Yall. I dream about these sweet potato pancakes. As someone who doesn't typically go for sweet treats at breakfast I was shocked when someone at our table ordered these & I finished them! They're light, nutty, topped with delicious pecans and butter and overall a really nostalgic dish that I can't pass up when we visit. We also love their chorizo Benedict which is a smoky take on the classic Benedict most places serve. PS if there is a wait don't let that deter you, it moves quickly! read more

Good experience overall. Very crowded but front-of-house staff kept things moving well so that my husband and I only had to wait a few minutes for a table. Good, friendly service. Salmon Benedict was delicious. Hollandaise needed a little bit more flavor to it but held together. Reasonably priced and large portions. The ambience in the restaurant needs a little work. I really wish we had a breakfast place like this near where we live. There are a few places that call themselves breakfast and lunch diners but most of them are over priced and really bad quality. This place was packed and that was a good sign to us. The parking lot was small and there was guy outside directing people to other areas nearby where we could park. We were seated fast and served quickly. I had a great breakfast burrito and amazing house-made corned beef hash! Perhaps the best I've ever had even fro much ore expensive restaurants. Love this place, Servers and even the manager are so engaging and the Food so out of this world! Atmosphere was light and airy and patrons were sharing their opinions on their own entrées with others so great community feel. I don't think anyone eating around us regretted anything they received. My husband's repeat favorites have been the salmon eggs Benedict, and the Mediterranean specialty omelette. For me, it was the convenience of kid's menu and such a great variety specialty coffees and hot chocolate. And finally I was grateful for such reasonable prices and our lovely waitress, Ida who I will follow anywhere she goes. Good choice! read more

Just had one of the BEST brunch experiences ever at Miams Let me tell you... the French toast? Absolute perfection. Thick, fluffy, perfectly sweet, and somehow melts in your mouth with every bite. I'm still thinking about it. And don't even get me started on the chicken and waffles--crispy, juicy, golden goodness paired with waffles that hit that perfect balance of soft and slightly crisp. Ok, you all know I'm a breakfast freak so let me give you another secret gem. Imagine Stratford in Winston-Salem, there is a little diner on the side of the road. It's a small location and packed at the time we came, but overall the wait wasn't too bad. When we were notified, we were sat immediately. Waitress came over the get our drinks. We ordered the mimosa flight. It's not worth $12 because the glasses are so small, but good to try multiple flavors at once. Would just order a full glass of raspberry next time. The strawberry syrup didn't mix well, so that one didn't taste good. OJ is classic, and peach was room temp and didn't have a lot of peach flavor. Our entrees were pretty good. I ordered a custom omelette with biscuit and fruit. The fruit was ripe. The biscuit was good with blackberry jelly. And the omelette was delicious. The green peppers were fresh. Could've used a touch more cheese but that's only if I'm being picky. My fiancé ordered the combo of the day. Liked the pancakes (and they are huge), sausage wasn't very good so would want to try the chicken sausage instead, eggs good, and home fries tasty. Had a slight crunch, which was nice, and seasoned well. Overall, the music and vibes were fine. Again, it was crowded, but we could surprisingly hear each other and the music sometimes. This restaurant is simple amazing. Our server Victoria was nice, friendly and attentative. The food was picture perfect and arrived hot at the table. 10/10 for presentation, and taste. The setting was very laid back, I absolutely enjoyed the fact that the music was not loud it was set at the right volume where you can hear your own conversation. This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and it definitely won't be my last! I really enjoyed both the breakfast and lunch menus, lots of great options. If you're planning to go with a group, this is a nice spot for about 4 or 5 people. It's not a huge space, but the service and food make up for it, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking can be a bit tight, but they had someone outside helping guide you where to park not sure if they do that everyday,, but it was really helpful. I had the biscuits and gravy, and the gravy tasted fresh and flavorful, with great sausage too and over medium eggs, the house potatoes were soo good. We went here for lunch and I was very impressed! The chicken Cesar wrap was huge and perfectly toasted and the fruit really was fresh, the strawberries were very sweet. This is a busy little place! We were greeted as soon as we entered by friendly staff. Breakfast was really good, the French toast was the best I have had in a long time!!! The eggs were fresh and hot. The sausage was not the frozen patties everyone else serves. You can tell that they want a clean restaurant and that's nice too. There are 2 things I need to mention for their sake: 1. Please do not spray Windex while people are eating, the ammonia smell is too strong. 2. Your bathroom faucet water is too hot! A small child could burn themselves. I am still rating this restaurant 5 stars, the windex was because someone put dirty hands on the window and it doesn't feel right to count off for an employee caring. The bathroom water being so hot is probably an oversight and definitely not intentional. The staff is really nice! read more

This former Cagneys location was our favorite because of the cool shredded hash browns. I was hoping they would still have them and they do! The menu is full of delicious and some really unique options. I absolutely love that when a restaurant isn't afraid to veer off the path of the usual offerings to bring something truly special to guests. The service is just as friendly as ever. We always get attentive service and the food is always fresh and hot. The Monte Cristo has become a favorite. Not many places make it the correct way with battering and deep frying the whole sandwich. It's delicious and my only wish is that it had a bit more meat and cheese on it. The ambiance is super casual so no need to worry there. It's a breakfast place after all. I recently went and tried lunch there and they have some really good burgers and sandwiches. My mom got the Avocado Burger and I got a Philly cheesesteak. The burger was huge and served super hot and fresh alongside the super hot and crispy fries. The cheesesteak was equally hot and fresh with melty white provolone (or was it mozzarella?) that gave me a perfect cheese pull at the first bite. The create your own omelet was good but needed some salt, however I would rather add than it have too much).The waitress was great and attentive and someone from management also checked on us. The restaurant was very busy with customers (a good sign), but the parking lot is on the small side. Driving behind the building is the only way to exit the lot or get to the other side of the parking lot. We drove up behind another customer who ended up getting help with navigation between parked cars at the back right corner. Personally I think one spot on the corner should be eliminated. read more

I was impressed by my visit to Miam's. The small, unassuming restaurant is clean inside with friendly and quick service, and they offer up some unique offerings! I would recommend the goat cheese pesto grits especially! That came out perfect temperature and texture with awesome flavor! The chorizo Benedict worked out well too, but the eggs and fries on the breakfast plate were pretty mid. The blueberry hush puppies reminded me of a dish you'd get at a fair. I was looking for a new place to have breakfast and upon perusing the menu, the idea of goat cheese and pesto grits got me really excited. And I was so right to come here! The goat cheese and pesto grits were a huge portion for $3.50 and incredibly delicious. I also had the crab cake Benedict, which also has fried green tomato on it. This was also very delicious and well made. The home fries that came with it were fine but skippable. Highly recommend this sweet little place for a try! If you like breakfast, I would try Miam. They have a nice extensive menu, along with specialty coffees. We arrived before 9:00 am and It gets crowded, we waited for 20 minutes but it was really worth the wait. Parking is very murky, very tight spaces and are limited. I got the breakfast burrito (I never order these but our server said it was good). I always ask if they recommend something, I usually give it a try. This was a great choice. If you like omelets get one these a not flat like most restaurants but fluffy. It forgot to take pictures but I promise if you like breakfast this is a great place to go. read more

I wish I could say this was a pleasant experience but unfortunately I can not. Ok the coffee was good. Service: The waitress seem more happy with not having to write anything down then service. Food: The hashbrown were like those dried potatoes string you get in a can. Cold, dry and absolutely no flavor. The biscuit foe the sandwich was so dry you could have choked on it. We stopped here last minute on a Saturday morning around 10:30 AM. The place was busy, but there was only two of us so we got sent right away. Our waitress was very attentive. We got a mimosa pitcher $20, which was delicious. It was the perfect ratio. I forgot the name of my plate, but it was a classic combo of hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, and French toast. Everything was delicious. The French toast was amazing. My husband got a skillet. The food is delicious, the portions are big and the prices are reasonable. We will be returning. Apparently, I'm addicted to Miam and I'm dragging friends with me! I went with one friend on 11/7 and another friend on 11/12. We were sitting there making plans for December and my friend said she wanted to come back to Miam. Fine with me! So far I've had the Blueberry Muffin & Egg Plate with my choices of over medium eggs, grits, bacon and the blueberry muffin. I mistakenly added a biscuit but it only added $1.25, it was split and grilled and really...is there such a thing as too much bread? That's a rhetorical question because it's a resounding NO. That blueberry muffin was pure mouth joy! It was tender had juicy blueberries a sugared top then split top to bottom and griddled. I mean come on! It didn't even need butter! Now, about the grits because I'm very picky about my grits. I usually have to add butter and then salt, eat a layer, more butter and salt and repeat. Not at Miam. They are were so creamy and perfectly buttered and salted before they came to the table. Use a spoon because you won't want to leave any. My friend got the Delicious Scramble and said it was aptly named. My next visit I got the Combo of the Day. That name sounds like a special but it's a regular menu item. My choices were two scrambled eggs, those heavenly grits, the house-made chicken sausage (like kielbasa and totally worth the $2 up charge) and french toast. I was expecting one piece of french toast made with standard white bread. Nope! TWO pieces of Challah, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with real butter, a dusting of powdered sugar and a side of warm syrup. It was FANTASTIC! My friend got the Bananas Foster French Toast and said it was wonderful! All Staff are friendly and the table service has been excellent, coffee and water refills were steady. Parking was a little tricky but you can go to the building next door and park there if it is full. The building was a little bit noisy but nothing too crazy! Service was incredibly quick! We love breakfast places, and while this one is ok, it will not make our favorites list. The service was friendly, and the food was just ok. There were several things that stand out: Hash browns are my favorite breakfast side. There is nothing like shredded potatoes, properly seasoned, and browned on a griddle. I make them at home all the time, and order them in restaurants. However, at Miam, they cook them in the deep frier! It makes them really crispy (which I don't mind), but they are not hashbrowns. I I asked the server about them and she said they shred their own potatoes daily, and deep fry them because it is easier. Well, I'm sorry, what is easier than plopping them on a griddle with some butter, and flipping them. These were NOT GOOD! I like my eggs over easy -- I want that creamy yolk to run when I cut the egg, and I like to sop it up with a piece or toast. One of my eggs was just right, but the other was a touch overdone - more like over well. That kind of inconsistency is inexcusable. The bacon was thicker than most, and cooked properly; although a bit tough is places. My guess is the cook a lot first thing in the morning and it sits in a warmer through the day. I had two pancakes (which is pretty standard for me). They were cooked properly, but just like the bacon, a little tough. Its like the beat the batter too much. Carolyn had a biscuit which was ok. Pricing was a tad higher than some better places we have been. Breakfast for two with coffee and a diet Pepsi came to a little over $26 plus tip. Our server was friendly and attentive. The kitchen was a bit slower than we are accustomed to. I guess OK is the operative word for this place. We didn't hate it, and will likely never return. Too bad. Really hard to screw up hashbrowns, but they managed! Too many good breakfast places in Winston-Salem. This one missed the list. read more

We used to come here with some regularity when it was part of the Cagney's Kitchen family. We always liked it because they served breakfast or lunch all day, not specific hours for each. We've been looking forward to coming here since they became Miam a few months ago. However, every time we drove by the parking lot was packed. Today was the day, we timed it right and arrived to see a few parking spots open. We walked in and were immediately greeted and taken to a small booth and provided menus. The interior has been lightly refreshed since Cagney's but overall it has the same general feel. The menu offers a nice selection of breakfast and lunch options and we also noticed several gluten free options. The server came by and took our drink orders and was friendly and helpful. We told her we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. My wife decided on the Chef's Special omelet with fresh fruit and a biscuit. I decided on the Classic Cheese burger with bacon and fries. We thought the prices were very reasonable. I was sitting in such a way that I could see people arriving and the line to be seated continued to grow. Our food arrived quickly and looked really good. My wife appreciated the fresh blueberries, bananas and strawberries rather than the basic melon that many places offer. She said her omelet was really yummy and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. She also really enjoyed the biscuit which was served sliced with a nice amount of butter. My burger hit the spot and the fries were tasty as well. Overall, this was a great stop and we would highly recommend to others. We look forward to stopping in again soon. read more

We were told they hurt opened at the end of October. It's a small but quaint little restaurant. Bathrooms are super small but clean. Wait staff were great to help each other out. My husband and I ordered the red white and blue French toast which was delicious. We both ordered floppy bacon but it came out crispy. No big deal. My daughter ordered a made to order omelet which was coked perfectly. Our bill was a bit on the pricey side. $60 for the three of us but the quality and quantity of food we received was good. The place wasn't huge and had relatively generic decor but it was fitting for the food. The waitress was friendly and very timely with refills and anything we needed. The food was very good. The biscuit was hot and the egg was cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were hot as well. The gravy was good but not something I would go out of my way to try again.
