I have been going to Mamas for almost my entire life. Grew up in this town and remember the place from way back when it was a small pizza shop. The food is good. The service is terrible. Its always great to see small businesses grow. However, this establishment has forgotten the reason why they are successful. Your food can be great and the restaurant gorgeous. However, with out the customers, you have nothing. I usually order for pick up and the guys at the pizza counter are extremely rude. They see you as just another few dollars walking in. I had my credit card thrown back at me today, told to get on line to pick up an order I placed over the phone, and was not even given the slightest thank you for ordering. The sad part is, this is mot the first time. There are many other places in the area with great food and at the very least decent service. Thank you Mamas for the memories growing up. As an adult though, Id rather spend my hard earned money where I get a Thank you are the VERY LEAST. read more

This Father's Day June 2019 I decided to take my son out to dinner for Father's Day, I bragged to him about Mamas how great was the food ,I have been there 4/5 times the food was really good n nice portions , while I understand during holidays n special events the Restsurant it's real busy there's casualties here there , however I ordered the shrimp scampi, normally it's delicious nice size shrimp with a side dish of pasta . They butterfly the shrimp first grilled n then add the sauce , this time I got big shrimps not butterflied they looked like frozen precooked shrimps had no flavor , that were tossed in the scampi sauce sitting on top of the pasta witch usually comes separate plate , same thing fir my sons dish everything in one plate .i was very disappointed. read more

Best Sicilian pizza around. Everything else is just ok. Several times I have eaten here, and the food is bland. Most recently, I ordered the penne ala vodka with meat and extra sauce. I had to add so much Parmesan cheese to add flavor that it soaked up all of the sauce. Buffalo chicken pizza is chock full of chicken and cheese, but the sauce is not spicy, and extremely oily. Their side salads however, are so fresh and crisp, top it with their balsamic dressing, and you will not be disappointed. read more

Great food and atmosphere, staff are very friendly and accomodating. Garlic knots galore and sometimes even walk around with free samples of pizza! the chicken cordon bleu is probably my favorite dish and the chicken executive is delicious too! Went in at 430 on Sunday to try pesto shrimp slice and ravioli slice. Unfortunately they were out, but the staff made them to order. The ravioli slice is very good. A vodka like sauce with peas and ground sausage cover cheese ravioli. Amazing! The pesto shrimp slice (see pic) is breaded shrimp with mozzarella and a pesto/red sauce mixture. Attention Mama's owners. I would like to start this off by saying that without GREG I wouldn't have had an experience that I did. He is the the most genuine person I've ever met. He really works hard and for the first time meeting Greg I couldn't have asked for a better waiter. He's the reason I will come back and really made my Christmas lunch amazing. Greg took control of all his tables was super attentive to everyone and never left a glass empty and made the food even taste better just by being who he is. I grew up on Mama's, it has been my family's go to Italian spot for over 25 years. A restaurant that would make you feel like you were home, is no longer the same. I am also a job coach for adults with developmental disabilities at the CVS next door, and every week we grab a slice of pizza at mamas after work. I have more patience than most and never complain unless I am truly upset. Now I know we are in the middle of a pandemic and times are hard, but I don't believe that is an excuse for rude service. Many businesses have adjusted to the hardships, and are rising above the challenges. My experience yesterday at mamas seemed as if they were using the pandemic as an excuse to be rude and nasty to customers. Yes, it was Mother's Day and I'm sure they were stressed, but there were no updates on their website, Facebook or instagram accounts about how they would be conducting orders. I tried to place an order on Friday over the phone and was told it was too early. I tried to call back Sunday morning, and later found out they took their phones of the hook. When I went in to order at 1pm, I was told I was too late and if I wanted food I needed to order it now and pick it up now. Well that was my only option so I went with it. 20 minutes later my food was ready. I saw there were garlic knots wrapped up in what looked like used aluminum foil, meanwhile I paid for garlic knots that were in a tin. When I asked about this the man behind the counter said to me "if you come here all the time you should know the dinners come with garlic knots." I did not know if that was the same with takeout orders, and tried to explain that to him. Next thing I know I have three men yelling and mocking me from behind the counter, saying I don't understand how a restaurant works and that due to the fact they are only doing take out orders things are hard on them. I'm sorry but I have been to multiple other establishments that are going above and beyond. I've seen plexiglass over counters, hand sanitizers for customers to use, clear and concise directions and updates on social media. None of which mamas had. There were arrows on the floor, yet customers were still confused and not following the directions due to the lack of organization the restaurant and their staff had. It seemed everyone had an attitude and that they didn't want to be working. When I brought my food home, one of the containers wasn't sealed properly and leaked all over. My cheesecake was put in the bag upside down, and the penne alla vodka which is usually my favorite, was so dry with barely any sauce on it. Mamas is no longer the only good Italian restaurant in the area. They need to remember it's not all about money, and go back to their roots when they were a little hometown restaurant in a shopping center that truly cared about their customers. It's sad to see other reviews saying the same. I would have probably turned a blind eye to the disappointment I had in the food and chalked that up to it being Mother's Day during a pandemic, but because of how I was spoken to and how I was treated I felt I needed to leave a review for others to see. Live in the area so safe to say I go here every now and then at least sadly my two last experiences haven't been the best to start my *rant* they seem to be selective with there sitting me & my fiancé seen three couples that came in after us get seated before us but your busy I understand it but the past few times I've been there the waiting staff has been for lack of a better word RUDE yet expect an outstanding tip at the end of the night. Other issue is they have a chicken night on Thursday & pasta night Monday for a decent price point salad knots entree cake one issue is that they sacrifice quality for price from the knots to the sauce but all that can be overlooked until you meet the owner !! First time here, will not be my last ! I ordered " Chicken Christoforo " ( Parmesan crusted Chicken, layered with Eggplant and fresh Mozzarella , in a wonderful pink cream sauce ). A huge portion served over penne, and our waiter Manny sees my eyes widen, smiles and says " Only one person has ever eaten the whole plate". Well, make that 2 now ! I hadn't been there in a few years and was shocked to see how bad it was. The Veal Saltimboca was dry smothered in an oversweet sauce. The pasta used to be served on the side but now was swimming underneath the sauce. Calamari was frozen, used to be fresh. and my pasta in olive oil and garlic was tasteless. I absolutely love this place it is a bit pricey but worth every penny. The staff is very friendly and the owner she's amazing and nice. I recommend this place to everyone. The tortellini soups is everything, chopped salad with chicken is amazing, multiple choices of pizza which I've tried most are great. Restaurant is family oriented or good for a date. This place is so good!! We originally were driving to Brownstones for lunch to find they were closed Down! Not being from the area we just started driving and saw this place in a strip mall. This is the ultimate spot for good eats - giant portions that you can get three meals out of. The overstuffed baked clams are amazing. I tell myself to try and get a new entree every time since it isn't a place we visit often, but I usually get the same few things. Among my favorite dishes are: Whole Wheat Penne Rustica, Chicken Scarpariello, and Chicken Portofino. The unlimited garlic knots are amazing! I do recommend getting the house dressing on the salad. Went here on a Friday night and wasn't busy so sat right away and got an app and two pastas. The app mozzarella and corozza witch was amazing, then I got the Regina pasta In a cream sauce. Wow amazing rich flavor and fresh! Taste was spot on and seasoning. Also they brought it in time gaps so we weren't rushed and had time to digest. Service was good. Omg I almost forgot the garlic knots are to die for hot and fresh. A Lil expensive this place is and big portions so I suggest splitting.
