My boyfriend and I had a wonderful dinner at the Love Apple! It is super romantic inside and set in an old church. The service was great and we loved all the food. The beets on beets salad was one of our favorite meals we ate on our trip. We love beets! It was also cute that they put a little heart on our dessert. I would definitely go back to try some more things.

Taco was tasty but too greasy

Nice ambiance, but the food fell short. We chose this place as it was recommended by NM locals. The patio was nice, with fresh flowers and even privacy screens between some of the tables. I would give 5 stars to the ambiance. The food was just okay. The mixed greens in the salad were not fresh. I had to separate a few stale leaves. We all know this is quite common in mixed greens from a grocery bag, but I didn't expect to see it at a fancy restaurant like them. The mushroom appetizer and the taco main dish were both too greasy; see the spicy oil dripping from the food and pooling in the plate. Their wine list was super expensive, and most notable of all, this place is ALL CASH. So, for a table of four who orders wine, you'll need $300-400 in your pocket.

Great atmosphere and the food was artful. Staff is excellent. Many gluten-free choices. Overall, good for a night out.

Amazing all around. Lovely restaurant fantastic host and server team. We split the corn bread muffins with the delicious butters and split the beet salad. I had the gnocchi and the pesto was so flavorful as were the perfectly cooked gnocchi. My husband has the trout and loved every bite. Great wine list. I had a sparkling rose from Spain. So good. What a gem not far from downtown Taos. Very casual vibe.

Beautiful spot with friendly service. Very cool just to be in the restaurant. Food was good. We weren't blown away but we'd order differently next time. Definitely a spot to hit in Taos. (We liked their little sister, Manzanita Market even more! Perhaps better bang for your buck?)

Pinon dessert with housemade créme. Outstanding.

Outstanding dinner food for the two of us. Worth reading and following the rules for getting a reservation. FOOD: 5.0. Every dish was outstanding and exceeded high expectations. - TROUT PATÉ with FENNEL appetizer. - SEA BASS. My food-fussy partner declared it the best Sea Bass she has ever had. - DUCK BREAST. Yum! - PINON dessert with créme. So good, including the crust. The créme was clearly housemade. SERVICE: 5.0. Rigo did an excellent job, providing spot-on advice and exhibiting good timing. AMBIANCE: 4.5. We sat inside. It was pleasant, with perfect-low-volume background music inside older building. DRINKS: 4.5. We enjoyed our drinks. Standouts were the Pinot Noir (from S. America) and Muscatel.

The Love Apple is the perfect place for a date or a girls night out. My best friend and I happened to find this place while planning our recent vacation to New Mexico and this place was a must try! By some miracle we got a table due to a last minute cancellation and took full advantage of this delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by formal yet friendly staff. We enjoyed wine paired with a cheesy quesadilla to start. This quesadilla was filled with the finest cheeses and paired with an orange crème fraiche. For dinner we enjoyed seared duck breast and a fish. Everything was fresh and made with love. I highly recommend checking this place out while you're in town! Make sure to call ahead to book your reservation in advance!

The Love Apple is the perfect spot for a special night out. The restaurant is located in a former chapel known as La Capilla de Nuestra Senora de Dolores, Ranchos de Taos and as the Chapel at Placita de Taos. The structure was built in the 1800s and in operation for about 100 years. (Google "Church, Placita de Taos, New Mexico 1940" for a photo of the structure by Eliot Porter in the New Mexico Museum of Art.) Consistent with the restaurant's physical space's history, the courtyard and dining room have a lot of character and are beautifully decorated with unique touches and lots of attention to detail. During our visit on a weeknight in May, most of the indoor tables filled up shortly after opening. Service is friendly, professional and extremely efficient with multiple staff assisting each table. The dishes are creative and tasty. The seed- and nut-encrusted sea bass is my new favorite. Each course was prepared and delivered surprisingly quickly, yet without rushing the meal. A few tips to help your dinner go smoothly: The Love Apple's hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Love Apple accepts cash and checks only. If you are paying with a personal check, make sure that your phone number is included. Since The Love Apple is an intimate 13-table restaurant, reservations are recommended. To make a reservation, call the restaurant. Reservations are available in two-week blocks: the current Monday through Sunday week and the following Monday through Sunday week. If you leave a message, be sure to leave your name, the number of people in your party, the time(s) that you are interested in and a clear phone number. In a vacation week full of fun, memorable and new experiences, dinner at The Love Apple stands out as a highlight, a spot worth including in a visit if you are in northern New Mexico.

Food quality was excellent--we had the filet mignon and steak frites, both cooked perfectly, along with a nice local wine. Appetizers and desserts were just as strong. What a disappointment…read more I was so looking forward to trying this place since I've never been. However rather than it being a pleasant and memorable experience it turned out to be a total disaster, a nightmare. One we asked for a table they said it would be 15 mins when clearly there were two tables open which I was told were not reserved. So we proceeded to go to the bar. They had one chair available so I sat and proceeded to order a drink for myself and my friend which did not have a chair. In a very rude and obnoxious way the bartender said they cannot serve people who are standing. I said pull up a chair he said no. I said fine I will order one for myself and he will not. Again he said he can't serve people that are standing although I was sitting. So I went back the host which was as lost and ignorant as anyone can be. I requested to speak to a manager. She said she'd get one. No one came no one showed up but a woman looking very unprofessional in her attire. She just went to the stand and said nothing for 5 mins. She finally said "are you waiting for a table?" lol not hello I'm the manager how may I help. I explained the situation. She said we would still have to wait because the kitchen is behind. I said can we sit in one of the empty tables available she said no I said why she said because of the kitchen delay. I said I won't order food only a drink. I just want my friend to be able to enjoy one also so can we just sit? Finally after giving it much thought which seemed quite comical she said yes. We sat ourselves. The reason I explain this situation is simple. I do not want any tourists or people unfamiliar with this location to go through want we went through. Not only was it embarrassing but it was plain prejudice and extremely racist. Medley you have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. No understanding of the word courtesy and are clueless when handling a very simple situation. The shameful way of how you treated me and my friend is unacceptable. I don't know if it was because I was dark skinned or simply because it's that poorly run. But most certainly had to share this horrendous and disgusting experience I had at Medley. 0 Stars not recommended at all! And you all should be ashamed of yourselves for treating a new potential client in this manner. The blatant display of IGNORANCE shows how absolutely clueless you all really are. @aliciasnowwolf

She even gave us a heads up that she was also handling a 7-top table and made sure we could get our order in before theirs since it was just the two of us. Thought that was really thoughtful and great service. We started with the salsa, queso, guacamole, and a Caesar salad for appetizers and everything was delicious. A great way to kick off the meal. For the main course we both went with the steak fajitas. The steak was a little on the tough side, but overall still really good and heavily seasoned. The portion is generous too. One order could easily be split between two people. It comes with rice, beans, cheese, pico, and three tortillas. The restaurant itself is super charming. It's inside the historic Taos Inn and you can really feel the history in the space. The atmosphere alone makes the experience memorable.
