As I was going to the Petty Museum I knew I wanted to stop at the place Richard and Kyle Petty had gone to in Kyle's show on Circle TV. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Restaurant was clean. The food is great and home cooked. Love the small diner atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the old crotchety waitress who is rude and doesn't speak to you. She rolls her eyes when you try to ask for something or give her your order, talks bad about other customers children to you, and if you have kids with you she refuses to take your table and the other younger waitress who's fabulous picks up her slack. We eat here often and as long as we have the younger waitress have a great experience. It is cash only but they have a small atm inside if you need to use it! read more

Rather plain, worn little diner in the small community of Level Cross, offering breakfast and lunch 6 days a week. We stopped in to try a Cheeseburger, Hot Dog, Tater Tots, and Onion Rings. The Hot Dog was excellent, with a nice meaty, house made chili, and the diner style cheeseburger was also very, very good. The Taters Tots were excellent, cooked nice and crispy, with plenty of real potato taste. The Onion Rings were the only disappointment, over cooked, with little onion taste. Very, very nice and friendly people here. They offer Chip Beef Gravy over fresh made Biscuits on Sat mornings - gotta try them. read more

I have eaten from both the menu and the daily special and I was very pleased. A friend of mine said it was the best hotdog he had eaten in a long time. The service is great and people are friendly. Good food. Good folks. I noticed Frank & Larry's restaurant one day and decided to stop in for breakfast. Am I ever glad I did! Growing up in the southern countryside, I know what a good southern breakfast is supposed to taste like and Frank & Larry's has got it going on. Among the usual yummy breakfast options of meats, eggs, pancakes, etc., they have delicious sausage gravy. And on Saturdays, they have chipped beef gravy, but you better get there early for that one because it sells out fast! Hamburgers & hot dogs with all the fixings, french fries, tater tots, onion rings and more - always good. PLUS, they have lunch plate options of a meat, a couple of country vegetables, & bread that is also good. Dessert options too! Salmon patties on Wednesdays! The staff is ALWAYS friendly and attentive. I'm a regular there now and they bring me my tea when I come in. It's nice going to a place where "everybody knows your name." I've never seen the restaurant dirty and their health grade is super high! I see them carefully cleaning and tidying between customers of course, and they recently updated the interior. After reading the good reviews and going 30 minutes out of my way to eat here, i was a little disappointed when my food came on a plastic plate, along with plastic utensils. I really don't like being served on throwaway. But this is the real deal - eggs perfectly cooked - grits sturdy enough to eat with a fork, even a plastic one - and a terrific slice of spicy patty sausage. The exterior of this establishment screams, "dive", so naturally I went in. I had to stand there awkwardly for several moments while one of the waitresses glared at me several times, until finally a patron, who I take to be a regular, took mercy upon me and said, "You look like you ain't never been here before. Just sit wherever you want." A different waitress came to take my order and she was very sweet and helpful. As for the food, the cheeseburger was good, but a little dry, the bun was a little soggy from the slaw and the chili was very bland. The onion ring batter was superb, but the onion was a little thin.
