Dropped by last weekend for a late lunch while in the area. Not too busy as the lunch crowd as dispersed by 2 when we arrived. We started with the potato skins which were pretty tasty. Loaded with crispy bacon and cheese and a side of sour cream, we were off to a good start. Unfortunately the main course was a little lacking. I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn pudding. The fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans were just lacking in flavor which was a bummer because the corn pudding was very good. We did get a slice of the banana pudding cake based on our server's rave review and wow was it a redeemer! Perfectly moist cake with banana pudding layered in just made for a perfect dessert. We will be coming back for more of it in the future!

Had a weekend breakfast here when we were in the mood for a good diner and this delivered in all the right ways. It was fantastic fast service with a simple homey ambiance and the food was delicious with good prices and large portions. I loved that they had good meat options beyond just pork since I don't eat pork and the turkey sausage was actually good. My fiancé loved the Carolina breeze omelet. Would I go back? 100% yes, this will probably be our new go to diner.

Visit 28 SEP Ending parents weekend at WF with the wife, my son (an Assoc. AD there) and two of his excellent friends is worth 5 stars. My immediate impression of this pleasant place tucked into a strip mall near the university is a hybrid of IHOP, the classic Greek diner, and a dash of fancy brunch spot. My dining partners shared that there had been a recent decor upgrade, it works, lots of family photos. The service was effective and friendly. Our direct server was a sweet older woman that gave off nice Aunt vibes (with a bit of a take no stuff salty dog). They all help each other bringing food and those folks were non-nonsense but pleasant as well. We got four full meals and a take out Avacado Toast for a missing wife who had worked late night fire dept. duties. (They brought that out as we were getting check so it didn't sit too long, I thought that was a nice touch). Orders came out reasonably quickly, although we were busy talking and laughing so no real time measure conducted. Everyone enjoyed there meal, not a lot leftover. I had a western omelet with grits, and a biscuit. While the eggs were a bit more well done than I prefer, it was all fine, no complaints. My wife remarked on her corn pudding, everyone liked the biscuits, looked great (a bit dense for my preference, but executed well for that style). The chicken and waffles one person got looked great, I had a little entree envy. If we get a chance to come back I will try that. Solid place, decent food, effective service, reasonable prices, clean updated decor.

The Avocado toast was full of flavor, not a huge fan of the pickled onions on it, I'll just get it without next time, but I still enjoyed it and the wait staff has always been friendly whenever I go here for breakfast. Ambiance feels very homie and family oriented, check it out if you want some good breakfast! Coffee is basic, but I expected it. (Folgers/Maxwell house type)

I always amazed to find a great place I've never been to. I've lived here for 25 years. Mama Zoe- is a definite must eat at place!! Our waitress was top notch!! The food was delicious ious and made fresh. Potato cakes!! Order them. So good!!!

I had lunch here today for the first time and it was pretty good! I got the chicken fried steak which came with mashed potato's and two more sides AND a corn muffin- it was a very large portion of food. I chose the corn pudding and the potato cakes as my additional sides... yeah, then I realized when it came what a sea of beige I had selected but... nonetheless, it was very tasty. The chicken fried steak was a fair portion, cooked well, not chewy and topped with a flavorful sausage gravy. The mashed potatoes.. tasted like jazzed up instant potatoes. Meh. The corn pudding- a bit overly sweet for my liking, but good. The potato cakes- nice, fried, like tiny latkes. The corn muffin- especially good. I'll definitely be back! The value you get is pretty tremendous and it's a nice, clean venue.

Mama Zoe's is an amazing family restaurant that is a stable in the community. Located in a strip mall it reminds me of a NY Diner. They have breakfast, lunch, & dinner available all day. It's busy all the time but especially on Sundays for brunch, as everyone seems to come after church. Ambiance is casual and inviting. Very laid back atmosphere. Staff is friendly and courteous. They are on top of everything and serve you quickly. Your order is always correct and I have never had an issue. The breakfast Choi es are my favorite. They have some very unique dishes. The different types of egg Benedict's and Skillets are all amazing. Today I got the croissant scramble, two scrambled eggs with ham, spinach and cheddar on top of an open croissant with hollandaise sauce covering it all. OMG it was amazing. The burst of flavors in every bite was the perfect blend. It all blended very well. I try to have a different dish every time I come here but this dish is going to make it hard. My wife got the crab cakes Benedict's and loved it. I had a bite......actually two......those crab cakes were delicious. Good chunks of well seasoned crab. I was not sure about hollandaise sauce on them but it actually works. Once again a great meal for reasonable prices. Love this place! Come get you some

Home cooking never disappoints and mama Zoe always delivers. We went in for a Saturday brunch and we're able to walk in with no wait which I don't think is usually the case. I went with the avocado toast and 1. It was MASSIVE 2. It was delicious. The potato cakes were recommended and they were absolutely delicious. I need to go back for pot pie ASAP.

This place is always the tops. Dining room has been beautiful since the upgrade. Rice pudding here is awesome. Prices are right, service is great, can handle large groups.

4.5 stars! One of the best restaurants hands down in Winston. Fast friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, amazing food, super clean, and good prices. 100% authentic Greek food and everything in between- Mexican, pasta, steak. They have a little bit of everything, so anyone in your party will find something great. I have tried several things on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Owners are great folks, will know your name after only a couple of visits and will enjoy seeing returning patrons; they love building repeat customers. Go today, you won't regret it!

I decided to try out Mama Zoe's breakfast and I was not disappointed. The place has a nice modern farmhouse feel that is steeped in family that made it feel like home. Our waitress was quick to get our drink and food orders and our cups were never empty. The food came out promptly and was hot. The sausage was delicious and the home fries were well seasoned. My favorite part was the hot flaky biscuit and side of gravy!

We didn't have to wait at all for a table and it was pretty busy. The decor in this restaurant is very modern and cute. Our super nice waitress took our drink orders. I got their coffee. Delicious! I love a good cup of coffee and it is served in a very cute coffee mug with their logo on it. I ordered the Mama Zoe's Eye Opener and it was so delicious. The eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. The good quality sausage was super tasty. My absolute favorites in this dish were the biscuits and grits. The biscuits were soft buttery and melt in your mouth. The grits had the right consistency and were seasoned just right. Our waitress visited our table often and the manager checked in to make sure we were doing alright and to help clear empty plates from our table. Top notch service! Prices are reasonable for breakfast and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely come back to this establishment.

We have always wanted to try this place out seeing it many times off of the roadway and it looked interesting because it was a converted gas station. As we parked and approached campus gas we noted that there was plenty of outdoor seating, primarily wooden benches, tables and places to lounge around outside near the fire pit. There were people enjoying a drink and playing a lively game of cornhole. We strolled around then went inside to explore what the business had to offer in the way of drinks and maybe get something to eat. As it turned out, it was around 9 o'clock, and the lady that came out from the kitchen told me that the kitchen was closed for the evening so we weren't able to get any food at that time so we walked around inside and looked at the small things for sale and the decorations saw the nice high top bar and chairs and since things were winding down, we decided to leave instead of having something to drink. We didn't see a bartender or someone to serve us a drink anyway. So as it stands, we'll have to come back by some other time and check it out. I hear the food is interesting, casual and good and there are a lot of beer selections. I look forward to coming back another time and trying the food and drink.

It's an old-style gas station you'd expect to find on Route 66 that has been converted into what I'll call a local pub. It's got some simple comfort foods to go along with a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Barstool table seating inside with picnic tables outside. They've got a cornhole set outside to complete the backyard picnic feel, and I've even seen customers seated with their dogs. Very cool. My wife and I were cheerfully greeted when we walked in. We shared an order of chicken tenders and tater tots. My wife got a bottled water, and I picked a NA beer from their selection. Finally, someplace that carries an assortment of NA beers! The food took a while to come out, but this isn't a fast-food joint and it was nice to slow down and have a conversation. The chicken tenders and tater outs were hot and tasted great. Definitely a generous portion of both and I'm glad we got just one order. In summary, the place is nothing fancy. It's just a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some comfort foods and frosty beverages. It's definitely on our "will return" list.

There was a 20 min wait and we were starving after a long travel day and eager to get to campus so we ate at the mediocre crepes restaurant next door instead. When we picked her up a week later I was prepared with reservations. However, when we checked in they told us they don't take reservations so it must be for their sister restaurant (oops) and the wait was even longer this time. One of the hostesses mentioned there would be seating clearing at the bar within minutes, which was good enough for us. We sat down 3 minutes later and ordered a few minutes after that. My daughter went for a cheeseburger which she happily ate stating that the food at Wake was NOT good all week. My husband enjoyed his turkey club and packed the other half for his flight later that evening (lunch and dinner). I went with the crab cake appetizer, which I thought was just OK. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the sandwich so I probably should have gotten that instead, but didn't want to be tempted with the bread and fries. We were in and out within 30 minutes, which I appreciated since we had a drive to Chapel Hill ahead of us. Overall, it was a solid meal and I'm guessing a favorite for those affiliated with the campus.

No other way to describe it. I also loved the fact they served it with warm and toasted bread pieces.....added another depth of flavor to the entire bite. Entire thing was filled with crab meat as well. I'm used moreso to the chunkier style of crab dip, if that makes any sense, but whatever they did to theirs passed my test. For our entrees, we both opted for burgers. I've been waiting something that isn't a smash burger for quite sometime. No disrespect to smash burgers, but I've been wanting a thick, hand patted burger and they delivered. I ordered the tavern burger with the medium cook and a side of fries. Burger cook was perfect. One thing I loved was that the actual patty had char marks on it & it added more flavor to it. Very juicy and flavorful. Their fries were solid too....crispy yet soft in the middle. My wife got their bacon jam burger with a well done cook and she raved about how juicy it was. The cook was to her preference as well. She wasn't too impressed with the pasta salad as a side, but she did get an order of sweet potato fries and they were great as well. Finished the evening with their carrot cake and key lime pie to go and they were both delicious. Their key lime may be the best I've had in this area. Our server Morgan was awesome as well. Very attentive and helpful with the menu suggestions and explaining the things she personally liked, along with what was popular with other patrons. Their setup is odd....not saying that in a bad way, but its an older building and the layout says that. We were seated very quickly. Again, Morgan was awesome and made sure we were taken care of. The ambiance was good....very apt for a date night. Didn't get the chance to check out any of the other dishes around, but everyone seemed pleased with the service and the food. Will be back again to try some of their other entrees.

When we first walked in, it was busy and we heard the hostess tell the couple in front of us they would need to wait over an hour for a table - Lucky for me my wife made reservations and we were seated immediately! It was a bit on the noisy side but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our servers, Thomas, was fantastic start to finish with good recommendations, attentive service without being overbearing, and a great personality. Good staff make a business shine! We started with glasses of wine and were impressed with how generous they poured. Perhaps it was a visual illusion, but they felt like very large glasses of wine and made it feel like a very good value. They have a good selection of wines to choose from along with a full bar. Appetizer was the Crab Cake Egg Rolls, something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They're cooked in Beef Tallow which gave a very savory flavor and crispy texture. They were a bit on the oily side but overall flavor was delicious, and I really liked the dipping sauce which was like a very herb-heavy tartar sauce. For entrees, my wife had the Filet and I had a New York Strip. I don't have the words to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared both of these were. I didn't even bother asking for steak sauce because the perfectly tender and seasoned steak didn't need it. Nobody wants to pay high prices for a steak and receive something low quality, and I was thrilled with the quality of the steaks here. Surrounding tables likewise had great looking meals and I overheard them voicing pleasure too. As sides go, the baked potatoes and salads were excellent too. I got the hot bacon vinegarette dressing and was surprised it was actually served quite hot. It had a really rich and slightly tangy flavor that was unique and I really enjoyed on my salad. I have no complaints here and will absolutely be back. Of course it's on the pricey end, but this is the type of establishment you reserve for a special night out, not your average Tuesday night.
