    Veal chop parmigiana

Momma Lena's is a nice Italian restaurant dedicated to serving quality food, specialized presentations with a well organized staff. All servers and wait staff were attentive, very friendly and knowledgeable. Appetizers were delicious-we had the rice balls. Although we didn't order a salad we saw many delivered to nearby tables and they all looked tasty. Presentation was great. Why wife had the pork chop with a sweet potato below the chop in a delicious gravy. Outstanding. I had the veal chop parmigiana which was out of this world! Perfectly cooked, delicious red sauce and cheese. Very very tender. The place isn't very big but we were seated on time. It was only slightly noisy and very easy to carry on a conversation. Definitely worth the visit and will go back. Make sure you make reservations ahead of time

A delightful and authentic Italian restaurant in Ventor. Hidden little gem, inside a condominium, with little to no digital presence. The food was delicious, fresh and great depth of flavor. The pork chop - wow. Coming from a pork chop hater, this was a tender and delicious surprise. Great flavor in the veal braised, fettuccine ragu. Quaint, warm restaurant and chef rounding tables was a great touch of service.

The food was incredible. We had the stuffed figs, beet salad, carbonara, short rib and fish special. Maria was a wonderful and such an attentive server. The restaurant atmosphere was comfortable, clean, and modern. We will be going back as often as possible.

The entire night was a complete success and fabulous dining experience. We had a table of six with shared appetizers(fig and meatball)that were an absolute pleasure and exploded with flavor. Most of us had the pounded veal chop either Milanese style or parmigiana style. The portions were large and the veal very tender. Two others had the pasta carbonara that again had great flavors. Chef Dominic's gravy(sauce) is one of the best you will taste. The atmosphere was pleasant and our server added to the enjoyment of the meal with her menu knowledge and pleasant personality. We will definitely return.

Hidden gem in 5000 boardwalk BYOB Lovely renovation of the poolside, oceanfront space. Family owned and run. Chef Dominique carefully curated the menu and assembled the team. He demonstrates pride in ownership circulating among the guests. Food was delicious from the salad and bread to the pasta and mains. Highly recommend.

Absolute GEM of a place. Maria and Dom really know what they are doing. Service is great, ambiance is amazing, and the food is to die for. It's BYOB which I love. We got the veal parm, seafood pasta, and eggplant rotini, with the burrata as a starter. Must try if you're in Atlantic county, we will be regulars moving forward! Bravo!

The special meal item a "Drata" fish dish for my life partner.

A truly delectable experience. On a Saturday night, off the road after a long day of work, we were greeted by a fabulous smile and even spotted Dominique (the proprietor) as he waved a hand our way, upon entering. As you may know, I'm a bit of a fussy eater (no pepper, vegetation, etc), the delightful staff went out of their way to accommodate my palate and I was not disappointed. Off the menu, the chef created a wild mushroom pasta dish that was just delicious. A bit out of my price range but was well worth every bit of the dollars spent. A must visit if you are in for a community that believes in food being one of the essentials of life.

PRIDE, PORK CHOPS & PURE JOY AT BYRDCAGE ATLANTIC CITY…read more Atlantic City was absolutely glowing this weekend during the Atlantic City Great Pride Festival at O'Donnell Park near Stockton University. More than 1,000 people were expected to attend, and the energy was incredible--music, dancing, laughter, and love everywhere you looked. Just two short blocks from the festival at 3426 Atlantic Avenue sits one of Atlantic City's true gems: Byrdcage Atlantic City. I stopped in throughout the day to cool off, enjoy some mimosas and other refreshing low-alcohol beverages, hydrate, and eventually have dinner. From the moment I walked in, I immediately got why this place has such a loyal following. First, the cleanliness deserves its own paragraph. I have visited restaurants all over the country, and I honestly don't remember seeing an establishment this spotless. The interior and exterior were immaculate. Not a spot of dust. Even during one of the busiest days of the year, the restrooms remained roomy, pristine, and exceptionally clean. The atmosphere is equally impressive. The décor is whimsical, fun, and carefully curated with fascinating photos and memorabilia everywhere you look. Outside, colorful murals create the perfect backdrop for photos and add even more personality to an already vibrant space. And then there was dinner. My server, Isabella, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. She even arranged for a dinner entrée to be served before dinner service had officially begun, and I was so grateful she did. I ordered the Seoul Mate Sizzle Pork Chop Platter, and wow. A beautifully grilled bone-in pork chop glazed in a sweet and savory sauce and served over fresh pineapple salsa, alongside creamy herb rice and perfectly cooked vegetables including broccoli, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and carrots. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the pineapple salsa took it to another level. It was one of those meals where you intentionally slow down because you don't want it to end. And the music? The music made me dance almost all day and well into the night. There was something happening everywhere--at the Pride Festival, downstairs, and upstairs on the dance floor. The DJs absolutely nailed it. Great music, great energy, and great people. I honestly lost track of time because I was having so much fun. Management was everywhere--engaged, attentive, and laser-focused on every detail of the operation. The entire team worked together seamlessly to create something special. More than anything, Byrdcage felt like what every establishment should aspire to be: a safe space filled with kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and pure joy. It was family-friendly, welcoming to everyone, and simply fun. I even bought a Byrdcage shirt at the festival because this is exactly the kind of local business I enjoy supporting. If you're visiting Atlantic City, don't just come for the casinos. Come for experiences like this. Come for the people. Come for the music. Come hungry. Come ready to dance. And absolutely make time for Byrdcage Atlantic City. I'll be back. #ByrdcageAtlanticCity #AtlanticCity #AtlanticCityNJ #AtlanticCityPride #GreatPrideFestival #Pride #LGBTQIA #LoveIsLove #InclusiveSpaces #SafeSpace #YelpElite #Foodie #PorkChopPerfection #Mimosas #DanceAllDay #DanceAllNight #SupportLocal #FamilyFriendly #RestaurantReview #AtlanticCityEats #VisitAtlanticCity #JerseyShore #StocktonUniversity #ODonnellPark #OrangeLoop #EatLocal #ACNJ #PrideCelebration #GoodVibesOnly #PureJoy #AtlanticCityBoardwalk #BeachVibes

Next thing I know, the bartender, Domingo, starts yelling from behind the bar and then comes around questioning why I was in the establishment. He made it very clear that the restrooms were for paying customers only. I firmly replied, "I plan to dine in, but need to use the restroom first. Is that a problem?" He didn't seem too happy with that response and walked away. As intended, I sat at the bar and ordered wings and truffle fries. The food wasn't particularly memorable, but the wings were a decent size. The truffle fries were fine, but nothing that stood out. Antonio clocked in about halfway through my meal and was a breath of fresh air. He was friendly, attentive, and completely changed the tone of the experience. Overall, it was a good visit with decent food and great service from Antonio. Unfortunately, my first interaction with Domingo left a poor impression and took away from what otherwise would have been a positive experience.

I started with a delightful lemon berry spritz, $4.99 on happy hour, very light and refreshing in a sneaky boozy way. Spouse ordered a draft Hidden Sands beer, also $4.99 on happy hour. Staff was unobtrusive but readily available as we dined at the bar. Only a few other patrons were there on a Sunday at 430pm. I saw one order of tacos at the end of the bar and confirmed the tortillas were indeed corn, hooray! The appetizers are impressive in variety, portion and quality. We shared them, but spouse gravitated towards the shellfish. The red sauce mussels were made spicy on request, and they were a good sized portion with a simple toasted sliced bread. A little grated parm and parsley graced the mussels. The Tres Tacos were filled with a nice carne asada. Big chunks of perfect steak, pico, avocado and melty cheese inside on corn tortillas (rare in the East). I could eat these every day! I think the tortillas needed a little more time on the flat grill, but that's my preference. Finally the calamari. I dream about finding a grilled calamari like this back home in Phoenix. No breading, just pure grilled squid rings and tentacles all tossed with garlic, seared poblanos, lemon and some greens. LOVE LOVE LOVED this dish!!! It's about time we found a meal that wasn't pub food and was yet still affordably priced. RYFE has a very talented chef, we loved the menu and preparations. Think 70s bar energy, cushioned bar stools, retro TVs, the whole thing. It felt like stepping into a different era in the best way possible. We started with drinks and they did not disappoint. The $7 mini martinis are a steal, we got the dirty with blue cheese olives and The Garrison 17 which is alibi gin, herb infused vanilla and rhubarb shrub, egg white and lemon. Both were made right in front of us which was a nice touch, and they were genuinely well crafted, not just cheap happy hour drinks. Food is where it really shined though. The whipped ricotta was unreal, we got both the EVOO with Maldon sea salt and the fig, hot honey and hazelnut. The EVOO one especially was one of those things you keep going back to. For pasta we hit the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, the Crab Orecchiette with chili shrimp and basil, and the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni with calabrian chili. The cacio e pepe stole the show honestly, simple but executed perfectly. Everything was half off which makes it even more ridiculous value.
