    Quiche Lorraine
    Marty T.

Their omelettes are light and if you feel like getting a dessert for breakfast there's no one to stop you. Their drip coffee is amazing and there's no reason to not splurge on the large. The quiche Lorraine was lovely and comes with a crust that reminded me of a basque cheesecake. The Nutella beignet was a bit too rich but delicious.

Maman was packed with people but the line moved forward smoothly. The breakfast foods were tempting my nostrils. All of the pastries looked good. The cashier helped me decide which type of matcha was best for my desired taste. I ordered the special a banana pudding Iatte matcha and my friend ordered the coffee one. We were pleasantly pleased. I found a table after a short wait and our drinks came out relatively quickly.

Maman is always consistently good! It's usually my go to when I can't think of where else to go. There are lots of tables so it's solid work spot, although outlets are a bit limited. You'll find most of them upstairs and at the front by the windows. Today I got the new special banana matcha latte and honestly didn't like it.. it tasted like artificial banana, similar to a laffy taffy. I asked to switch to a matcha lemonade after a couple sips and the staff was super friendly and got me a new drink free of charge. Smashed avocado tartine is always a staple!! Will be coming back

Beautiful interior, kind staff, and the coffee was amazing!! The honey lavender latte was delicious & I also loved the cheddar scallion scone.

Felt like stepping into the French Riviera at this location of Maman! Bustling with families, couples, and old friends meeting up. Really nice place to come on a weekend. The pastries were great -- highly recommend the almond chocolate croissant and banana loaf. Barista was super quick and lattes were great too. Friendly staff that moved quickly.

We've come here several times and we're always pleased with our order. Today, we had the absolute pleasure of chatting up with Piola behind the register. You ever ask the waitress or cashier what's their fav things on the menu and you can tell that their response might be based on just upselling or moving you right along? This was NOT that. Our girl pointed out several items that she liked to get AND helped us customize each item--eg I like to get the sauce on the side, add chicken, add potatoes. It was honestly such a good interaction to start off our day and breakfast meal together. We cleared our plates, left no crumbs--ok wait I lied, I didn't finish the second half of my wrap and took it home lol. But you get the picture! Service great, food and bevs even better.

Beautiful interior with hints of floral above our heads. Amazing handcrafted drinks whether it's a simple hot chocolate or a spiked chocolate martini! Provide a handful of different pastries to choose from along with seating of your choice where they will then bring anything you've ordered, to your table with comfort. This place was so unbelievably cute, definitely come here for a small catch-up or an afternoon coffee.

My first experience with this chain didn't go especially well, but I found an occasion to try a new location for them in the increasingly crowded Union Market district. It is separate from the major food halls and has its own two-level space. The baked goods looked appealing and I did succumb to a banana bread with walnuts and dark chocolate chips, but what I came for was a salad. Their hummus salad had marinated carrots and in general a mild set of sweet, savory, and sour flavors. They describe it as Morrocan, and the restaurant as a whole is somewhat French-inflected, so I was happy to find something that was labeled and was vegan and gluten free, which can be a challenge for this sort of cuisine. It's an upscale place with an upscale price. The service I received was on the front end a bit disaffected and on the back end confused; despite having a table number someone apparently struggled to get that I was seated at one of their outdoor tables. But there is some quality to be found here and it's a different flavor than in the other options in this area.

I frequent this maman whenever I want a chill place to enjoy a drink, like the matcha latte, or some pastries. Although I order a la carte usually, my latest visit was a TooGoodToGo pick up. For 6.59, I got the three pastries (attached photo) near their closing time. Luckily, these were the three pastries that I wanted! Super lucky. They all tasted fine despite the late pick up time, and glad I did the experience. Whenever I go to Maman, including this latest visit, the service was quick and friendly. The employees make sure I have a positive visit and the place keeps on drawing me back. This Maman fits well in this area, and I'm glad this Maman is accessible whenever I crave a sweet treat.

This is one of the cutest cafes I've been to and I see why it's packed. I hesitantly ordered the salted tahini latte (trying something new) and the waffles and bacon. I'm so glad the risk paid off. The seeds are not needed but still a good latte. I was also pleasantly surprised with the waffle topped with guava jam. I originally asked for it on the side but it was served on top. It was sooo good! I'm glad when these kind of mistakes happen. I'm a sucker for the hanging plants so decor was an added bonus!

The cutest cafe! Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed, which makes sense considering how much space they have. We were able to snag a table upstairs which would make a great remote work location if you find an outlet. My sandwich was lacking flavor, maybe more sauce would've helped. But enjoyed the coffee and mimosa. Would definitely come back to try some pastries.

I didn't expect to enjoy this place as much as I did. I've always wondered what their food was like, so I popped in for a quick breakfast date before yoga with flow well yoga. I was so impressed. The food, itself, was delicious. It was a little bit busy on a Sunday morning, but we were still able to find seats and the service moved pretty quickly. I also ordered an iced chai and a chocolate chip cookie with nuts. The chai was fine, but not my favorite. However, everything else was absolutely great. I didn't eat the entire bowl there and then, but I ate it it the next day and it was still just as good. For one drink, two bowls, and the cookie, we spent just over $50. But honestly, the bowls were pretty big and overall, I would say it was worth it. It's a very cute café vibe. Cute and casual. You can roll in with sweatpants or a cute little dress and honestly fit right in. I can't wait to come back and try something else.

This is such a cute little spot to meet with friends and chat! We had the lavender hot chocolate and it was life changing! Soooooo goood! The staff was nice and constantly cleaning and helping.

I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. Unfortunately, the location in DC has permanently closed and we were still very much in the mood for some pastries... my cousin who is French has previously sang the praises of this Lil French pastry shop, so of course I had to give it a try. I am so happy that I did because I truly believe that I have stumbled upon my new favorite pastry shop in the area! Upon walking in the smell of croissants and almonds and sweet, sweet delicacies filled my nostrils. I basically became the human version of Remy from ratatouille inhaling a delicious bouillabaisse simmering on the stove top for hours....seeing colors and flavors so bright and intoxicating I simply had to have it I walked in and my eyes were instantly attracted to so many delicious options from classics like Palmiers and Napoleons to some unique flavor combos I've never tried before combined like raspberry and pistachio. Of course, I decided to grab a little bit of everything to make an accurate assessment as a YELP Elite should!! My favorite hands-down was the Berry Millefuille. The way the pastry crumbled in my mouth with every bite, combined with the tart, fresh raspberries, and thick flavorful custard.... Was worth every penny. Honorable mentions go to the peach rosemary tart, which was so unique with the added botanical of rosemary with some fresh sweet peach slices on top and a very crunchy tart base. We all enjoyed everything we purchased! I also ordered one of their seasonal specialties, the rosemary latte with skim milk and iced. The flavors were so uniquely crafted to where you could taste everything but everything combined together for the perfect sip. The ladies who greeted us at the cash register were so patient, so kind, and so understanding of my excitement and difficulty deciding and they even helped me add on a little chocolate happy birthday rectangle to the pastry I purchased for my husband! Without a doubt, this is only the first of the many times I will visit the establishment. It was so authentic, so delicious and passed all the vibe checks even from the French side of the family. I was told I have to return when they first open to have a fresh croissant and a fresh baguette that is on par with what you would have in Paris. Even the items in the fridge were made in France and were delicious fruit nectars that were very unique- we purchased a passionfruit nectar that didn't even make it past the doors before we had completely inhaled it and purchased a lychee nectar for later. I am so excited to have learned about this establishment and believe me when I say you must run, not walk, to experience it for yourself. I ordered a house latte with an extra double shot, which made it a quad shot, and I also paid for extra ice and requested that it be served in a large cup. It wasn't a complicated order. When I saw a drink come up, I politely asked, "Is that mine by any chance?" The barista immediately told me to "hush" and said, "I'm not talking to you." I found that incredibly disrespectful and completely unacceptable. When my drink was finally handed to me, I simply asked if the quad shot had been added since I had paid extra for it. Instead of answering my question, the barista ignored me entirely, and another employee had to respond. The employee, Taleisha Young, who was wearing glasses, was especially rude throughout the interaction. No customer should be spoken to that way, especially when they're simply asking about an order they paid extra to customize. Customer service and professionalism should be a priority, and this experience fell far below that standard. Unfortunately, I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience on other review platforms as well. I hope management addresses the behavior of its staff so other customers don't have a similar experience.
