Great location, walking distance to the city, restaurants and free shuttles. Great site condition, nice indoor swimming pool with hot tub. The only issue is that they building a new hospital next to the park and during weekdays the work starts at 6 am and it's very loud ( not the campground to blame ) but if you can choose site far from the north side it'll be better for you. read more

June 17th was my 60th birthday and I planned a 5 day road trip up Highway 395 with my dog Frankie. I car camped in Lone Pine, Tom's Place and Mammoth Lakes. I knew about Mammoth Mountain RV Park from a Caltech Geobiology trip I was on in 2021 and 2022. The Mammoth Loop Trail passes right through the park, so when I was planning for this trip I remembered the RV park. I like that it's walking distance to everyplace in Mammoth, shops, restaurants and their great breweries. I camped here for 2 nights. They have showers, bathrooms, laundry room, a pool and jacuzzi. I only took advantage of the showers and of course the bathroom during my stay. The place was packed and completely booked. I made my reservations in January. There were a lot of kids near my site but they were well behaved. They have a 10 pm quite time and during my time everyone abided by that. I had great sleep during my two nights and it was really quite at night. They also sold ice and firewood. Will I return? Yes, I'm already thinking about another road trip next summer. read more

Mammoth has many lodging options from very expensive house rentals, cabins , campgrounds . We have stayed here many times over the years. Sometimes as a base camp, sometimes with the kids when they were younger to experience tent camping . The staff is friendly especially the lady in the front office super chill, and just great calm energy. There is a pool area mailnly for the kids don't expect a quiet adult pool experience. The showers are amazing the water pressure and hot water feels amazing after a long day hiking , fishing biking . We stayed 5 nights this time dry camping . Other times we have done full hookups just depends what you bring. Camp sites are clean and spacious. Our last night there was fun karaoke nice opportunity to meet fellow campers. Overall great place that is safe, close to downtown, kid friendly, pet friendly. read more

Stayed here 7/19-7/24/26 Made our reservation 6 months in advance per what we were told was policy. Got the worst site in the park, and were told this was the only site available. Park is a verb, not a noun. Poor customer service, don't answer phone or emails. Pricey for what you get. Closed for 1 hour at lunch time, so if you need help, you're out of luck. Sites are back in, looking into neighbor's rear window and close together. Sites are gravel parking lots. Facility is in a pine forest, unless you're one of the unlucky ones like us who were assigned a site next to the restrooms, Dumpster, and propane tank, no shade, could not open shades at night to get fresh air due to restroom lights shining into window and into our faces as we tried to sleep. Our view on the other side was electrical wiring. Our site was a freeway for campers on their way to restrooms. Not peaceful. 5 MPH speed limit was not observed or enforced for motorized vehicles, bicycles, or e-bikes. 7/23, several campers howled, hollered, and screamed until 3:00 A. M. Nothing was done about it. Need to know: Black ant hills everywhere. Black ants bite. Loud trash truck comes into facility every morning at 7:30. Daytime road noise. Restrooms are a hike. Good location, amenities like pool, playground, and laundry. Only used laundry. 2 dryers out of order. Not coming back. Mammoth Lakes used to be a quaint, charming fun place to visit. Not anymore, since big business corporations have come in and ruined it. Horribly crowded in summer. read more

Not sure why there's so many negative reviews. We went for the first time and had a great time. We were in Spot 215 which was next to the restroom / showers. Larger spot. Not near the road or on the other side where there's no sewer hookup which is by some buildings. The tent sites were in front of us. Those seemed nice. But beware there's an electrical box in the middle. There's also more tent sites that's not shown on the map. Those are really nice. But towards the back is a neighborhood and elementary school. The camp hosts were nice. They kept the campground really clean. We will be staying there again. read more

We stayed at Mammoth Mountain RV Park during a winter storm, and it was a lifesaver! The night before, we were boondocking near June Lake when one of our tire chains broke, leaving us stuck in deep snow. My husband spent half the day digging us out with a mini shovel before a kind plow truck driver came to our rescue. After finally making it to the Shell station at the 158 and 395 intersection, we found out the highway was closed and ended up waiting for several hours. Desperate for a safe place to stay, we called MMRV. Over the phone, my husband misheard and thought they had availability that night, so once the roads reopened around 6 PM, we made the treacherous 1.5-hour drive through a full-on blizzard to get there. Upon arrival, we left a message, and Elizabeth texted back asking if we had a reservation--which we didn't. Unfortunately, she clarified that they were actually booked for the night but had availability the following day. My husband explained our situation, emphasizing that we had a baby in the car and couldn't risk driving further in the dark. Elizabeth responded, "Let me see what I can do..." and next thing we knew, Jaime was out there plowing a spot just for us. Not only did Jaime clear a space for us, but when he saw my husband struggling to shovel out our car with a tiny shovel, he kindly offered his larger shovel to help! It was such a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that made a huge difference. Originally, we planned to stay just one night, but we extended to two because of how well-maintained and convenient the campground was. The location is perfect, and the amenities are great--hot showers, clean bathrooms, free drinking water, an indoor pool and jacuzzi (which we didn't use), and laundry facilities ($2.50-$3 per wash and dry, with soap, bleach, and dryer sheets available for purchase). The only minor issue was that our electricity hookup wasn't working, but it wasn't a problem since our teardrop trailer has solar power. Overall, we loved our stay at MMRV and can't recommend it enough--especially for winter travelers. Huge thanks to Elizabeth and Jaime for their kindness and hospitality! read more

This place is great - we've stayed here for years. The full hookup sites are awesome, location near town is great, and yet you don't feel like you're in town. The staff is friendly and helpful. Be aware that partial hookup spots are on asphalt and feel like a parking lot, but that's because they're open year round. Great option if you are winter camping/ skiing. We booked the partial hookup site #41. (All the full hookup sites were full). Don't book #41. The tiny fire pit is "far" away amongst some weeds. Other fire pits were located appropriately. Biggest disappointment was the filthy showers and once the hot water ran out in the middle of showering. The laundry room was great. We didn't use the pool or hot tub. Site 41 was on an old parking lot -no trees, just some weedy looking shrubs and dirt. Will not return to this park. read more

We really enjoyed our weekend here. Our spot was Amazing 203 full hook ups surrounded by tall evergreens. Short bike ride or walk into town. Free trolly can pick you up across the street at the visitors center and takes the loop through town. Dogs must wear a muzzle !!!! Fall is the best time when leaves change and not to cold or crowded. We camped for fathers Day weekend 6.17-20.21 Tried booking in April but all the RV Hook ups were already all unavailable. This Rv Park is a mixture of RV & tent camp grounds available. It's right in the beginning when you enter Mammoth Lakes. Can't miss it. Lots of amenities including a pool available. There is a restroom with individual rooms included with sink, toilet & shower if privacy is wanted near the sink area to wash items/dishes. It's clean every morning. So it's pretty clean. They have sink where there are 2 double sink available. For your convenience. One star deducted for it being so dusty for the non pave dirt road. Per mine and my husband rating for this park. I mean what do you expect for outdoor camping. We did encounter a bear visit on Saturday morning on our camp site. Besides everything else. There is no other complaint. I wish there was a 0 stars. Do not stay here! Campsites are literally on asphalt with a tiny patch of dirt. Ours was right up against 2 huge propane tanks. Table was tiny, fire pit was just a circle of rocks. We were awakened at 6 am to nearby construction ( right across the street). NO warning about this on the website. Staff were rude. Been coming here for 8 years and the service is awful. Almost non-existent. They have horrible attitudes and get mad at YOU because they don't answer the phone or return messages AT ALL. How do you expect a smooth transaction when you refuse to even communicate with your customers? Absolutely, abhorrently rude woman called me out of the blue tonight telling me I need to pay in cash from now on because I disputed charges last year AFTER I CANCELLED WITH THEM due to road conditions. Of course I disputed the charges. I cancelled. I called. I emailed. You guys don't exist when it comes to customer service. I don't know how many times I had to tell this lady -- You can have the $109 you're crying about. Zero issue to me. Take it. "No, you're going to bring it in cash, and you're paying in cash from now on" lol, i'm really not. No wonder no one goes to this place anymore and they had to double their rates. We arrived to Mammoth Mtn RV park and were so disappointed. Our space was a parking spot on asphalt with a small dirt patch with weeds that was set behind the trailer. Thank goodness I had cancelled additional days there. At 6am the jackhammers and tractors started up next door. There was no notification on the website that advised you that there would be non-stop construction noise. In addition, it was the most expensive place that I booked and the absolute worst RV place that we stayed on our trip. Skip this place, go down to McGee Creek RV instead. read more

Although, I can't rate this Rv park for a nights visit I can say this is where we come on our way into the wild. We always come on the way in to fill up on water tank and or dump both tanks on the way out with ease. The park itself is always full and the staff is friendly. The different stations are easily marked unlike other locations we have been to. For a small price it has been out go to before submerging away from the hustle and bustle of life where the bear run wild and the stars shine bright. Can't wait until my next adventure! read more

Is there actually an employee here at this park? Neon sign on door says "open" but I never saw an employee in the office the whole time. Do they really sell propane as the sign says? We ran out of propane and they have a sign saying we sell propane. But the sign on the door was either we don't work these days or we are gone. Finally called the number and was not told if they do or not. Was just told where I can get it in town. When you reserve your spot there is no real way to choose your spot. We ended up in a parking lot. Literally a parking lot for how much a night? Yeah I get it. Everything else is booked so we had to stay here as we were helping one of our children resupply on the pct. Beware. Terrible customer service. Terrible absentee staff. They are the only game in town and they know it. I obtained my reservation 6 months in advance. I showed up exactly at 2p per the rules. Upon arrival a note says the office will be closed due to jury duty. The phone number to call goes unanswered for an hour. A little senior lady volunteer, presumably the employees mother, with evident signs of dementia shows up and tries to help but can't solve any questions. She gets frustrated and begins to cry easily. So cruel to put her that situation. Elizabeth finally called hours later from a remote location stating she could check Us in finally but we were 2 hours down the road. No apology, no refund, no credit even when it was there fault. We were scrambling to make other arrangements last minute. We will not be back. BTW even at their best, they never answer the phone you must email them. Horrible service. Avoid them. read more

We absolutely loved this place. Clean bathrooms, reasonable laundry prices, and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The pool looked awesome but unfortunately was closed due to covid. I managed to lose my key before the office was open, I told them I could figure something out yet they still sent one out to make us a new key plus an extra, and they brought it to our site! The dump and water stations were helpful, and the campground is only 10 minutes from Mammoth mountain, with a Starbucks right down the street and groceries and restaurants within a mile or 2. This is the perfect place to stay if you like a more established campground, or if you're like us and you want a place to camp during winter and need the hookups for heat! Oh, and their WiFi actually worked decently for us! read more

Walmart parking lots have better views! Very slow time to visit. We were relegated to an un-level parking lot. No outdoor table or patch of grass. Just a parking space. Closer to the nearby business park than the RV park office. Though too close to the laundry where the vented scent of fabric softener was overwhelming. Shower control is a strange single button that needs to be pressed repeatedly to complete your shower...literally every 20 seconds. I timed it. I was a bit afraid of coming here after seeing all the negative reviews. I was actually blown away every step of the way. I checked in very late at 1am, and they had my key ready for me. We had a cabin and it was clean. It had linens, heater and a TV. I was not expecting this kind of accommodation. The bathrooms were clean as well as the pools. The lady who managed around the park was super friendly and a smile on her face every time I saw her. I did not experience anything the negative reviews had said. I definitely will come back. The only think that can be said about this RV Park is that it is convenient and has showers - especially in winter if you're a skier. If you like camping in a big parking lot lined up side by side then it'll be awesome for ya! Wish there were other alternatives to stay in your camper in town, adjacent to the ski shuttle but this seems to be the only spot. read more

Arrived Saturday June 1, 2017 @ 3:03pm. Check in is at 2pm. Before I begin let me say......that the office staff ladies are AMAZING and super sweet and nice. We love this place because of them. They answered so many of our questions about everything and helped us with reserving another spot that came open. I saw some reviews that said office staff wasn't nice. They were so nice and we were nice back. Got an RV spot for the July 4th Weekend at Mammoth Lakes. You pull right off the road into the camp ground and there's a main office towards the right and couple spots to park. At the main office they have: - ice - propane cylinder refills - odds and ends - firewood bundles - $8 Hershey bars...for real - Some small grocery items - Yeti stuff - shirts - bathrooms outside to the left. Office to the right and bathrooms to the left. - at the bathroom building to the left when you come in there's a spigot for drinking water and a dump station My husband went inside to check us in. Gorgeous weather and a good breeze thanks to the trees. By looking around here there seems to be lots of trees and shaded campsites (left side of RV park). We had a spot, that was basically to the right of the RV park, on concrete, like a parking lot, water, electric, but no sewer. We've done these before and thought it wouldn't be too awful. Our neighbor was parking his SUV and his tow sideways and backed his SUV towards our spot. So basically his tail pipe was blowing gas in our faces as we were sitting outside our RV under our awning and he was parking right up to our mat and a little over the parking spot line. We had to ask him to move up and for him to turn his vehicle around. He kept going into his trunk basically standing in our mat space under our awning and unloading stuff as he needed it. It was too difficult to tolerate, the spaces are too tight if you aren't there with a group and get a few sites. There was a cancellation at another spot that had full hook-ups and we were able to book, pay and book it to move. Pretty lucky on a busy weekend. ** Let me tell you that the office staff ladies are AMAZING and super sweet and nice. We love this place because of them. They answered so many of our questions about everything and helped us with reserving another spot that came open. The 2nd spot was PERFECT and we had sewer too. This made our trip so wonderful. It was on the left side of the RV park and it was shaded with gorgeous trees, it felt like we were really camping. PROS: - Love the staff. Super nice and helpful - Beautiful shaded areas are inviting and filled with trees - Amenities: indoor pool, basketball hoop, playground, hot showers, dish washing station, bathrooms, cable, laundry, store, dump station, full and partial hook-ups, lockers for tenters to keep food from bears, plenty of camp site space amongst the tree/wooded spots, pretty close to the village and town center. - WiFi - Great sites to book..... #201-249 CONS: - Non-wooded campsites aren't full hook ups - Non-wooded campsites are too close to one another, awkward street lamp posts should be at corners not on an actual site, we had one near us and it sucked for a bonfire - Campsites in non-wooded area has super hot asphalt due to little amount of trees and it stuck to the the fur on our dogs' feet, painful. - I wouldn't book sites...... #1-105 **Bottom Line: -- We would def camp here again but only to get the wooded area spots (#201-249). They are beautiful and the staff is super nice and helpful. -- When you call ask a lot of questions so you understand what they provide and don't provide so you can be prepared (You should do that for any campground b/c sometimes things make not work or get shut down) read more

We stayed here for a week at the end of Sept. and enjoyed our stay at Mammoth RV. We stayed in two spots because we extended our stay and had to move. Spot #210 and #244. With #210 being the better spot since there is a building one one side (no neighbor) and nice views of the trees in the tent area. As far as the location there are good and bad things. The Good: 1. Great location -Walking distance to town and close to a lot of attractions like Devils Postpile, June Lake, Mono Lake, Convict Lake and more. 2. Clean campground- the sites and grounds are maintained well and bathrooms are clean. 3. The restrooms at the back of the park have 4 private full bathrooms to take a shower in. 4. RV Sites are spacious with with full hookups, fire ring and picnic table. Some reviews say the spots are tight but I really don't know where they are staying because I've seen way smaller spots. 5. Beautiful trees all around, Indoor pool, Friendly staff. 6. Dog Friendly- makes it easy to take our fur babies with us. 7. Free cable tv and wifi. The Bad: 1. FRIDAY NIGHT HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL! The school is nearby and the game is SO LOUD! It was awful!!! 2. Road noise- It's right by the main road so you can hear cars all day and night. It wasn't too loud, it just took away from the experience. 3. Walking path- it goes right by the RV park so you see frequent foot traffic. 4. The showers in the back of the park have scalding hot water and per the staff they haven't been able to fix it. I used the last room and could tolerate that one, but not the 3rd room. Scorch! I'm sure there are other places deeper in nature to stay but we appreciate having full hookups and I like being close to everything. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would come again...as long as it's not High School football season!! read more

Just a small incident that happened to us last month. We made a reservation and had to call back the next day to push it forward as we got the dates wrong, we were charged $25 per change this was only the beginning of the excess of charges and the non return of our deposit. Mind you, we have been going to the park for over 25 years and consider it our second home when we travel to Mammoth. Just an fyi for all of you, there cancellation policies have changed and they have a 14 day policy. They kept over $500 of our money because we were forced to cancel due to an emergency with our dog. We tried endlessly to get them to push our trip to a more convenient time but with no luck. In the future we will stay with Mammoth Mountain facilities. They were more than willing to give us extra time for our reservations. read more

This place is awesome. Not sure why all the negative comments regarding the front desk staff. My review is for the cabin. Cabin was clean when we checked in around 6pm. I immediately opened all the windows to allow fresh air in and let any Covid particles out. The beds have mattress protectors on them, I also brought my own linens. Our cabin, cabin #1 did not have a table inside as described however we'd brought our own so it worked out. There is one outlet in the cabin, near the door. The light fixture is quite high and can be kind of dim on dark days and at night. Fire pit was clean, had no problem getting wood from local stores and front office. There are two plastic Adirondack chairs on the front porch and ample space to spread out. We stayed during the week and come Friday, tent campers began moving in all around us. We were glad we were leaving. The bathrooms can get pretty muddy towards 2pm and there are only 4 shower-toilet combos so if you have to pee and people are showering, you wait it out. Bathrooms are cleaned every am roughly around 8a which was so silly and inconvenient considering most people wake up around that time. Key cards are required for restrooms at night, probably to keep bears out. And bears are definitely around! Saw one trying to paw into our food locker around 4am. This cabin is surrounded by trees, there is only one other cabin on site. Bathrooms are maybe 100 ft away. You will have to walk through another two RV sites but it can be done with grace and friendliness. We camped for several days during Covid in July and no amenities were available but you're in Mammoth, you can find something to do. Nice biking around the RV park as well. We've already booked our return trips, can't wait to go back. read more

Wow! What an incredible experience we had as our 1st time here with our Rainbow RV Group. Elizabeth and Jaime who run the RV park couldnt have been more accommodating to our group. They went above and beyond to make our experience the most enjoyable time we have experienced at any RV park we have stayed at............The RV park has an old fashion rustic feel like your camping outdoors but only thing you have the luxury of full hookups camping between tall majestic pine trees. They provide each rv site in the full hookup area with a fire pit and your own picnic table; they also have shower facilities and stainless steel sink area to clean your fishing catches for the day. The park is centrally located to all the Lakes, and they have a local free trolley system for you to board to take you to all the lakes...........The RV park does have an area where rv sites are only pavement sites that dont have quite the ambiance that the full hookups sites do...........The full hookup sites are level dirt sites and I do recommend laying down a patio mat to lesson the dirt getting into your rig or travel trailer. read more

This place is SO junky! I can't believe it even has 3 stars! It is NOT AN RV PARK it is a PARKING LOT!! Literally parking stall after parking stall on black top pavement that has a million cracks and they don't even clean the sites between customers so there was beer bottle caps all over our site and one of them popped my son's bike tire, as in a complete huge hole in it, which will cost us $20 to replace. Yes there is a pool and hottub but it is so nasty and brown on the bottom, like a poop brown color and the water is super murky and dirty...the "picnic table" is a joke...its like 1/3 of the size of a picnic table...the fire pit is right next to the slide out...who wants to have a fire right next to their RV...there are SO many better places to stay than a PARKING LOT!!! SO CHEAPO AND JUNKY!! RIPPING PEOPLE OFF FOR A TERRIBLE "CAMPING" EXPERIENCE...money hungry Californians...ugh NEVER AGAIN thank goodness we are only here 1 night!!
