We were in town for my son's swim meet and wanted a great Italian spot where he could carb up before his races and I'm so happy we found this beautiful, family-oriented restaurant. The moment we walked in, the smell of fresh, delicious food filled the air and instantly made us feel at home. From the very beginning, the owners were incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming. We were greeted with genuine smiles and treated like family, which made the entire experience even more special. The customer service here is truly top-tier attentive, friendly, and full of heart. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and made with love. We were even treated to complimentary bread and pizza, which was such a thoughtful and generous touch. Craving Italian, we found this spot conveniently close to our hotel. Upon arrival, our waiter greeted us with a friendly handshake, and we were promptly seated. With both the Yelp photos and the menu to guide us, it was tough to choose. The menu prices are very reasonable. We both went with the cheese ravioli, and I had an iced tea -- the total came to just $30. The ravioli were bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly, not overdone like so many places. Service was outstanding, yet the atmosphere remains relaxed and unhurried, so don't come here expecting super-fast dining. read more

All three pastas were a hit. The menu pic shows sea scallops, but the dish has bay scallops (small). I was looking forward to the bigger ones. More tender. The bread that came with the meal is good white bread. Thick slices. Garlic bread would have sent it over the top. The mussels were plentiful. And the Alfredo maybe needed a bit more parm.... Walked by this place and went in on a whim. It was self seating, but we were greeted as we walked in. They had a nice robust menu and the service was fast. We had layers to drink so they left a pitcher for us. There was no rushing to get out of there and was definitely a great place for how relatively inexpensive it was for three people to eat. We have been three times and love this restaurant. After just one visit they remembered us and could not have been any nicer. If you are looking for Michelin * food, this is not your place. If you are looking for decent Italian food at a decent price + exceedingly nice staff/owners - this IS your place. We think that standouts are their roast pork and lamb, fried artichokes, and most all of the pasta dishes. But, I would suggest that they replace what they have for grated cheese to something that does not taste like Kraft Grated cheese. Count us in for becoming regulars!! read more

Came here with a group on a Wednesday who knew the owners John and Christina. Mom and Dad cooking in the kitchen while the daughters help serve. Started with a delicious simple salad, some white pizza, artichoke and calamari the fried coating was so perfectly light - just amazing. I had the scallop and shrimp fra diavlo which was good, scallops a bit on the small side but tasty. Others raved about veal parm and spinach and olive oil pasta. They have nice carafes of wine. Great affordable spot to bring a group. All in about $40/person. I will definitely be back to try the whole fish special. read more

We were visiting from out of town, and another Yelp review had us intrigued, as it described Vincino Restaurante Italiano as a "time capsule." That phrase perfectly encapsulates the experience, a throwback to the red table cloth/tomato and garlic classic American Italian restaurants that used to dot the East Coast. James, our server, was a perfectly charming host and waiter, and delighted in sharing the work of the chefs. Our entrees were generous and delicious. The footprint of the dining room is very small and packed with tables (as one might do with a small restaurant, but the atmosphere was comfortable and convivial. We arrived at 8pm, but parties who arrived before us continued their conversations well after we finished our dinner. Our only regret was missing out on the tiramisu (which was unavailable, so we opted for cannoli). It's decidedly not a take on modern Italian, or obsessed with regionality or terroir, but for classic American Italian of the late 20th C, it's perfection. read more

Pretty brutal. Marsala tasted like 90% wine with no mushroom flavor. The real star of the show were the mozzarella sticks. They were delivered as a fried grilled cheese sandwich. We were there Friday night for a wonderful family dinner at our favorite Italian family style restaurant. We have been dining at Vicino's for over 30 years. The owner just celebrated 36 years in business, and it was a pleasure to celebrate with him and his friendly staff. We had minestrone, white pizza, marinated red sweet roasted peppers with anchovies and garlic, pepperoni pizza, capellini pasta, veal Parmesan, veal francese, all delicious!! Appetizers ---- Fried mozzarella- 8/10 I think it could've used a little flavor. However it was different. Seems like they dio the mozzarella cheese in a batter and then fry it. ---- garden salad: 10/10 their dressing is lemony/balsamic. It was lettuce chunks of carrots, tomatoes, and red peppers. It was a good portion. Entrees: ---- baked ziti with meatballs in pink sauce: DELICIOUS!!!!!! Look, I'm never one to come down hard on a local restaurant and I won't start now. In all fairness, these people are doing their thing and their food was generally good, classic, Italian food. Solid. Props to them on the calamari as well as it was one of the best calamari I've had in a while. My biggest gripe however is that the carbonara was devoid of sauce, therefore dry, and the egg was scrambled. It was basically just noodles with scrambled egg, sitting on a bit of melted butter. When I expressed my concern to the waitress (who was great otherwise) her response was "this is how it is". Umm no. Carbonara is not supposed to have physical chunks of scrambled egg. They were gracious enough to replace the dish however and the cheese pizza I ordered was tasty although very oily. read more

Food wasn't bad but customer service was horrible. Let me share my experiences at this establishment. It's length and I apologize in advance. I visited the establishment on Sunday evening. A middle aged woman greeted us and sat us down. We asked if she had any recommendations. She suggested a few dishes, and when we inquired about one, she asked if we ate pork. We told her we didn't, and she told her recommendations. A few minutes later, a younger girl came to take our order. Again, we mentioned we don't eat pork, and she responded, "I know you don't eat pork." We ordered three meals. Two of the foods arrived, but the third took longer. The third order was a Chicken Cutlet Sub. We didn't mind them taking longer on the third order as we were sharing the foods. When we reminded her about the third order, she assured us it was on the way. By the time we nearly finished the first two plates, the third arrived. However, when placing the dish down, she remarked, "This one has something she can eat," referring to me. I asked what she meant, and she said the dish contained pork. Up until that point, everything had been fine. We explained we all don't eat pork and asked if we could order something else. She insisted we'd have to pay for it. We refused, reminding her that we had clearly told her we don't eat pork, and she acknowledged it. She then began arguing and said she was 15 years old, pregnant, and that we were causing her stress. I offered to speak to the other waitress, who was standing nearby, but she said, "That's my sister. If you talk to her, you talk to me." Hoping her sister would help de-escalate the situation, I explained everything, but her sister blamed us for choosing the wrong dish. I pointed out that, as employees, they should know the menu better assist customers. The sister admitted she didn't know the menu well and accused us of being rude, telling us to calm down. A few minutes later, the woman who initially greeted us came over and said, "I heard there was an issue with your order." We explained the situation and told her that "waitress" is at fault here, and she corrected us by saying the waitress was her daughter. She also mentioned her daughter was pregnant and didn't deserve the stress we were causing. She claimed to have reviewed the video footage and insisted we ordered the dish with pork. We acknowledged we may have, but emphasized we had made it clear we don't eat pork, and it was their responsibility to inform us. She then threatened to call the police, and when I tried to record the conversation, she told me I couldn't without her consent. Not wanting to escalate things, I stopped recording. However, when she continued threatening to call the police, we encouraged her to go ahead. She then said the police officer she was calling was her brother, making this feel like a family issue. At the end, we advised her to review the entire video so she knows that her daughter is at fault. I went in the back and didn't come until we leave, I guess the video sets us free. :) I have never seen or been in an establishment that doesn't care about its customers. read more

We truly love dining here. My fiancé moved down to the area before I did and frequented this restaurant. When I arrived, he immediately brought me here. Their garlic bread with cheese is truly great! I tend to get their spaghetti and meatballs, which is delicious and filling. Ryan can't resist their chicken parm, he gets it every time. When we dine in person, we get their dessert ice cream, which is a nice way to finish off the meal. The service is always quick and attentive and we truly do like the food. Yesterday we invited 20 family/friends to celebrate a milestone birthday at Vicino's. The staff was lovely and each dish was perfect from grilled fish, fried calamari, mussels, pizza, calzone, salads, subs and so many other choices! If you arrive as a stranger, you will leave as a friend. The restaurant is quiet and the heartfelt accolades could be heard by everyone. One server brought out some chocolate ice cream for a toddler who was ready for the cake while the adults finished up their entrees. The portions are generous! The food was good, especially for the price! The evening ended up with me and my friend getting kicked out of the restaurant by a hot-headed waitress before we even had a chance to pay. Thank you for saving me 35 bucks! Service was not so great. It took about half an hour to get the food we ordered, and then the appetizer came out at the same time as the entrees. Nobody checked on us after the food was finally delivered, even though we might have asked for some condiments if we had been given the chance. Time was getting tight, and I just wanted to pay and leave so I could get to a performance. I finally stood up to hunt down a member of the waitstaff, because I couldn't catch their attention when they were running to other tables, so that I could request the check. There was a performance we wanted to get to, and we still were going to make it with an acceptable time margin if we could leave within the next few minutes. All I wanted was the check so that I could pay and get out of there. Instead, they brought out complimentary ice cream. No, I want to pay and leave! I rejected the ice cream, because I had asked for the check, and they didn't listen and sent out ice cream instead. Then the hot-headed waitress-owner-cop comes out, claims that we are on video cursing out her teen waitress, and that she's going to press charges (or something), because apparently she's a cop, too. She is escalating this, because all I wanted was to get the check so I could pay it and get out. I'm not leaving yet because I am not in the habit of stiffing restaurants, so I'm taking her verbal abuse while repeatedly asking for the check until she orders us out of the restaurant and says we don't have to pay, while filming us on her smartphone. (By the way, we did not give permission to be filmed, so that's illegal.) And then she curses us in Spanish as we leave. Whatever, lady. Thanks for the free meal! And if you really are the owner of the restaurant and a cop, may I suggest that you rethink your career choices in both the hospitality and law enforcement industries. With your way of escalating conflict, you are not going to find success over the long term in either arena unless you take anger management classes and take them to heart. So, customers beware! You might be in for a spicy tirade if you don't toe the line of the waitstaff's excuses for crummy service! But the jackpot could be a free meal, so decide if you want to play! read more
