Dropped by last weekend for a late lunch while in the area. Not too busy as the lunch crowd as dispersed by 2 when we arrived. We started with the potato skins which were pretty tasty. Loaded with crispy bacon and cheese and a side of sour cream, we were off to a good start. Unfortunately the main course was a little lacking. I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn pudding. The fried steak, mashed potatoes and green beans were just lacking in flavor which was a bummer because the corn pudding was very good. We did get a slice of the banana pudding cake based on our server's rave review and wow was it a redeemer! Perfectly moist cake with banana pudding layered in just made for a perfect dessert. We will be coming back for more of it in the future!

Had a weekend breakfast here when we were in the mood for a good diner and this delivered in all the right ways. It was fantastic fast service with a simple homey ambiance and the food was delicious with good prices and large portions. I loved that they had good meat options beyond just pork since I don't eat pork and the turkey sausage was actually good. My fiancé loved the Carolina breeze omelet. Would I go back? 100% yes, this will probably be our new go to diner.

Visit 28 SEP Ending parents weekend at WF with the wife, my son (an Assoc. AD there) and two of his excellent friends is worth 5 stars. My immediate impression of this pleasant place tucked into a strip mall near the university is a hybrid of IHOP, the classic Greek diner, and a dash of fancy brunch spot. My dining partners shared that there had been a recent decor upgrade, it works, lots of family photos. The service was effective and friendly. Our direct server was a sweet older woman that gave off nice Aunt vibes (with a bit of a take no stuff salty dog). They all help each other bringing food and those folks were non-nonsense but pleasant as well. We got four full meals and a take out Avacado Toast for a missing wife who had worked late night fire dept. duties. (They brought that out as we were getting check so it didn't sit too long, I thought that was a nice touch). Orders came out reasonably quickly, although we were busy talking and laughing so no real time measure conducted. Everyone enjoyed there meal, not a lot leftover. I had a western omelet with grits, and a biscuit. While the eggs were a bit more well done than I prefer, it was all fine, no complaints. My wife remarked on her corn pudding, everyone liked the biscuits, looked great (a bit dense for my preference, but executed well for that style). The chicken and waffles one person got looked great, I had a little entree envy. If we get a chance to come back I will try that. Solid place, decent food, effective service, reasonable prices, clean updated decor.

The Avocado toast was full of flavor, not a huge fan of the pickled onions on it, I'll just get it without next time, but I still enjoyed it and the wait staff has always been friendly whenever I go here for breakfast. Ambiance feels very homie and family oriented, check it out if you want some good breakfast! Coffee is basic, but I expected it. (Folgers/Maxwell house type)

I always amazed to find a great place I've never been to. I've lived here for 25 years. Mama Zoe- is a definite must eat at place!! Our waitress was top notch!! The food was delicious ious and made fresh. Potato cakes!! Order them. So good!!!

I had lunch here today for the first time and it was pretty good! I got the chicken fried steak which came with mashed potato's and two more sides AND a corn muffin- it was a very large portion of food. I chose the corn pudding and the potato cakes as my additional sides... yeah, then I realized when it came what a sea of beige I had selected but... nonetheless, it was very tasty. The chicken fried steak was a fair portion, cooked well, not chewy and topped with a flavorful sausage gravy. The mashed potatoes.. tasted like jazzed up instant potatoes. Meh. The corn pudding- a bit overly sweet for my liking, but good. The potato cakes- nice, fried, like tiny latkes. The corn muffin- especially good. I'll definitely be back! The value you get is pretty tremendous and it's a nice, clean venue.

Mama Zoe's is an amazing family restaurant that is a stable in the community. Located in a strip mall it reminds me of a NY Diner. They have breakfast, lunch, & dinner available all day. It's busy all the time but especially on Sundays for brunch, as everyone seems to come after church. Ambiance is casual and inviting. Very laid back atmosphere. Staff is friendly and courteous. They are on top of everything and serve you quickly. Your order is always correct and I have never had an issue. The breakfast Choi es are my favorite. They have some very unique dishes. The different types of egg Benedict's and Skillets are all amazing. Today I got the croissant scramble, two scrambled eggs with ham, spinach and cheddar on top of an open croissant with hollandaise sauce covering it all. OMG it was amazing. The burst of flavors in every bite was the perfect blend. It all blended very well. I try to have a different dish every time I come here but this dish is going to make it hard. My wife got the crab cakes Benedict's and loved it. I had a bite......actually two......those crab cakes were delicious. Good chunks of well seasoned crab. I was not sure about hollandaise sauce on them but it actually works. Once again a great meal for reasonable prices. Love this place! Come get you some

Home cooking never disappoints and mama Zoe always delivers. We went in for a Saturday brunch and we're able to walk in with no wait which I don't think is usually the case. I went with the avocado toast and 1. It was MASSIVE 2. It was delicious. The potato cakes were recommended and they were absolutely delicious. I need to go back for pot pie ASAP.

This place is always the tops. Dining room has been beautiful since the upgrade. Rice pudding here is awesome. Prices are right, service is great, can handle large groups.

4.5 stars! One of the best restaurants hands down in Winston. Fast friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, amazing food, super clean, and good prices. 100% authentic Greek food and everything in between- Mexican, pasta, steak. They have a little bit of everything, so anyone in your party will find something great. I have tried several things on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Owners are great folks, will know your name after only a couple of visits and will enjoy seeing returning patrons; they love building repeat customers. Go today, you won't regret it!

I decided to try out Mama Zoe's breakfast and I was not disappointed. The place has a nice modern farmhouse feel that is steeped in family that made it feel like home. Our waitress was quick to get our drink and food orders and our cups were never empty. The food came out promptly and was hot. The sausage was delicious and the home fries were well seasoned. My favorite part was the hot flaky biscuit and side of gravy!

We didn't have to wait at all for a table and it was pretty busy. The decor in this restaurant is very modern and cute. Our super nice waitress took our drink orders. I got their coffee. Delicious! I love a good cup of coffee and it is served in a very cute coffee mug with their logo on it. I ordered the Mama Zoe's Eye Opener and it was so delicious. The eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. The good quality sausage was super tasty. My absolute favorites in this dish were the biscuits and grits. The biscuits were soft buttery and melt in your mouth. The grits had the right consistency and were seasoned just right. Our waitress visited our table often and the manager checked in to make sure we were doing alright and to help clear empty plates from our table. Top notch service! Prices are reasonable for breakfast and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely come back to this establishment.

The sides are very small for the price point and my roll was not included. The food could use seasoning. For this place to be so out of the way, it is not worth it for take out as the restaurant does not properly prep for a long drive. There are ways that the food could be packaged to preserve some of the heat. The meat should be wrapped in foil to keep the styrofoam box from making it soggy. The restaurant is quaint but for the price, there are better soul food options. Lack of seasoning and tiny portions are a turn off.

Although it's tucked away in an unassuming business district, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm, inviting space and exceptional service. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the attention to detail throughout our meal was outstanding. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. It was served over a bed of crisp sliced cucumbers and the most amazing vinegar coleslaw. The combination of flavors was fresh, light, and memorable. Even the warm dinner rolls were outstanding and set the tone for the meal. For our entrées, the meatloaf was everything comfort food should be. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, served over creamy mashed potatoes with fresh French green beans. We also ordered the Chef's seasonal Squash Casserole, and it was phenomenal. If it's on the menu when you visit, don't miss it. Milner's way exceeded our expectations: wonderful food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a memorable evening. We will absolutely make the trip back the next time we're in Winston-Salem.

I tried the Moravian cookie-pecan crusted salmon with collard greens, zucchini. The meal was a nice size and tasted amazing. I ate every bite. For dessert, we tried the White chocolate-almond bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. I'm usually not a bread pudding kinda girl, but this was the exception. About the food. Probably the BEST FRIED CHICKEN in the area. I really can't judge on that because I haven't sampled other fried chicken in the vicinity but based on my own research of sampling fried chicken all over North Carolina, I feel confident in my assumption. It was fried just right. It was SEASONED. It had a very nice batter that was crunchy and the chicken in the inside was tender and juicy. Every bite was tender and juicy. These ladies should teach a cooking class on how to make fried chicken-to other restaurants. The SWEET POTATOES were perfectly cooked and flavored in butter and cinnamon. You could eat it as a dessert. But not overly sweet. Just right. The GREENS were tender and seasoned perfectly. Greens and fried side with their delicious CORNBREAD could be a meal in itself. The roasted potatoes that are available only on Fridays were my favorite part of the platter. So flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The Mac n cheese was also very good. Creamy and cheesy. The hush puppies were HUGE and very crispy. Loved them. I ordered along with two coworkers. Coworker one is now in love with this place and wants to order at least once a week. Coworker two ordered meatloaf and said it was quite tasty. Negatives: Be prepared for the salt!!!!! We ordered from here twice. We got the chicken pie both times and it was wayyyyy to salty. The first order I was able to combine with the potatoes and Mac n cheese to make it edible. But the second order, all the sides were salty too and I ended up not being able to finish most of the plate. It was also disappointing because I'd ordered chicken tenders but received the chicken pie instead. While I'm wary of ordering in the future because the food is salty, my coworker loves it and we'll order again. The chicken itself was excellent. It was incredibly juicy, perfectly fried, and had a great crispy coating. My only issue was that the breading felt like it was missing a little something, maybe more seasoning, pepper, or some extra flavor. Growing up with places like Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis and Nashville hot chicken, I think I naturally expect a little more punch from the chicken itself. The sauce they serve is more of a barbecue style sauce, and while it worked, I personally didn't love it enough for it to carry all the flavor. The sides were a mixed bag. The collard greens were really good and definitely one of the highlights. The coleslaw, though, was way too pepper heavy for my taste. Also, the piece of bread that comes with the meal was honestly not worth the calories. I'd rather see them either upgrade the bread or skip it altogether. One unexpected highlight was the pebble ice from the drink machine. Small detail, but it was awesome and definitely appreciated. Overall, I'd come back and try some different sides because the chicken itself is worth returning for. With a little more seasoning or some different sauce options, I could see this being a 5 star spot.
