I've been coming to Mammoth for over a year now. This is my go to place whenever I want a new tattoo. I always see Andrew, the shop owner, and he's fantastic. Andrew is so patient and answers every question I have about the design, placement, and size in a way that allows me to see the vision and also provide clarity when needed. Andrew is incredibly talented and can do any type of tattoo. I have also really appreciated how honest he is when I ask for feedback on what an idea would look like several years from now. I've had a few ideas of how I want tattoos to look and Andrew always gets the vision right on the first try. Andrew tends to be very available and is very speedy. I'm normally in and out within 30-45 min max. The pricing is also super reasonable. The vibe of the studio is great. The artists love to have fun and joke around with their clients and one another. My husband & I are SO HAPPY we chose Mammoth Tattoo for our anniversary tattoo! The overall vibe of the place is super cool. The walls are covered with flash art and we both chose pieces that were on their walls & in their flash books. I loved the music they had playing and the overall ambience of the place. The bathroom was clean & also well decorated. This entire place is very clean & well-organized. We were both tattooed by their apprentice Hannah. She's only been tattooing for 2 years and it is very evident that she has a very bright & fruitful future ahead of her! Aside from her tattoo skill, she is super nice, has great energy, and a great conversationalist! At no point during our time did I feel awkward or uncomfortable (which I tend to feel sometimes in social situations). She placed both of our stencils perfectly on the first attempt and made sure we were 100000% satisfied with it before starting the process. Before starting my tattoo, I told her about my nearly non-existent pain tolerance and advised her of what my tattoo safe word was lol. She is not heavy handed (no shade to artists that are heavy handed) and ensured to check-in with my husband & I periodically throughout the process to make sure we were both still doing okay. I've been very skeptical about getting a lady's face on my body since I've seen many botched faces but Hannah gave me the prettiest & cutest face I could've asked for! I've also seen plenty of botched American traditional eagle pieces and to say she NAILED IT is simply an understatement. My husband & I were both done in 4 hours and the price was extremely fair. We have already determined that we will be returning to her for our upcoming anniversary tattoos. Also, after the tattoo, Hannah offered us hot compresses. I've gotten tattooed at plenty of places in the past and have never had a hot compress. Let me tell you!!! The hot compress was life changing and felt like a nice warm hug on your tattoo. She informed us that it helped with the swelling & healing process and I can definitely tell a difference! I will never decline a hot compress moving forward haha. When we were there, we got to meet the other artist Andrew, who is also Hannah's mentor. He had great vibes & was a great conversationalist as well. We got to see his finished piece on someone else and it was DOPE! When we were done with our tattoos, she had Andrew look at both of them and received his seal of approval. Jacob did my first tattoo about a year ago and it turned out beautifully. It was such a pleasant experience that I went back about a week ago for two more tattoos. I'm so sorry that I did because Jacob made me feel like I was inconveniencing him when I showed up to discuss the designs I wanted. When I got there Jacob made a sketch of my left leg. The sketch of my leg was lumpy. I don't know if that is standard but I feel that it was rude, sexist. As Jacob was sketching my leg another male tattoo artist asked me if I "liked" getting tattoos. I was very surprised by this question because I didn't understand what he was getting at. After tracing the outline of my leg Jacob gave me a quote of $250 without even showing me the design. I left so disappointed but I agreed to come back during the weekend to see the design and get my tattoos. During the week I decided to also have a tattoo of a heart on the back of my neck. I emailed Jacob asking him to design the heart and add the cost to my quote. I never heard back from Jacob. Rude and unprofessional! I am so embarrassed and upset by the treatment I received. I plan to skip my appointment and seek service elsewhere. read more

To start, I love my tattoo! Came here on a Friday the 13th around 6 and I didn't have to wait long before we got started. Mason did my tattoo and did an awesome job! I got a rose on my hip/stomach and he thanked me multiple times for being so good at not twitching around. Seriously, one of the most painful areas. The design is classic, it's beautiful. Not a huge piece but with the extra colors it is a bit more than most of my tattoos. Everyone who was in there at the time seemed really cool, friendly and personable. I just walked into this place and was pretty excited to have a new shop close by. Pretty disappointed. The guy behind the counter seemed to be more excited by his flash game than the fact that a potential customer had walked in. They don't have much flash. The portfolio books are pretty meh. I know these are just first impressions and maybe these guys are super cool but if I'm trusting someone with marking my body for life these kids are going to do a little better on the "first impression" category. read more

The guy that did my tattoo was jacob, he was just too heavy handed my arm looks like its recovering from a third degree burn. Went in to Mammoth tattoo today, been planning a piece for many years, and kinda decided on a whim to go get it. I was a walk-in and got a semi-simple piece on my back. And was able to have the artist research and draw up the design I wanted on the spot. Jacob was the artist who did it, and I am pleased with my ink. Small shop, with decent prices. My boyfriend and I went in on August 7th to set up appointments for each of us for the 12th. We were asked for an $80 non-refundable deposit to hold our appointments. That's fine and totally acceptable. One of the artists was there but didn't bother to look at what we wanted and give an estimate for whichever tattoo they were going to be doing. We were told that the artists would go over the size and process and everything when we came back for our appointments on Sunday. We arrived early so that we could go over the art with our artists. After figuring out the proper sizes and placement we went right into tattooing. No estimate was given. I will take part of the blame for not asking. That's on me. I just got caught up in it and went with it and didn't think to ask for the estimate I assumed I would get. After all of the tattooing was done they wanted more money. I got 2 small about 2" tattoos that are very simple outlines with no fill. One behind each ear. The artist worked on me for about 30 minutes. That's including placing the tattoos. I was charged an additional $70 for a grand total of $150. My boyfriend's tattoo is about 4-5", solid black, no detail, and took about 30 minutes MAYBE 40 minutes. He was charged a total of $180. We didn't bring enough money so we had to go to an ATM. On the way I told my boyfriend "if I was a dishonest person I would just leave. I wouldn't give them more money. This doesn't seem right." The artwork is great and the lines are perfect. I'm not complaining about the tattoos. They look amazing. What I'm complaining about is the lack of estimation and the fact that it was so expensive. The artists didn't understand my confusion when they asked for so much money. I have (now) 14 tattoos, have been to multiple tattoo shops (across western Washington, Oregon, and Florida), and have a couple friends in the business. I know a thing or two about tattoos and tattooing. I have never had an experience like this before. Yes, I'll take partial blame for not asking for an estimate when they didn't give one. To be fair though, if I did get an estimate and they said it was going to cost $150 for me, I'd feel forced into doing it cause I will have already given them $80 that I would never get back. I'd have to go with it. I'd hate to see what their hourly is if they charge $150-$180 for 30ish minute tattoos. I will not be going back to Mammoth and I have told all of my friends and family members about this experience and to not go. All of them told us we were robbed and agree that it isn't a good place to get tattooed. If you choose to go there make sure you get an estimate ahead of time. read more

THE GOOD: Very clean nice and brand new was the primary reason I went to Mammoth tattoo. Did some research online about the artists and really liked what I saw. Although, for not getting what I wanted I will say it still looks good! He clearly did a QUALITY job with the color and shading plus spent a lot of time on the detailing. THE BAD: The artist Jamie was very nice and welcoming but was almost set on what HE wanted my tattoo to look like -not what I wanted ( I should have just walked away). I got a tattoo at Mammoth from Andrew about a month ago. I'm from Washington State originally but I live in New York. I get so many amazing compliments on my tattoo and I am so happy with it. It couldn't have turned out better! I asked for a really complicated intricate design, and its executed perfectly. The shading is gorgeous, the linework is completely clean, and its exactly what I described. I asked for it to look like an antique stock etching and it absolutely does. I was especially impressed because what I asked for is so different and specific, and they made sure I got exactly what I wanted. Also, the guys in the shop are really cool and friendly. I had a great time talking to Andrew, he's clearly a passionate and intelligent artist and my experience getting tattooed with him was entirely positive. I was nervous about getting the design done, and originally asked for just the outline to start. By the time we finished the outline I ended up trusting Andrew enough to just let him do what he thought would look best and its like he read my mind. It's so perfect! Got a tattoo there a couple months ago Jamie did it and he was pretty cool, not really the most fun place to go everyone's a little too cool for school ( I'll admit I'm in my 50''s) but jeez lighten up! So I've gone in twice to get a touch up, it needs about an inch of purple colored in cuz it just didn't take. First time 4 weeks later it wasn't healed enough they said so fine. I go in today and Jamie's not there so I show this young pup my tat on my foot, which I lifted up and put on his leg ( 10 min after pedicure ) and he said he couldn't ad the purple for me and to never put my foot on his leg again! whatever..... then he just got ruder and more disrespectful! Great Overall Experience!! Peter Falcone was the artist I chose for a left arm gypsy piece with roses. He banged out the huge outline in one 3 hour session, then finished out the color and shading in a second 3 hour session. The final product was more than what I ever anticipated, and Pete is a pretty kick ass guy!! He sat down with me, and I gave him the core stuff I wanted to incorporate in my piece, then pretty much gave him artistic freedom on the rest. He had a sketch drawn up two days later, I came in to take a look, instantly fell in love with his vision, and BOOM...went to work on my left arm the next day. The shop was super clean, great vibe, and the rest of the staff there rocks. And MUCH more affordable/fair on their prices than a lot of shops out there....Two thumbs up!! read more

I use to work in this center and they always came into my work place and seemed friendly, however one of my coworkers said something about not liking them and it kind of deterred me. I ended up going to a different shop and the guy screwed up my tattoo. I came in hopeful that it could be fixed and Jamie did an amazing job, I've continued to have him do my tattoos and I've had one by Jacob. Just yesterday I started on my sleeve and Jamie went above and beyond my expectations and it's not even close to done yet. I've received so many compliments and it's only the first day. I'm soo glad I went in to them because I'm not afraid to show people the original tattoo I got anymore because of how it was touched up and added to. I highly recommend them.
