They have several authentic Italian style pizzas here that I really like. The Supreme, the Hawaiian style, and the Meat Lovers pizza. Today we all got the family sized meat lover pizza that included several types of meat toppings. Here a few that I know of- pepperoni, sausage, ham, and Italian Sausage. The pizza didn't include a lot of the veggies that you would typically find in a supreme style pizza. We could taste the freshness with the pizza dough and the sauce was not spicy at all. The service has always been top notch, and we've never had any issue getting a good table. This is a wonderful family Italian restaurant that is located in a great section of town. read more

I placed an order for pick up to get some pizzas for a work event today. Honestly, the order was wasted on a work event, because they have some really cool and unique pizzas I'd love to try! I got a cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza, and their Hawaiian pizza, plus a few order of mozzarella sticks. The pizzas were ready when I stopped by at my pick up time, and the cashier was very nice. The restaurant looked warm and welcoming. The food was all delicious. The mozzarella sticks were only warm when we finally ate them, but pretty good. The pizzas were great, though, and got great reviews from everyone, which is hard to do! I'm a big Hawaiian pizza fan, and their Hawaiian had really good ham and little tomatoes on it, which added a nice extra something that made it stand out. Three 16 inch pizzas was more than enough for 8 people- we could have gotten 2 and still had a couple pieces left over. It's nice to have a new go-to pizza place in the area for work functions! Stopped in for a quick lunch on the weekend. The menu had a lot of options but we decided to play it safe with a calzone and a side of fries. The calzone was stuffed with cheese and pepperoni- but almost seemed like it need a few more mins in the oven, some of the cheese wasn't completely melted. Sadly, the fries came out soft and very blonde. We asked them to stick them into the fryer again to crisp them up, but when they came back - they were only a little brown on the edges and still lacked any kind of crunch or flavor. ASTOUNDING. This establishment is amazing! The Italian is authentic, our waitress was superb, the food was delicious, and our experience was phenomenal! My friend and I absolutely love this place. We visited twice in less than a week to get a taste of a few dishes. Regrettably I only took one picture of their tiramisu. But all of the food was FANTASTIC. The cannoli was the BEST I ever had. If you want to pay $24 for a Domino's pizza with even less flavor, go right ahead. Prices and photos are intentionally misleading online. Bread:cheese:sauce ratios were so off. The recent changes in menu have failed miserably. I used to eat here every week. The large size pizza is no longer available, the vegetarian option is awful, and the management has vanished. In DC for a weekend & stayed across the street from this restaurant. After a long day walking all over the Mall & surrounding area, the convenience is what took us there. The food and service is what will bring us back on our next visit. I had the cannelloni @ it was hot & delicious. Came with warm soft bread. Paired it with a nice Chianti (& some liver w/fava beans). My stepson had a pizza & loved it. The prices were more than reasonable. I never caught the hostess/server's name but she was awesome. We were so surprised!!! We have been living in the neighborhood for several years and recently started making an effort to try restaurants near us during the pandemic (#shopsmallbusinesses). We're big pizza people. Like BIG. Last week we tried Comet Pizza further down Connecticut St. and were disappointed because the hype was nottt real. So we were apprehensive to try this spot, which had just average ratings. Well, to our pleasant surprise WE LOVED IT! The crust was crunchy on the outside/bottom, but fluffy on the inside. Toppings were crisply toasted. Lots of cheese. Our favorite thing though? MEATBALL SROMBOLI! Holy smokes. It was addicting. It married together the idea of a Georgian kachipuri and Italian meatball sub. Superbly executed. It comes with marinara and Parmesan cheese. This might be our new weakness. We also ordered the Portobella Pizza with garlic sauce substituted for the sundried tomato pesto. Great decision. Like we said, perfect crust. Great toppings. The tiramisu was also delicious. Not sure I would order again for that price, but I would love to try some of their other desserts because you could tell it was homemade! July 2019. I tried something new and it was AWESOME. This place is incredible. I had the Chicken Paradiso Panini. It comes with a small side salad. Chicken Paradiso Panini: SO GOOD. The homemade bread made fresh daily that is used in the panini it fantastic. The mozzarella, sun-dried tomato pesto, and the seasoning on the chicken work so well together to create a savory explosion of flavor that I have no feedback to give. Don't even get me started on that magical white sauce that's in there. Plus, it's a HUGE portion. Half of this filled me up. But it's so good, you'll want to finish the entire thing. Side salad: Mixed greens with a house vinaigrette on top. I loved the flavor packed into the dressing. I could order this salad as a meal - only bigger - and be happy. read more

We love the Italian pizza kitchen! If you want pizza, this is the place to go. We recommend getting the large, thin crust NY style cheese pie. The only issue is, we enjoy it certain nights of the week more - meaning, some make it better than others. We also enjoyed the manicotti very much; the lasagna was decent. The biggest downside is the service. The people are kind, but its hard to get in touch with them on the phone, and when you eventually call in an order and get there to pick it up, its not always ready. read more

We've always enjoyed their welcoming and prompt service when we've dined in, but we usually order take out which is typically ready by the time we walk over. We absolutely LOVE their super-flavorful chicken alfredo...it's even better as leftovers the next day, which is great because I can never finish the entire dinner portion. The meat sauce has just a hint of a roasted green pepper flavor...normally I'm not a fan of green peppers but that sauce is just perfect, especially on the spaghetti and/or the meatballs. Although the pizza was pretty decent, especially the Pizza Margarita, the terrible service really knocked it down. Despite the soft and tasty pizza dough, it was very hard to enjoy the food due to the staff's constant running around and difficulty in getting their attention. While I usually don't care too much about "great service" when it comes to these types of joints, the poor service made it hard to appreciate the food. Their technology leaves something to be desired-- menus are updated to different degrees, and online orders are received as incoming faxes. It was too hot for everyone in the office to trek down the block for individual pizza slices, so I split an Italian stromboli that looked... vulvic. One stromboli would adequately feed the average person, and I'm told their calzones (at least used to be) much heftier in portion. Grease was definitely an issue since the meat and mozzarella released oils during cooking, but I'd argue it wasn't excessively so, and the varied meat content was well worth it: pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, prosciutto, pancetta. Onions were very downplayed. I generally find issue with crust being too dry or boring when it's past a certain thickness, but this food delivered just the right satisfaction. Marinara sauce worthy of passing marks. I'd be happy to grab lunch here again, price point aside. Their other pizza options just sound delicious. read more

My girlfriend and I were in DC for the weekend for a family event. This restaurant was a three minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to dine there. The food was great! We both ordered a 10" pizza. The thin crust is a perfect mix of crispy and the outside and chewy in the inside. The cheese was amazing. The sauce was a great accent. My girlfriend also had veggies on hers. The staff was very friendly and the place was very hospitable. Our second night in DC, my girlfriend wanted to eat at the Thai place next door, while I wanted to try another selection from the pizza kitchen menu. We called both places and asked if it would be okay for the two of us to share one of their patio tables even though one of us was ordering from the restaurant next door. The Thai place said no. The pizza place said since we asked first it was okay, but we'd have to sit at one of the tables in the corner. I am very grateful to the staff at the Italian Pizza Kitchen for being so accommodating and hospitable. I had the Mac and Cheese, which was good, and the bread sticks, which were very good.
