    Tamale Plate with Christmas.

Food was amazing! I had the tamale plate with the Christmas. Very very good! Everyone was very friendly with great service. Would definitely eat here again if passing through.

    Honey. Everywhere!!!!

Amazing food, amazing staff. I've never had a bad meal. I love the tacos, but also the steak, and the chips and salsa. The sopapillas are made with yeast and are spectacular. I ate two on the way home to Taos and arrived, dripping with honey, but absolutely content. I only wish we lived in Hernández.... Love you Ms. Socorro and your beautiful food!!!

    Combo plate heaven.

Very nice atmosphere and cool decor at Socorro's. I ordered the combo plate and it came with plenty to eat. Service was on point and the ladies are nice and attentive. I'm giving it two up and shall return when I'm in the area again. I'm glad they're around for business.

That kind of hospitality makes the whole meal feel elevated. I had Le Flor, a gorgeous pink gin and elderflower cocktail that was as lovely as it was refreshing. The mussels with green sauce and dipping bread were an absolute must-order -- we could have made a meal out of that alone. The mango gazpacho with honey drizzle was bright, unexpected, and delicious. We also loved the chicken thigh skewers, which were flavorful and tender without being fatty, served with a beautiful yogurt smudge on the plate. The grilled eggplant with capers and manchego was another favorite, and the jamón croquettes were crisp, savory perfection. Creative food, thoughtful service, and a warm Santa Fe atmosphere. We ordered flights of white and none of them were cold enough. I understand if they had been reds, but on a hot summer day, one just craves a cold glass of wine and/or bubbly. Once we were done tasting our wines and the food arrived, we had to ask a couple of times/people to remove the large glasses and apparatus they rested in from our table since there wasn't room for everything. The hummus and pita with hot honey and feta was pretty good, and our son loved his pasta dish from the kids menu, but that was the extent of the magic here. The paninis the rest of our party ordered were again, just ok. When I went to the restroom I was appalled. There was some really gross stuff sticking to the wall next to the toilet; I couldn't tell if it was barf or poop, but it really turned me off. Good thing we were already on our way out. The atmosphere is kind of a New Orleans vibe with a high ceiling and covered terrace upstairs with plants that you can see from the downstairs area. That was nice. The day before when I was walking around the Plaza, they had a big carafe of fruit-infused ice water outside the restaurant with plastic cups for people to help themselves to, and it was super refreshing. That was the best thing about this place.

Meeting the chef made the evening even more special! Hmmm...food was not as impressive as the first time. This…read morewas our second time at Sazon--my partner brought me here for a surprise birthday dinner. The atmosphere is upscale and beautiful--love the decor and artwork. The service was on point; our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food this time was just ok, except for the Sopa de Amor: Chef Olea's signature soup--that was heaven in our mouths. The steak (Popocatepetl: spicy black pepper crusted aged angus beef tenderloin / red cabbage and snow peas in cilantro vinaigrette / jasmine rice) we shared looked nothing like the description. Either our server was clueless regarding gluten-free, because this wasn't up to our standards for a high-end restaurant--the flavor wasn't the same as we remembered from several years ago, and the steak (medium rare) inside was colder--not room temperature, so I ended up not eating all of mine. Plus we had to ask for rice--which should have come with our meal since there isn't flour or any ingredients that would have made this harmful to me. Also, the side of asparagus it came with wasn't bright green and crispy--it was yellowish and flimsy-looking and tasting. For the price, this should have been more on point than what it was. We had split a steak, shared a soup, had a bottle of wine, two glasses of champagne, and a dessert--oh, and a $12 split change (something they suggested--even though my partner and I were fine eating from the same plate)...the bill was almost $400 with tax & tip. The dessert however, was presented beautifully with mixed berries and a liquor which was then lit on fire--a festive dessert option since I have a gluten allergy. There are so many wonderful restaurants. Unfortunately, the food did not leave us craving to come back for more. If the service and decor wasn't so impressive, Sazon would have received one stars.

For a drink I had the fresh tamarind which was lightly sweetened and refreshing. The lamb was mild and benefited from a touch of salt, according to my companion.
