The food tastes good; flavorful and fresh. But the prices seem high for what you get and for what you don't get... We ordered a Falafel and a Greek salad. My wife wanted chicken added to her salad and the counter person said that they could accommodate the request. The Falafel was good but it had too much tomato in it and it was so wet that it basically fell apart after my first bite. I needed a fork to finish it. The pita is more of a thin wrap rather than a pocket. The Greek Salad was good but pricey for just veggies - $7.99 and then to add a small amount of chicken was another $4.99! $13.00 is too much for a chicken salad folks. And then we asked for 1 pita and some Tahini sauce and they charged another $1.00 for the bread and $.99 for a small cup of Tahini. These cups are the same size as from any other fast dining restaurant. Clearly over charging for this stuff. 2 stars only because the flavor was there. read more

The food is excellent -- we love the garlic sauce and the chicken kabob plates -- and the service is great! Sam, the redhead, is our favorite. She genuinely cares about the customers and takes time to get to know them, recommend food, and make sure they have the best experience possible. Food: very good. Service: not so much. The woman (owner, I assume) misheard my husband when he placed a take-out order of tabouli and hummus. When he arrived home, there was no tabouli, and we discovered we were charged for babaganoush instead. So, the two of us returned to the restaurant. I nicely pointed out how difficult it can be to hear one another through the masks (a very accommodating and non-confrontational observation). What a disappointing response... The woman flatly ignored my polite suggestion. Instead, she was accusatory - blaming my husband for ordering the wrong thing; and she was defensive - insisting she had read back what he had ordered. Let's be clear.... First, my husband has never ordered babaganoush in his life, so there is no way he did it that day. Second, he is 80 years old - so, if she did repeat the wrong item (through the mask), it is possible he might not have heard her error. When that part of the transaction was complete, I asked about a dish we hadn't experienced. Instead of answering me, she shoved a take-out menu in my hand (there were no other customers waiting). How easy it would have been for this woman to be gracious - kindly acknowledging a misunderstanding. Instead, I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth over her very bad attitude. read more

I've been here twice. The first time I had the falafel sandwich and it was really good. So good that I was ready to eat there again the next day. I eventually went back and had the filet mignon kabob. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't that good. As soon as I finished I noticed my stomach wasn't feeling too good. I left, hopped on the freeway, and immediately got off on the Flynn exit. I went straight to Harbor Freight to use the bathroom because I was not going to make it to Oxnard! Unbelievably good. I've eaten a LOT of Middle Eastern vegetarian plates but this was the BEST hands down. The Baba ganoush was perfect AND included in the plate. Often times it's a separate charge. The Falafel were the BEST I have EVER eaten anywhere. They were NOT dry and loaded w/ cumin like an amateur would make. These were fried, NO grease, light, and fluffy with only a touch of cumin if that. The tabbouli perfection again! Amatures make it with 50% bulgur...nope....these fantastic chefs made it about 1% bulgur like a PRO! I cannot praise it enough. The lentil soup needs a little help. read more

I eat here a couple times a month with my boyfriend and we love the food! Never have had any issues with what we order, we both get the chicken shawarma dish except I'm a vegetarian and only order the dish because it comes with rice as the falafel dish does not. So basically I have to ask for the chicken on the side. Whenever we're there, Sam is always there helping us out and she remembers me and my weird order which is super awesome! This is our first order from this restaurant. I am a frequent visitor to the Mediterranean Pita Grill located in Calabasas and Westlake Village. I ordered my usual chicken kabab favorite which seemed like a safe bet for a new venue. The comparison was disappointing. The salad greens were fresh but the light dressing was a sprinkle of vinegar and lacking the olives, tomatoes, cucumber and onion I am used to. The chicken was tough and flavorless. The rice was plain steamed rice. The meal had two large thick chewy pieces of flatbread to eat with the garlic spread and hummus. It was overall, equivalent to hospital food. Kafta Kabab ordered by my guest was beef flavored with Cinnamon. It was tender but uninspiring. If you are on a restricted diet, this may be just right for you minus the bounty of carbohydrates. Unfortunately I am not inspired to go back to sample other dishes which may be better. The dachshund did enjoy the uneaten meat and hummus. read more

I've been here 4 times, and every time I wonder why I don't come here more often. My mouth is tingly from the fantastic garlic sauce. The portions are generous, and all the flavors fresh and packed with flavor. The owner is very friendly and complimented us with falafel and baklava, both of which were exceptional. The falafel were hot and just right spices, and the baklava dripping with honey and crispy. My tastebuds are in a happy coma. If you live in Camarillo you do not need to go far to enjoy authentic, generous, and delicious Mediterranean cuisine! read more

Other than the fact that their food is full of oil, the food here has a nice flavor. A word of caution, if you're going to order from here, call it in before you arrive. Food prep is very slow here and and the cooks don't seem to look at orders that may take less time to prepare to get them out of the way first as they prepare the longer to make orders. I ordered a Vegetarian Plate that took them more than 25 min to prepare from the time I ordered and I was annoyed because it was during my lunch hour. Not to mention that another time I was there and waiting at my table, although they bought my plate to me, I was advised that this is not what they do and have to listen for my order, hence the reason I was standing there waiting all that time...I heard the very nice cashier tell the cooks about 10 min after my order was placed that I was waiting for my Vegetarian Plate, the cook looked annoyed. I thought this was a nice gesture by her since I figured that she also seemed to notice that it was taking longer than it should. I decided to wait another 10-15 min thinking that my order would be made faster since she mentioned it to the cooks, nope! I decided to cancel my order since I could not eat it at work, the order was still not done, perhaps not even started. It was not the cashier's fault, she was very nice. She offered to make it a to-go, but I was hoping to have a nice sit down meal that day. We absolutely LOVED having Mama's Hummus as our Wedding Caterer. All of the food was delicious and we honestly got TONS of compliments, even weeks after our wedding we are still getting guests telling us how great it was! Apart from that, they also took the time to make the food "look nice" (like making a flower out of tomatoes to decorate the hummus and such) and we got even more food than we expected, and everything was set up so quickly. Also, when we called on the day of saying we needed the food a bit earlier than expected, they rushed right over! Naji, the owner, met with us multiple times (in person and via phone) to work out exactly what we wanted based on our needs as well as our budget and he was very patient with us and really worked with us to get the perfect package that we wanted. He was very accommodating and their food in general is AMAZING and truly authentic. We could not have asked for a better caterer - best food, best service, and very personal and professional. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone, whether it is for catering or a delicious dinner date! :) We are only sad that they do not have a location closer to our home so we can enjoy their food more often! read more

This Mediterranean place is 3X as expensive as Mediterranean Pita in Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks if you can believe that. This place charges $8.99 for 5 little nuggets of chicken kabob on the side. TO price is $3.49 for 5 nuggets of chicken. Garlic sauce is an extra $1.00 at this place and FREE at Mediterranean Pita. Their salads are smaller and $1 more than TO. Then their plates are WAY OVERPRICED. They charge $12.99 for hummus, salad, rice, Pita, and again...5 pieces of chicken kabob. TO price is only $9.99 and you get 2 CHICKEN KABOB SKEWERS!!! I only paid this because when I ordered over the phone I thought that the prices were the same as TO with the same portion of food. When I picked up my food the sales girl barely spoke English, couldn't tell me anything and their manager wasn't on duty. So I requested that he call me and wanted a FULL REFUND!!!! He called me back the next day and said to give him another chance and to come in and see him and he would "take care of me". Well, it was about over a week before I went back. I text him first to be sure he was there. He said he wasn't but would order me whatever I wanted. So I told him what I wanted and he had the audacity to tell me that I didn't originally have a problem with his extra side of garlic sauce for $1 to begin with. So guess what...went to pick up our free food and we were charged $1 just for the extra side of sauce. Robbery!! Here's the best part....I'm finally getting over being sick from the food. Within 2 hours I was throwing up from the food I ate. It was probably poisoned!!! read more

We were driving through the area and decided to have a nice, slow lunch. We found this place on Yelp as we were driving on 101. Nice place with casual atmosphere. The seating outside was a great place to have lunch on a nice warm afternoon. The employees were very friendly and informative about the menu. We had the tri-tip and chicken items. At first we thought it was a lot of food, but after a while we realized we finished everything. It was that good. This place has decent food and atmosphere. Only reason for the negative review is because of Amanda, our cashier/order taker on 1/25/17 approx 6:30pm. My girlfriend and I have been here several times without issue. However this time Amanda managed to anger me. We were literally in the middle of giving Amanda our order, and the phone rings. Understandably, Amanda answers it. However, instead of asking the guest on the phone to please hold (because she is in the middl of taking our order in person) she continues to take the phone customers order. I was literally mod-sentence ordering my chicken schawarma, and here I am watching Amanda take this persons phone order instead. But hold on- it gets better! So I get my fountain cup and complete paying for our order, go to find a table, and Amanda starts cleaning tables. I find what appears to be a clean table and sit down with my soda. Amanda then asks me to move so that she can continue cleaning tables. I know it's her job, but hello? I'm already sitting at this table with my girlfriend, and we're having a private conversation. So begrudgingly, we move. Amanda then continues to spray cleaner on the tables, causing the overspray to shoot in our direction! Who does this?? Doesn't anyone get trained anymore? 1:) serve the people on front of you before the people on the phone. 2:) don't ask customers to move tables if they are happy. 3:) definitely don't spray the tables especially near customers!
