Yum, yum, and yummier! I've been dying to try this spot after hearing about the legendary wait times, so my colleague and I stopped by for lunch. We were seated in about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad at all! Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. We both ordered the catfish, grits, and waffles (I added eggs with cheese to mine). The waffle was hands-down the best we've ever had, and the catfish was so flavorful. I leveled up my grits with cheese, bacon, and spinach--chef's kiss! So after such an unfortunate experience at First Watch earlier this morning. I decided to drive to Gritz Cafe where the energy, and vibes are always refreshing to me. The Hostesses and Servers are all very friendly, and welcoming. Schanel is my Server today, she was very patient she was not moody or rushy while I observed the revamped version of their new menu. Now I ordered the Three Egg Omelet. Just because it was soooooo gooodt last time I ate it here. The Succulent Shrimp comes either (grilled or fried). I went with grilled, light Cheddar Cheese, Sautéed Mushrooms, Bell Peppers, Spinach, Grilled Onions, and Tomatoes. The First TWO ADD-INS are FREE, however each Addt'l is.$.98cents each. I'd never tried this particular Three Egg Omelet before and I'm glad I did. It had a ton of Succulent Shrimp pieces (big chunks). Everything was PERFECT, I ate All of my food. I normally have leftovers buuuuuut this breakfast was so darn tasty I had to clean my plate lmao. After hearing so much we finally made it out. I called on a weekend to hear that you gotta wait and they cut the line an hour before closing, so we took our chances with a Monday. Paid off. It was literally 8 mins between getting on the list and getting a table for two. There was a party of over 10 waiting. I felt for them, I think they ended up splitting into smaller groups bc otherwise it would've been some time. Even coming on a late Monday morning, it was packed! I love to see it! Ronnie helped check us in and later helped our server Princess, as she seemed swamped towards the end of our meal. Service was great though. We did the Kentucky and Mississippi plates. Sides were grits, greens, Mac and the butter pecan waffle (WORTH the up charge!) music was a bop. Stuff my mom played in the house. They even sang Stevie's version of hbd to a patron. Food. Of all the stops on our food crawl, Gritz Cafe was hands-down the most satisfying! Comfort food at its finest. I completely cleaned my plate--wings, gritz, greens, and mac 'n' cheese. We arrived a little after 12pm, so it was busy with a few people ahead of us and lots of pickup orders going out, but the wait was only about 10 minutes and absolutely worth it. Today was a gentle reminder of how meaningful the simple things can be. I finally had the opportunity to take my neighbor to Gritz Cafe for her very first visit. She had been a bit hesitant at first--having recently relocated from Chicago--and with life and schedules moving so quickly, it took us four months to make it happen. I truly appreciate her patience. As expected, the food was absolutely delicious, but what made the experience even more special was the warmth we received. The customer service was excellent, and Ms. Trina ( Owner) personally came out to greet her and welcome her to Las Vegas. OMG I have been hearing about this place and finally made it. the food is bomb.com and the service is awesome. These ladies and gentlemen are really working and taking pride in it. What a great crew. My husband had catfish's poor boy with french fries. The fries are kind of thick and seemed undercooked. My husband love fries and it was the first time he said he didn't like them. He finished his poor boy but he didn't love the food like I did. I had a sweet potato waffle with shrimp and grits. It was so delicious. I knew I wouldn't be able to finish both things so I wrapped them to go. As I'm sitting in my hotel waiting for a microwave. I opened up my leftovers and they're just as good cold. I was in town for the Chris Brown concert and like many others I came to Gritz Café after seeing so many great reviews. I fully understand that a popular restaurant will come with a long wait. That was not the issue. The real problem was the lack of communication. I arrived around 1:45 pm and was told there would be about a two hour wait for a table. The hostess suggested I try takeout, which sounded like a good option since there were outdoor seats available. However, when I went to place my takeout order I was told they were no longer accepting any more orders. At that point there was no way to eat at all. I had already spent more than twenty dollars on an Uber to get there only to find out I could not be seated or order anything. I then had to spend even more money on rides to another restaurant and back to my hotel. That part was especially frustrating because a simple sign outside or clearer communication from the hostess could have saved me the trip and the cost. I was excited to try this place but I never even got the chance. Maybe the food is as good as the reviews say, but my experience was more about poor communication than the wait time. Hopefully this is something they can improve on so other guests do not walk away just as disappointed. read more

Some with yam waffles and chicken and a Holy Trinity with cat fish fillets. We also all had "muddy waters" to drink - their version of a Arnie Palmer. The visit was great. I FINALLY got experience the cafe without having to wait. The waitresses greeted as soon as I walked in. There were quite a few customers for 730 AM. I wa seated right away. Only a few tables remained. As soon as I seated I was asked my beverage of choice. Water no ice and some coffee with creamer. Those arrived quickly. I had my eye on an omlett. 2nd time here and it still amazing! Today we had the catfish and grits and the 3 wings and grits with a side of over medium eggs. We got Arnold Palmers for drinks it was all 10:10. We had to wait a little bit before being seated, which was fine, it was crowded. When sat we were greeted warmly by our server and she gave good recommendations. The place is bright, clean and has a jovial feel to it. We loved the wings a lot 10/10! But, the catfish: 100/10, they seasoned them perfectly and fried them nice and hard. We saw this place on Somebody Feed Phil and tried coming a few weeks ago but they were so busy towards the end of the day they could only offer takeout orders so we tried again and only waited about five minutes to be sat on a Saturday. The food was great. The sweet potato waffle was the winner. Mac & cheese was great, very thick and cheesy. The fried pork chops were flavorful but I was surprised at how thin they were. Went there on 3/19/26 during my vist from Queens NY and there was a 45min-1hr wait for a table indoors, however the waitress suggested to order to-go plates and utilize one of the four tables outside, Which we did. I ordered the catfish/chicken and grits combo with a sweet tea. This came with toast, a waffle and eggs of your choice. This was possibly the BEST catfish I've had seasoned and fried to perfection not greasy nor fishy just delightful. The waffle was fluffy and paired well with both the fried chicken and catfish. The grits were both cheesy and satisfying. I would rate everything a 10/10. We even wanted to revisit Sun before our return back to NY but was disappointed to learn they are closed on Sunday.
