Went there over labor day weekend. They had a nice crowns just enough to know the food was pretty good and not so many we were stuck waiting. Light breakfast after a few adult drinks the night before. We got their cinnamon roll toast breakfast and added a side of bacon (for me) and sausage (for her). I was happy the bacon was crispy nothing worse than soggy bacon (Denny"s)! And the sausage was cooked to a lovely complexion I must say I enjoyed the cinnamon roll, but I was disappointed with the potatoes. They were cooked to a perfected crispness and soft inside but lacked and real flavor palettes there weren't any onion or bell peppers to fire up the flavor. Just a fried potato. Customer service was good. We were greeted when we arrived. We placed our order and the food was promptly made and served to us. That's where all of the good ends and the bad begins. Because every morsel of food that we ate was terrible. Didn't like the catfish, it was fishy and taste nasty. Didn't like the french fries, they were bland and hard. Mama's Kitchen might be a small kitchen, in the cut, inside of a liquor store, but let me tell you...it is sooo dang good! My husband & I have tried everything on the menu and you can't go wrong with any of it. The chicken is always crispy crunchy but so moist and juicy on the inside, the fish is just as good. Don't sleep on the chili cheese fries either. Their portions are huge, but priced just right! So glad we did time we walked in the young lady at the counter was very helpful explain the orders and what comes with it I must say I have finally found a down home cooking place so now I know where to go when I am missing my fish the fish wasn't greasy either and it was cook to order it wasn't underneath a hot light because when I go some place I am very aware of all of my surroundings. Terrible customer service! I was supposed to pick up my food at 02:09; when I asked for the food they said five minutes. I waited respectfully, after five minutes I'm wondering where my food is at. I ask the cashier, and she says the cook hasn't started on my food and she's on a 10 minute break. By the time I leave with the food it's already been 20+ minutes. First time to Mama's kitchen, small restaurant with usually an hour wait. The restaurant has modern setting with lots nice glass and silver decor. It was just me and my wife and we ordered wonton in Szechuan sauce, tantan noodles, crispy beef and fried rice. The wonton was very tasty with just a dash of spice. Tantan noodles was a little soggy for me and didn't care for it. The crispy beef had a good sweat marination. Overall, the portions aren't very big, but descent meal. read more

It's 20 minutes from the strip and a small little family owned place and omg we loved it. The cook greeted us as we walked in. The food was fresh and delicious! Make sure you try the "stupid fries" they were bomb asf!!! I didn't get to take a picture because we smashed them as soon as they came out! We also tried the catfish that was yummy. The shrimp and grits were really good. The fried chicken is good and crispy, I love fried chicken. The kids loved the koolaid. The prices were decent. Feeling lazy I decided to order delivery from them using the Yelp app, which was easy. I ordered a fried catfish dinner, sides were yams and the hot water cornbread & I ordered a fried chicken snack. The food arrived timely and temp wise rhe food was hot & freshly prepared. The catfish had too much cornmeal/breading and it caused 1 of the filets to be undercooked/raw which is why they lost 1 star the other star loss was for the fish being bland NO flavor at all on the piece of fish that actually was cooked throughly. The chicken was decent, again it could've been fried harder, thd wings were still gummy like. The greens were delicious and super hot (temp wise). The hot water cornbread was great too. My fiancé had the hot links poboy with the slaw and a side of Mac and cheese and fried pickles. Let me tell you about the slaw: it was perfect. It was the perfect ratio of sweet and crunch, not overpowering like a lot of vinegar doused slaws these days. Our poboys were great: the bread wasn't soggy, the slaw complimented the hotlinks flavor...my catfish was breaded perfectly and the slaw amplified the experience. Omg! We dined in and omg! I saw the biggest roach in America literally about to crawl up my leg. Thank God my husband was there to get it away from me. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 6.
