a half of my half, taking the rest home for the following day. Ordered a corn muffin and chocolate chip muffin to take home and each was fresh and delicious. ($5-$6) Howley's certainly warrants a visit if you are in the area and not seeking a trendy looking place which exists all over West Palm where the food may not be as good but the vibe is what is being sold with mediocre food. There was an on-site manager who visited our table to make sure all was good. I neglected to ask her name and apologize - she was welcoming and clearly on top of her managerial duties. Would I return? Sure would. And endorse fellow helpers to check them out.

We got a full rack of ribs, side of mac & cheese, coleslaw, and potato salad as well as some stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeño peppers. We pulled down the bed on the truck and nibbled a little bit before we hit the road. I was incredibly shocked of how good the ribs were. This is now my favorite rib spot in town for barbecue places. The meat was so tender It fell right off the bone and had a black pepper seasoning taste to it. I'm a sauce whore and love sauces but could definitely eat these without any barbecue sauce. Out of all the sides we got I would definitely get the potato salad again. It was probably my favorite I've ever had. Now anytime we pass the area we're gonna have to stop to get some ribs and potato salad. I can't believe my niece who lives out here has been gate keeping this place.
