Great value for your money. Well clean and organized. Great biscuit variety. Service is good and fast.

We decided to take a detour this morning for breakfast and stop in Social Circle, GA. We visited Mamie's Kitchen. It was obviously a popular local spot for breakfast. The staff was friendly. The food was just not our favorite. The biscuits were not to our liking.

Every time we visit my cousin in Social Circle, Georgia, one stop is practically guaranteed: Hot…read moreRod's Diner. We've eaten here enough times that it feels less like a restaurant visit and more like part of the tradition. Tonight I ordered the Blue Plate Special with hamburger steak smothered in grilled onions, collard greens, green beans, cornbread, and a big bowl of Brunswick stew. My unsweet tea stayed filled thanks to Rhonda, who was serving tables while also managing the restaurant. We learned that Hot Rod's started the evening with three servers scheduled. Business was slow, so one server was sent home. Naturally, that's when things picked up. Even so, Rhonda and the remaining server kept everything moving smoothly, and we never felt neglected during our visit. The Brunswick stew was excellent and gave us an unexpected opportunity for comparison. Earlier in the day we had Brunswick stew at Fresh Air Bar-B-Que. Hot Rod's version was chunkier, with larger pieces of meat, more noticeable vegetables, and a slight kick of spice. The Fresh Air version was smoother and more finely blended. Both were excellent, but they were definitely different styles. The hamburger steak was flavorful, the green beans and collard greens tasted like proper Southern vegetables, and when the Texas Pete hit the table there was only one thing to say: "My man, Texas Pete goes on the collards." Then came the surprise ending. We learned that peach cobbler was half price today. Unfortunately, they were out. Or so we thought. A fresh cobbler was still in the oven. For the next several minutes, the suspense reached maximum peach. Finally, the cobbler emerged from the kitchen and was served à la mode. The French gave it a classy name. The South perfected the application. Warm peaches, a buttery cobbler topping, and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream that immediately melted with a purpose made for the perfect ending to the meal. It was absolutely worth the wait. Hot Rod's continues to be one of our favorite stops in Social Circle, and after another great meal, I have no doubt we'll be back again the next time we're in town. I decided to try the salmon eggs benedict, and it was nothing short of outstanding--a beautiful fusion of flavors with perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise, and fresh, high-quality salmon. Every bite was satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. The rustic potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right, making them the perfect complement to the dish. I also ordered mimosas made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, which added a refreshing and vibrant touch to the entire experience. What impressed me most was the attention to detail, from the presentation of the food to the overall quality of the ingredients. You can really tell they care about what they serve. I drove 40 minutes just to try this place, and it was absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier brunch experience!

We came for a birthday with our girlfriends. Our food was delicious but even though they weren't busy, they rushed us so much! We were celebrating a birthday and at the 15 birthdays we've celebrated at this restaurant before this, they always brought a birthday crepe and this time they didn't. Then they cleared EVERYTHING from our table the second we paid. Water glasses everything. The birthday girl looked at the man clearing our table and said "well, I guess that's our que." There's no way they needed our table, there were plenty open. It was just disappointing when you have certain expectations regarding service when this specific restaurant created the expectation!

Surprisingly good! My server recommended it and also brought me more gravy on the side... thank goodness! The kitchen was rather stingy! LOL

How had I not written a review. I LOVE this place. I live in Atlanta and if only the people of…read moreMadison knew how LUCKY they were to have this in their downtown square. I have been here multiple times and it never fails to disappoint. A few of my favourite items are Baguette - MUST PURCHASE. One of the best even compared to many of the bakeries in Atlanta. Croissant - All are very good. Highly recommend Blueberry Fontaine - becoming another favourite. Better to eat the day of. They are usually sold out so I always try to snag them. Eclairs - another staple I've been getting. The filling is delicious AND Jam packed. I only wish they have a chocolate top with vanilla filling option but that's cause it's a nostalgic thing. Smore Tart - I love this but I usually have to share with because the chocolate is so dense. Keylime - another one I always get, just the perfect flavor. Honestly haven't had a bad thing there. Also the customer service person is always as enthusiastic as we are about the goods. There is no place to sit but you can go across the square and get a coffee and have a seat in the old gas station (I've been told the bakery owns that company too)

Given my love of eclairs, and after reading the reviews about this place, my adoptive family (wife…read moreand hubby) and I, finally got a chance to stop here. While I've had eclairs and tarts from several different Italian bakeries, and 3 stores, this is the first time I've had them from a French (these treats originated in France) bakery. Even though thel size is inline with the original classic eclair (had a bit less gauche), I was disappointed. And, much prefer the Italian version. Now, they had 4 different versions of eclairs (fruit, chocolate, vanilla and, coffee), along with many different tarts, with and without, fruit. I settled on 2 Chocolate Eclairs and, 1 Blueberry + Almond Fruit Tart. BAFT: While I liked it, it was nothing to write home about. I felt that there wasn't enough almond flavoring and, the crust was a bit dry. CEs: While it was packed with filling, I think, someone in the kitchen messed up, as there was a distinctive coffee taste (I don't like coffee), rather than just the custard or, vanilla taste. Had it not been for that, I would have given them 4 Stars. Why not 5? Well, I thought $6.00 (x2) and $7.00 each is a bit expensive. Especially, considering the size of the CEs and BAFT. For sure, I won't worry about a special trip here again. And, if we should stop here again, I doubt if I'd even bother with the eclairs (maybe a fruit one???).
