    Pepperoni Create Your Own Pizza

I placed an order for pick up to get some pizzas for a work event today. Honestly, the order was wasted on a work event, because they have some really cool and unique pizzas I'd love to try! I got a cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza, and their Hawaiian pizza, plus a few order of mozzarella sticks. The pizzas were ready when I stopped by at my pick up time, and the cashier was very nice. The restaurant looked warm and welcoming. The food was all delicious. The mozzarella sticks were only warm when we finally ate them, but pretty good. The pizzas were great, though, and got great reviews from everyone, which is hard to do! I'm a big Hawaiian pizza fan, and their Hawaiian had really good ham and little tomatoes on it, which added a nice extra something that made it stand out. Three 16 inch pizzas was more than enough for 8 people- we could have gotten 2 and still had a couple pieces left over. It's nice to have a new go-to pizza place in the area for work functions! I would love to go to the restaurant myself for dinner.

    Pepperoni calzone

Stopped in for a quick lunch on the weekend. The menu had a lot of options but we decided to play it safe with a calzone and a side of fries. The calzone was stuffed with cheese and pepperoni- but almost seemed like it need a few more mins in the oven, some of the cheese wasn't completely melted. Sadly, the fries came out soft and very blonde. We asked them to stick them into the fryer again to crisp them up, but when they came back - they were only a little brown on the edges and still lacked any kind of crunch or flavor. Service was quick and efficient!

ASTOUNDING. This establishment is amazing! The Italian is authentic, our waitress was superb, the food was delicious, and our experience was phenomenal! My friend and I absolutely love this place. We visited twice in less than a week to get a taste of a few dishes. Regrettably I only took one picture of their tiramisu. But all of the food was FANTASTIC. The cannoli was the BEST I ever had. I can't believe how kind the waitress was! She served us the last cannoli available! I recommend this place to everyone who goes DC, to visit this hidden gem. Can't wait to visit again!! Very clean, organized, authentic and humble ambiance.

The service was great and they were very friendly. The food we got was delicious. I went a few days ago and I asked for a little extra tomato sauce... they gave me a big bowl of it. They always make every customer the #1 priority. The only downsides were the price and the food was a little dry. Otherwise good.

Pepperoni pizza that was supposed to be spinach and caramelized onions.

Went in right before closing to order a spinach and caramelized onion pizza, but got a pepperoni pizza instead. Did not realize it until I returned home, but IPK was nice enough to refund my money.

Going in, I knew the restaurant was gorgeous but pictures don't do A.B. justice. As soon as you enter, you see the semi-circle velvet seating, the intimate booths and this amazing bar display. I immediately had a snap a picture! Early as usual, I started off at the bar where they have a nice HH menu. I tried one of the recommended cocktails that was very good. The calamari was BANGIN! My friend schooled me and said it was tempura style which was why it tasted so good. Well, other restaurants need to take notes.. For real! Once we were done at the bar, the lovely hostess led us to our booth for dinner. We kept it simple, I had the Delmonico Ribeye sliced and she had the Branzino. She's a hard critic, much harder than me and she had to admit, both meals were BOMB!! Prepared perfectly, we both agreed.. We'll be BACK! Acqua Bistecca is a hidden jewel in upper upper NW Washington, DC, in a small newer living/shopping area with garage parking just footsteps away. If you're looking for a new slick spot to dine with a dope atmosphere, this is absolutely the place to be!!

They had a special prix-fixed menu for Valentine's Day priced at $98 per person. I thought this was a great deal considering how much food they serve you. My wife also got the wine pairing for $45- you get four glasses of wine, so it's a good deal. Natalia was our waitress and she was great. She was very friendly and service as usual was spot on. I opted for a la carte and got our usual Grilled Spiced Wild Calamari - still delicious and the Pappardelle. This is one of my favorite dishes here. Most of the pasta dishes here are really good, so you can't go wrong with any of those selections. For the special Valentine's Day menu, the Beef Tartare & Smoked Bone Marrow and the Roasted Lobster Fra Diavolo was definitely the highlight of the evening. The beef tartare was sitting on top of the bone marrow, and they served a really large piece of bone marrow! The Roasted Lobster Fra Diavolo needs to be on the regular menu- it was that good. The lobster tasted like it was cooked sous-vide because it was so light and tender. This dish also came with Key West Shrimp. The Squid Ink Tagliatelle pasta was al dente - just perfect. There is a parking garage underneath the building. They do provide parking validation.

However, I've noticed during each visit that the staff changes frequently, and we often see new faces. The servers and hosts are usually friendly, but it seems they either forget to check on us or are too busy to do so regularly. This has been a consistent issue during our visits. Although the restaurant is not overly busy, it is quite large and has multiple separate seating areas. It's possible that our server was preoccupied with other tables that we couldn't see. My daughter often feels frustrated during our visits since we don't allow her to use electronic devices like many other parents do. Despite this, she still enjoys the restaurant, the food, and the friendly staff. It's unfortunate that they don't serve warm bread and olive oil like many other Italian restaurants do. We love the seafood and all the pasta dishes, having tried them all. My favorite is Fabio's ravioli, while the grilled octopus, grilled calamari, and Branzino are also top choices. Overall, the food is good, but it is a bit pricey, and the service needs to improve. I don't mind paying higher prices, but I expect good service in return.

I have been to the neighborhood before but not this particular location. I arrive a bit early and get a table immediately. She brought a glass of water and I decided on a glass of wine, pinot noir I think. The garlic bread and wine arrive quick. I'm enjoying the first piece of garlic bread and sipping the wine. Nice! The spaghetti and meatballs came out shortly thereafter. I was a disappointed with this part of the meal. Meatballs lacked flavor. No garlic, no parmesan cheese. The pasta was fine but the sauce was watery and didn't taste like gravy at all. I ate most of it, the garlic bread accenting the meal with the wine. I will probably go back. After an hour and a half wait, our order arrived hot and well-packed. Let me say - SO MUCH FOOD. About 3/4 of the food wasn't eaten because there was so much! We could have easily split one entree and feel bad so much went to waste (our hotel does not have mini-fridges in their rooms). For entrees, we ordered the bolognese and chicken Marsala. The Marsala was a hard no - there was almost zero sauce and flavor; we basically received two chicken breasts with a few mushrooms on top of unsauced spaghetti. The bolognese, however, was delicious! Very rich, served with fettuccini. Would have enjoyed more with Parmesan cheese on top. We received salads with each entree, and the dressings tested homemade and were delicious! A side of broccoli may have been the best broccoli I've ever had from a restaurant. Also included was grilled bread, but we passed on the bread due to the abundance of the rest of the food. Our order arrived without utinsils or napkins, which was disappointing (and challenging). We were able to beg utensils from our hotel, but I would reconsider ordering from them again due to that. Overall, a hit and miss order that came in at a higher than average (for us) price.
