    Custom pizza

The lady was so rude, the only reason it gets 3 stars is because the pizza was actually pretty good. HOWEVER. Mamacita was rude. I placed the order early in the evening and the website says they don't close until 8. But for some reason the lady was very short with me and saying they close earlier than 8 and implying it was inconvenient for her, but maybe she could squeeze another order in. She kept cutting me off while I was ordering and acting like I was wasting her time! Then she said she could only make an extra large because she "ran out of mediums and larges." LADY. YOU MAKE THE DOUGH AND THE SIZE BY HAND. What does she mean she ran out of larges??? I think she just wanted to make more money off of us tbh but we didn't care. Then she said the order would be ready in 40 mins and to "make sure to be on time." 30 mins later she calls us and says, "Um, where are you? I have been waiting for you to pick up your order so that I can close up" as if it's my fault. Terrible customer service, good food. ‍

Honestly one of the best pizzas I've had. Stands up to some of my favorite pies from New York and New Jersey. And yes, they (still) require you to wear a mask, even just ordering through a window from the outside. Deal with it, the pizza's well worth the incredibly minor inconvenience I highly recommend taking your pie next door to Los Caminos, to enjoy with a cold beer or two.

    The Roadrunner.

I just had one of the best meals. I had a Roadrunner piazza which was pepperoni and green Chilli. I had a Caesar salad and bread sticks. Just wonderful. The proprietor, Mamacita , does everything. Cooks, takes orders, delivers the food to the outside picnic tables. She is not a warm and fuzzy person , just a ruthless perfectionist cook. The eating area is ringed with signs encouraging normal behavior. Also she requires people ordering at her window to wear a mask. Apparently this sets some people off. Go for the piazza. Sit and enjoy, gazing at the blue sky. Enjoy food prepared with high standards and care, served hot by a woman who expects people to stay off her tables, control their pets and children and not swear at each other. What a deal!

The lamb tartare was expertly prepared, and perfectly complimented with housemade potato chips (seasoned, very crispy, and the right amount of vinegar). The ratatouille was phenomenal; very flavorful (both the veggies & sauce), perfectly cooked veggies, and some crispy kale. The steak tenderloin stew was excellent, and I appreciated that the Christmas chile sauce was on the side so you could add it to taste. The meat was tender, the stew had a good flavor to it, and the chile sauce brought it to another level. My girlfriend loved the green chile pineapple sorbet. It had a lite chile flavor, and wasn't too sweet. The orange blossom tres leche cake was outstanding, with the cake and meringue cooked to perfection (both with great consistency), and the lowkey orange blossom flavor complimenting things very nicely. We ate at the bar, Ben the bartender was a great server. His notes on the dishes were informative and accurate, and he also recommended some places in and around Santa Fe for us to checkout... I've been hearing about Joseph's for some time, and on my most recent visit to Santa Fe finally visited for dinner. It was the meal of the trip. The restaurant itself has a charming neighborhoody feel with several rooms, wood beams, local art, and adequate spacing between tables (one of my pet peeves is the lack of privacy caused by tables too close together.) The food. Oh my. Food should not bring me this much pleasure... It's an award winner, so call ahead.

When I made the reservation I asked for the opinion of the woman I was talking to about indoors vs outdoors and she said she loves their dining room so I went with inside and I'm glad I did. Cute little vases with flowers in each table not over done and very homey and classy. We ordered a cocktail and some appetizers including the blue cornbread. The cocktails were interesting and fresh. For dinner I had the best sea trout EVER! It was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and full of flavor. I would get this weekly if I lived there. My husband ordered the tamale and it was a fresh twist on the New Mexican staple. Literally little celebrations in every bite! If we are back in Taos we will definitely return to Love Apple for it all: food, service and ambiance. Well done!

This was a must stop recommended by many people so we were happy to secure a reservation and dine there. Ambiance was nice, we enjoyed the warm lighting and how it was inside an old historic catholic church. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable as well. I will say- the food was decent but it was nothing extravagant or to write home about like others have mentioned in the past. A lot of items on the menu have like one or two ingredients that I feel throw the dish off, so it was difficult deciding what to get there. We ordered the cornbread, mussels, the trout and the bison when we went for dinner. By far my biggest complaint with the whole experience was the fact that it is a cash only establishment, with no ATM even available on the property. You have to drive beforehand to the closest Allsups and withdraw whatever you feel will be the most for the check plus gratuity. This really limits what you can/can't get on the menu depending on how much cash you bring. I personally do not enjoy feeling limited by that or having to do math at the table in my head to make sure I got enough to cover it all. This also makes people look at the menu beforehand maybe online to get a good idea before driving to said gas station. They say on the website it's because "By forgoing transaction fees, we can better support our employees, serve organic food, and boost our local economy." but in reality I believe it's because they do not want to pay credit card fees and whatnot. Their sister restaurant Manzanita (which we also dined at) was not cash only though which was odd if they are related, so something isn't lining up at The Love Apple. We still had the best time with each others company which matters the most celebrating a special occasion, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to tell everyone that they gotta go there when they are in Taos.

The restaurant was dimly lit, with large whiskey barrels tastefully scattered throughout the space. The ambiance felt dressy casual with a touch of farmhouse charm, complemented by a curated country music playlist serenading us throughout the evening. Since we had mentioned when making our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, both the hostess and our waiter greeted us with a warm "Happy Anniversary" and surprised us with two complimentary glasses of champagne. It was a very thoughtful touch and set the evening off to a great start. For drinks, I ordered the Buffalo Trace whiskey flight, while my wife chose a shrub, which is a sweet fruity cocktail with a hint of vinegar (like apple cider vinegar or kombucha). We both thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. To start, we ordered the corn chowder with bone marrow, which was such a unique and incredibly delicious experience for both of us. You scrape the bone marrow directly into the soup, adding richness to both the flavor and texture, which were already excellent. For our entree, we shared the ribeye steak with duck fat fingerling potatoes, and it was more than enough food for the two of us. The steak was cooked to perfection and, surprisingly, had very little fat. The duck fat potatoes were soft, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal. For dessert, we ordered the Kentucky butter cake and...oh my...the salted bourbon caramel was absolutely amazing!

My husband ordered the Guajillo Braised Boneless Short Ribs, which were cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.
