Nice place for an unplanned stop. If you come in after hours they have a board that lists available sites. NOTE - they ONLY take cash or check. No cash apps, no credit card. That alone may turn you away. Our site was near the entrance with water and electricity hook ups. The grounds are simple, lots of trees to keep shady, though the trees are an obstruction for any satellite connections you may use. The sites are small, and a little tight. There are public restrooms that are spacious and clean. We didn't use the public showers. Overall a good place to stay - recommend an interior site as the park is off the main road, our site near the entrance had a lot of traffic noise. read more

I have lost sleep about writing this review. As a Yelp Elite, I try to focus on the positive but our Mono Vista RV Park experience left a bad taste in my mouth. First off, we are kind travelers. We are military. We are quiet. We park our RV and relax. In my summation, we are great people to have in an RV park. No pets. No kids. No drama. When we arrived at the park, we were assigned our numbers. We were traveling with our dear friends. As we were backing in, a man on a golf cart asked us, "Why are you up here?" I replied, "This is the spot the lady in the office gave us." He retorted something that was inaudible. We didn't just pick a spot, because if we had this wouldn't have been it. The next man drove up on a golf cart shaking his finger at us. The other man proceeded to say something about being in the ruts and to let the driver know to stay in the ruts. When we were set up, there was dog excrement in the area where we were going to eat. I asked the man on one of the golf carts if it was our responsibility to clean the area. We do not own dogs. He acted like I asked him to build a completely new RV park. He was impertinent and upset with my question. The people we were traveling with didn't have water in their RV. They had planned on using the showers and the bathrooms. Due to a maintenance issue, the bathrooms and showers did not work. I know this is not the park's fault. I feel, though, something should have been posted on the website to let the public know. We definitely would have made other arrangements. On the positive side, there are great pull-throughs when you first enter the park. If you are staying here, please try to request one of those. Mono Vista RV Park has the potential to be amazing. The location is wonderful - Yosemite, lakes abound to include Mono Lake, darling town. Fun ice cream shop. If rude customer service doesn't bother you, Mono Vista RV Park will suffice for your stay. read more

Disappointing Stay at Mono Vista RV Park - Not Worth the Hassle My husband and I visited Yosemite for the first time in July 2025, staying for eight days to celebrate his birthday. We were excited about the trip, but our experience at this RV park left much to be desired. While the location near Yosemite is a plus, the park's management, facilities, and overall atmosphere made it an uncomfortable and somewhat frustrating stay. We won't be returning. Upon arrival, we were informed that the facility is cash-only--no credit or debit cards accepted. This wasn't an issue for us since we carry cash on vacations, but it's something potential visitors should know in advance, especially if you prefer tracking expenses through your bank statements. Check-in was straight-forward but lacked warmth. The older woman at the office was polite enough to get us settled and process our full cash payment, but she wasn't particularly welcoming. Again, not a huge deal but a welcome to the park, add in a few suggestions of where to eat locally etc would be nice. The sites themselves are quite small, some are downright tiny, which can feel cramped for larger RVs like our fifth wheel. The grounds are fairly well-maintained, though the picnic tables are dated and peeling paint, and we noticed scattered trash in a few spots. Given the bear activity in the area, the park enforces a reasonable no-food-left-out policy, which we appreciated. However, we observed tent campers disregarding this by leaving items out periodically during their stay. Interestingly, part of the park features permanent single-wide trailer homes, adding a unique and somewhat mismatched vibe. Camp sites are 30 amp so bring your converter cords. What particularly soured our experience was the cliquey, unwelcoming atmosphere among some regulars and staff. On one occasion, a neighboring camper (whom I'll call "Mrs. Karen") aggressively confronted the family in the site between us over their truck parking slightly askew, claiming the bumper obstructed her view from her pop-up tent. She berated them in front of their two young children and threatened to involve the office. Within moments, a staff member sped over in a golf cart, yelling accusations without even asking or hearing the full story. The man was just searching for his keys to adjust the truck, but the staffer immediately threatened eviction. It was rude, unprofessional, and made many of us uncomfortable. "Mrs. Karen" then sent someone from her group to confront us, asking if we had a problem--even though it had nothing to do with our camping site. Thankfully, most other campers were friendly and polite; one even offered the affected family an alternative parking spot in his space. But incidents like this highlighted what seems to possibly be favoritism toward regulars or friends. This bias became evident again on our fourth day when the same golf cart staffer demanded we move our truck (parked right next to our camper) to make room for a "dry camper." We complied immediately, relocating to the front of our site, which jutted into the roadway a bit. But no dry camper ever arrived--instead, a regular from another RV parked his personal truck there and left it for the rest of our stay. It felt like we were possibly somewhat displaced to accommodate others. The park's overall condition is fair. Their cleaning practice is simple, it doesn't seem to be regular deep cleaning. The sprinkler system is oddly makeshift, with above-ground hoses that staff attach and activate sporadically. This often results in water spraying into sites, onto vehicles, or belongings. Just be prepared to possibly move things around. The bathrooms were disappointing. Outdated lighting with several bulbs out, stained and old toilet seats, and signs of long-deferred maintenance. The showers were neglected and in disrepair, making them unappealing to use. Worse, windows above each toilet stall are left open for ventilation, but they're right next to a walking path where passersby can easily look in which could be a major privacy issue. The laundry room was relatively tidy, but at least two washers were out of order, and we spotted discarded underwear on a windowsill that should have been cleared away. On a neutral note, the area is quite windy, which isn't the park's fault but can make outdoor activities like card games challenging (though it's pleasant for reading). In summary, this RV park falls short in hospitality, maintenance, and fairness. There are plenty of other friendly, well-run options outside of Yosemite with polite staff and perhaps better facilities. We had high hopes for a relaxing birthday getaway, but this wasn't it. Safe travels to fellow campers--choose wisely! read more

This is a nice RV Park and location is right outside the East entrance to Yosemite. There is a lot of shade scattered about the RV Park. There is a large restroom with 4 stalls on the women's side. The showers are clean but a little dated. Some mildew. Showers take tokens that you need to get from the office if you want hot water. Each token gives you 5 mins of hot water. Bring your own shampoo and soaps. Shower #5 was leaking water out into the hallway when we were there. There is a soda vending machine outside the restroom and a laundry room next door. One downside is the horrible tent camping sites. There is no flat ground where the tents are and minimum shade. We were all sliding down the hill every night. There is dog poop all over the group site where we were. read more

We've been coming to Mono Vista RV Park for years for showers on our yearly camping trip and sadly, the experience keeps getting worse. The woman working the front counter is consistently rude, and this year was no exception. She accused us of blocking traffic, even though there wasn't a single vehicle coming through and we were clearly pulled off to the side. Meanwhile, someone was literally washing their car in the designated shower parking spot--and that was somehow okay? Her attitude is incredibly unwelcoming and inconsiderate. If you're going to offer showers to guests, maybe treat them with a little respect. Mono vista rv park located very close to Mono lake in Lee Vining Ca is a nice place to stay. Very convenient to drive into Yosemite from and if you are in the right spots you get a beautiful view of Mono Lake. Yes it's true they don't accept credit cards. Cash or check only. Most of the sites have a shade tree and patch of grass. When dealing with the office help try to talk to the older woman she's very pleasant and helpful. The younger one was either having a bad day or needs more customer service training. Be sure you get your shower tokens when checking in! read more

This campground was so exceptional that we extended our stay. The grounds were well maintained with nice green grass and plenty of trees. The management spaced out the guests, but even the couple of days with a neighbor in the space next to us we never felt cramped. The staff worked every day keeping the facility nice. My wife and I were most impressed with how clean the bathroom and shower areas were. I've stayed in hotels that were not as clean. Okay, it can't be perfect, so here it is. We didn't see a bear, but he left us a present at the back of the trailer. And no, I didn't check to see what he'd been eating. Thanks to all at Mono Vista. We had a great vacation with Mono Vista as our home base. There is so much beauty in the Sierras. My original post was under a SM, which is not me. I had the pleasure of staying here one night in my little Prius. After backpacking in Mammoth Lakes for a few days I had to drive back to the Bay Area on the 120 but didn't want to do it in the dark. I just needed a shower and a place to sleep in my car. This place was perfect. It's clean and safe. Can't beet the price. For $27 I got a nice grassy spot where if I wanted I could set up my tent, a table and lil grill to BBQ and 2 tokens for a hot shower that you can take anytime. ( Public showers are only 9-5pm) It has a great view of the mountains. I would definitely stay there again. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but I think I should do that for this park. Our stay there was nothing short of terrible. They have a cash only policy, which is their right as owners of a business, I guess; but claiming to have good wifi and being dog friendly are not truthful claims. When we arrived, my wife completed the check in. She asked for the wifi password and was told directly by the attendant, it was "spotty" and that it's best to use your own. The grounds are old and stuck in the middle of an old school permanent trailer park. There are no views. To top it off the first morning of our stay a man in a golf cart drove up to me as I was leaving the camper and demanded I leash our 16 yr. old dachshund and 2yr old Gloden Retriever immediately. No "good morning", (something I said to him) "Thank you" or "Goodbye" and rode off. I was stunned... What a way to address paying guests. I'm not thin skinned and can take criticism as well as the next guy but come on. read more

Found this place on Guthook after completing the JMT. We were looking to kick our feet up and just relax. When we first arrived the staff treated us like a burden. Affordable stay, laundry, & public showers. Grass campsite. Rude and irresponsible owners. No dumpster or bear lockers and final garbage pick up at 4pm. We are here for 3 nights in site #13. The bathrooms are immaculate as are the the grounds. Sites have enough room. Great location to see the sites such as Bodie, Mono Lake and Mammoth Lakes. Right now the forests are closed for two weeks and there's still plenty to do. Mono Cone is an easy 3 minute walk. Very quiet and relaxing. The front desk was very friendly. Definitely will be booking here again. Update: Two out of three nights, there was night visits by a bear. It just turned over the trash can by laundry room both nights and left huge pile of scat. The park does empty all trash at 4:00 p.m. daily. The grounds are cleaned every day throughly. They ask that you not put trash in them until the next day. Stayed here to escape the pandemic madness of the big city. Since this RV park is privately owned we were able to call in and book two nights here. There were showers and clean restrooms. This spot is right off the main hwy but it was quiet. Check out the backdrop of the tent sites! Fires are not allowed, which was kind of a bummer but not a deal breaker. It's a good place to lay your head, take a shower and head out to the local lakes and streams. read more

The campground itself was fine, but there were bears two nights in a row and no precautions were taken at all. They did not tell us to put up our food at night and did not have bear bins and did not seem to care at all about the bears. This is known bear country and not taking care to keep the bears and their customers safe is highly irresponsible. read more

I should state- we don't feel the need to own an RV the size of an apartment building, we're camping, not spending time inside a mobile home or sorts, so we had plenty of room to stretch out and relax. Nice lawn area with a picnic bench and a view of Mono Lake. *We were overjoyed with how quiet the place was. Such a pleasant change from those that feel the need to camp..... and let everyone know they're camping. No obnoxious TV's on the outside of RV's playing (believe it or not, no one else cares to watch your tv). Only reviewing the reservation system. They don't take credit or debit cards, so you have to pay in cash or check. But, to make a reservation you have to snail mail them a check for your first night stay, then your reservation is confirmed. So now, I gotta find the check book, an envelope and a stamp. "Gateway to Yosemite" is absolutely true. This, our second visit to the RV Park, and we didn't even need to contend with Yosemite crowds inside the park proper. We hiked, kayaked and rode our bikes outside of the park and we had a blast. So location is amazing... Here are a couple of gripes. There is no WiFi to speak of unless you are within 50 ft of the office. Our data usage was outrageous the week we were there. Some might say you shouldn't care about WiFi while camping. Fair argument, but if a business advertises that they have something, they should. I reserved my spot for July 4th on the day they started taking reservations in March and ended up with a full hookup end spot #45. Don't choose this spot unless you have exhibitionist tendencies. It is literally at one of two entrances/exits and all foot traffic to town sees what you're having for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and surprisingly some seemed quite interested in that). On the other hand, fake smiling to dozens of people a day may have prepared me to be a retail greeter in retirement. No hyperbole, we were accosted within 30 seconds upon opening the doors to our truck by a pair of overzealous geriatric twin brother groundskeepers bc we were looking for the chain to tie up our dog. They were rude and unwelcoming. When I explained I was locating the chain Twin 1 rolled his eyes at me. My impression of them did not change in the week we spent here. AND YET, an extremely aggressive lab lunged at two people near our camp and the twin enforcers were nowhere in sight. Hmm. So there you have it: 3 stars. Not sure if we'll be back though we had an amazing time exploring the area. A few too many negs may outweigh the location. read more

Our car needed to be fixed, and Lee Vining Auto recommended this place as it is just down the street from them. Our first time in an RV park, and we appreciated the grassy tent site and the opportunity to have a hot shower. My husband thought the front desk was curt, but they did let me recharge my phone for a couple of hours. The park is clean, the tent sites are located at the rear, with a view of the mountains. There are signs that warn you not to let your dog poop on the lawn, but there is a nearby site with potty bags and also a trail where you can take your pooch to do his/her business (and from the amount of leftover poop on the trail, it's no wonder they are paranoid about no pooping) Close to the freeway, but the traffic seems to quiet down about 10 p.m. and start up again around 6:00 a.m. read more

This was a quiet,extremely clean,multi rv/tent friendly place. Our friends stayed in a tent and we stayed in a full hook up spot. Beautiful grass in tent and rv spots. Nice dog park area for dogs that also offers clean fresh water. Little play area for kids. Our friends used shower and said it was spotless. The staff was very friendly. We will be back next year. One more thing,there were only a couple full time mobil homes there but in nice ,clean condition. They were staff. No creepy,longterm ,trashy RV's or trailers. read more

Drove 6-8 hours from socal to get here and got there at about 11:00AM, but she wouldn't let us check in early even though there was nobody in our spot because "that's the only time they can water," so we had to pull our rig and tow vehicle down the road and park and dick around for a couple hours. read more

I have only given this park 2 stars because the location is nice, the park is clean and well shaded with good facilities. However, I want to give it 0 stars for the following reasons: Upon arrival and checking in, the owner or manager was completely rude to another person in my party. This was our very first time at this park so not the best first impression. They put us in sites that were right next to the camp host house so every chance they got they were snooping around and complaining about our space, our dogs, or our "noise" or telling us they "received complaints" about us. It made it VERY uncomfortable to be outside or enjoy the camping experience. We had read reviews that they are not pet friendly or group friendly - this seems to be pretty accurate. We were a group of 11: 4 teenagers, 6 adults and 1 infant occupying 3 full hookup spaces and 2 tent spaces. We always felt like all eyes were on us. The groundskeeper was rude. His first encounter with us was that he "received a complaint" about our dogs barking - but we had no campers in the spaces around us. My dogs were in a kennel, they were not barking but did whine a couple of times while begging for food. The next time, my husband and I left to run errands and left our dogs in our trailer. But under the care of another party in our group who was parked next to us. They were checking in on them, walked them, and listening to make sure they didn't excessively bark. At some point they must have barked, we assume when a trailer moved in behind us. At that point the same guy knocked on our trailer and then walked into our other parties camp, complaining about us and our dogs. Then asked if they knew us. So, appears they will announce your business to whomever. When our party said they knew us and explained they were caring for the dogs, he proceeded to aggressively tell them that the dogs can't be left like that. Which caused them to go get our dogs and put them in their trailer. Our dogs are never completely left unattended. There is always someone in our party to stays behind to care for them. But I guess that's not good enough for this park. Then comes the icing on the cake. After our first few days, we loaded up and left to stay in Bridgeport for a couple of days so we didn't leave anything unattended and to prevent the drive back and forth. Knowing our sites were paid in full for the next couple of weeks and that this place offers no refunds for ANY reason - we assumed our sites were secure and left early in the morning. Upon arrival back at the camp a couple of days later, three members of our party discovered they had rented our spaces out to other campers. When the office was notified, they told us "oh we assumed you left and we don't give refunds." When they explained we just left for a couple of days, they were told, "well you could have said something to us." Our parties then demanded a refund but were initially denied. At that point it was explained that they double booked a fully paid for and reserved spot without notifying us and are now refusing to refund our monies for a service they can no longer provide. With that, the owner/manager was angry and yelled, "just give them their damn money, I am sick of them!!" And they provided partial refunds for our full hookup spots only. From our brief experience, this is what I observed: They are kind/respectful to the "Regulars." Most people just stopped in for 1-2 nights and left. The employees are rude. They are not pet friendly. They are not group friendly. read more
