Mamma Lucia of Silver Spring is such a gem! From the moment you walk in, the warm, mom-and-pop atmosphere makes you feel right at home. You're greeted with the amazing scent of freshly made pizza, and the staff is genuinely kind and attentive. We started with the fresh garlic bread (so good!) and then moved on to the menu... and wow. Favorites include: * Mussels in a garlic white wine sauce - perfectly cooked and flavorful * Shrimp Bada Bing - spicy, bold, and addictive * Seafood Asparagus - crab, shrimp, scallops, mushrooms, asparagus, penne, all in a creamy pink sauce * Cappelini Adriatico - scallops, shrimp, crab, angel hair pasta, and fresh cherry tomato sauce All pastas come with a side salad, and you can choose between garden or Caesar. And the tiramisu? Absolutely the best I've ever had -- light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. If you're in Silver Spring and craving authentic, comforting Italian food with great service, this is the place to go!

This is a REALLY good restaurant! I highly recommend that you get the baked ziti with the sausage the mamma Lucia's pizza and the cheesecake. Everything that I had was extremely delicious. I will be back again and again! Customer service and parking were great too.

We had a pleasant time at Mamma Lucia. The garlic bread they bring to the table was so yummy, along with the olive oil and cheese mixture. Their pastas were hefty and were large portions. The pizza was one of my favorites, it was a massive pie and they did not skimp on toppings. This is a very cute restaurant and the food came out fast!

I went to this place today to celebrate father's day with my wife and kids, Luis "the King" was our waitress, this man is something else, he was so nice during our visit, please when you get there, ask for him, he is the best in what he does

Nice staff, everyone was attentive and helpful. The venue and restroom were clean, and the food was good. Try it for yourself. Bon appetit!

I love the food at Mama Lucia. The pizza is always my go to, but I noticed a dish I hadn't seen before and decided to try their spaghetti squash, which I topped with olive oil, garlic and grilled chicken. It wasn't very clear I had to take a table on my own as the hostess/server appeared to be on her meal break. I wasn't in a rush but maybe in those instances having a sign that directs customers to seat themselves would be helpful. There is wear and tear of the dining tables and chairs, adding to casual ambience of the restaurant. Unfortunate that one must punch in a code to use the restroom.

This mama lucia location felt oddly like a parody of a fancy restaurant. Friendly wait staff, bread brought to the table, expansive menu, and drinks. But the waiter was comically aggressively nice and attentive to the point of annoyance, the bread was inedible being either too burnt or too soggy depending on which piece you picked, and the majority of the menu items were overpriced and not very good. The pizza pulls them out of disaster and into OK territory. Get the large since it's not that much more cost wise and you can always take the left overs home. My son and I split a large, ate half of it there and were stuffed, then I ate off the rest for a couple of days. Some good things that helped get us to 3 stars are that there is free parking, a rarity in silver spring, the pizza is good, and they are definitely trying very hard and you have to assume they'll find their stride since it seems they are willing to put in the effort. Get pizza skip everything else.

Ordered dinner from here tonight and thought we'd have the same experience we did with the College Park location but we're sadly disappointed. The fettuccine alfredo primarily tasted of butter and nothing else. I found it even lacking basic salt. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana sub and found it to be fine. Hopefully, it was just an off night but in case it wan't, I wouldn't come to this location again.

Chicken parmigiana -- really good, and the portion size was massive!!

I enjoyed eating at Mamma Lucia in Silver Spring! I went with a few friends for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Luis was our waiter and he was awesome and very friendly. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, and it was huge!! The portion size was amazing, and I definitely had to take a to go box to eat it for two more meals at home. My friends got the carbonara and a pizza with alfredo sauce. The ambiance was nice and casual, nothing too fancy. I thought it was a little pricey for the casual atmosphere, but I didn't mind it too much because I enjoyed the food, and the service was great. I do recommend you give it a try if you're ever in the Silver Spring area and want to sit down at a casual Italian restaurant to have some pasta or pizza. I will probably be back. Thank you, Luis and everyone else at Mamma Lucia Silver Spring!

    Grilled Salmon with vegetables! Marvelous!

Mamma Lucia provides excellent service! Luis is an amazing server and keeps clientele coming back. We had my fave Chicken Florentina, which is custom made sauce similar to Alfredo. It has seasone chicken breast covered in spinach and mozzarella cheese. My wife had the grilled salmon with vegetables. Plus I ordered a side of grilled skirt steak well done. Everything was deliciously made fresh!

I had the shrimp Alfredo and it was super salty. It was not worth $30+ at all. The service was great... the waitresses were attentive.

Great pizza for this area. Reminds me of a NY slice which is hard to come by down here. Also great wings!

Genuinely great casual NY style Italian food. Prices are a bit high but it's the closest you can get to a NY pizza place down here.

It's family-owned and operated, and you feel that warmth the moment you walk through the door. The staff are genuinely welcoming, happily accommodate substitutions and dietary restrictions, and often recite the nightly specials with a delightful mix of English and Italian--usually accompanied by a compliment about your outfit or your dinner companion that makes everyone smile. We had Christmas Eve dinner there this year, and it was every bit as memorable as we'd hoped. The portions are generous enough to share or take half home for lunch the next day. I especially recommend the Chicken Marsala, Chicken Piccata, and the classic mussels, all prepared beautifully. Don't overlook their neighboring pizzeria either--it's our go-to for both takeout and casual dining. Trattoria Da Lina is the kind of neighborhood restaurant every community wishes it had.

It's on the same block as a really nice Thai place and a nice Mediterranean spot as well. There weren't many people on a weekday night so we just walked in. Street parking is free after 7 PM. The star was the margharita pizza. And we also got a calzone, which was also really good. The texture of the crust and the little slight crunch and the sauce was really great. I wish there was more basil on the margarita pizza. There were three pieces of basil on the entire pie the pasta we got was the seafood pasta and it was a bit salty and portions are a bit small, but maybe that's the norm now? And we also got this other mushroom ravioli thing that is also pretty good but just really small. I think it was like five or six pieces of ravioli for $24. Service was fine. It was standard. The restaurant was a little bit hot during the heat wave. I wish it was a little cooler so with the four dishes altogether it was over $80 before tip for two people and we just had a little bit left over which is why I thought the value was more 3.5 than a four. That said, I'd still come back and get the margarita pizza and calzone - they're really quite good.

I remember getting the chicken fettuccine Alfredo but I couldn't remember too much of what I thought of the spot while my fam thought it was pretty good. It's been a minute so I've finally decided to come back to review this spot. I ordered online through DoorDash for pick up and once I got there the door was locked for some reason but luckily after I called them they unlocked the door. The inside looked a bit different from the first time I was there (last time looked more spacious) but it still looked decent. For my order I got the pappardelle bolognese $22, fettuccine Alfredo $20, and classic chicken parmigiano $21. - the pappardelle bolognese was my favorite of the 3. It had a creamy tomato flavor sauce that was paired nicely with beef to make a very good tasting dish. - The fettuccine Alfredo was okay but it's not something that I would get again. - The classic chicken parmigiano was solid but nothing crazy. I did like the chicken portion but the spaghetti pasta had to be the smallest I've ever had. - the Complimentary fresh bread and oil came with the meal and it was okay. All in all, this is a solid spot for pasta and my main recommendation would be the pappardelle bolognese which was done very well.
